Great playing Danny & nice sound👍 I bought a Midtown Custom in 2014 and after some initial set up issues, I love it. Bridges the Les Paul- 335 gap nicely, best of both worlds!

@@dlrdanny we are musicians admiring fellow musicians and your playing is amazingly fluent and dynamic! I have a 2014 Midtown Standard in Pelham Blue with stock, crunchy Burstbuckers and it's surprisingly one of my favorite sounding "semi-hollow" carved body guitars over others 3-4 times more valuable. I also like it's low action and fast, just right, tapered 60s neck. I'm glad to hear you playing yours so well. Keep on rocking and entertaining us with your clips my friend.

Henry my friend thanks buddy :-). Not sure about the distortion, I use overdrive almost always. The guitar comes stock with burst buckers, this one has a Gibson 57 in the neck and a 57 PLUS in the bridge. Cheers! Danny

I still have the Burstbuckers on her and I love it. When I want more bite I grab my 91 LP Standard.. Keep up the good work, so now you have a goldtop as well as a 335... that's awesome

@@EZblueboy The 11 is what I use live with power amp racked up. I use 2 high quality - one 12 inch cabs with a small horn in each and run in stereo, sounds good to me for what I do. Kinda PA speakers that crank. That way I still use the 11's cab sims. I use a midi pedal to switch on/off effects.
The Midtown to me is a mix of the 335 and Les Paul. This Midtown played very well. Really hard to recommend, each of us likes and needs different things, we are all different... ha... I have a 335 now. 🙂

Wow! great stuff man. chops in service to genuinely melodic interesting playing. If you get a chance, I'd appreciate your opinion. I am lusting for a 335. The midtown is a less expensive option and it is clearly great for that overdriven funky stuff. But i aspire to play more swing jazz type stuff. I want to play rhythm like Freddie Green and solo like Charlie Christian. I am not sure that a 335 is the perfect choice mind you, but do you think the Midtown would be just as good for what I want? Oh and I know an ES 150 with an EH 150 amp is what I really need but I don't have that kind of money. Problem is that you don't come across Midtowns very often and the only way I will get a chance to play one is by buying it unseen off Reverb so insight from someone who has owned one would be appreciated. Oh and thanks again for posting your jam, it really was terrific.
My choice is a 335 over the Midtown. I used them many years and had about 4 or 5 over the years. I am using now a 1981 Ibanez AS-50 Semi hollow with different pickups that come close to the feel and sound of a 335 for about a $1000. It has that older 335 feel to it with a slightly smaller body than a 335 but same quality. I like it better than the Midtown but the Midtown was nice and played really great. The AS-50 is a real player also. The ES 150 is sweet also my friend :-) Thanks and cheers! Danny

But of course the answer to the question "How many guitars do you need" is always, "Just one more." I have never had a 335 and I have always wanted one so someday when I find the right one and my bank account is cooperating I suppose my dream will come true. I do have an older 125 TCD which is a humdinger. And I have some Fender solid bodies so I figure I need a semi hollow to round things out.
Hey, cut that out before somebody gets hurt ! Can we get this man some coffee, please? This slow blues stuff gonna put us all to sleep ! Sounds much more "airey" and transparent than any LP ~ Technically it may be called a chambered body, but it definitely has that open feel of a true semi-hollow ~ Love the neck pickup especially. That's a nice guitar... Who's the other hollow body in the background? Don't believe we've been introduced ~
Thanks Jack! That's a Peavy JF-1 with Stewart Mac Golden Age Parsons Street Humbuckers. Nice pickups I bought for this inexpensive 335 copy which is not bad, real nice neck (wider)and build for the money. Maple lam top, back and sides.

I thought this guitar was really sweet and it played great, I ended up getting another 335 which is my fav of gibsons. I had a 1975 335 that was stolen from me. The Midtown to be is a fine cross between a Les Paul and 335. It was very nice :-)

@@dlrdanny Thanks Danny for your reply. I am a victim of GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome) and I am fortunate to have several instruments. But of course the answer to the question "How many guitars do you need" is always, "Just one more." I have never had a 335 and I have always wanted one so someday when I find the right one and my bank account is cooperating I suppose my dream will come true. I do have an older 125 TCD which is a humdinger. And I have some Fender solid bodies so I figure I need a semi hollow to round things out.

Hey, cut that out before somebody gets hurt ! Can we get this man some coffee, please? This slow blues stuff gonna put us all to sleep ! Sounds much more "airey" and transparent than any LP ~ Technically it may be called a chambered body, but it definitely has that open feel of a true semi-hollow ~ Love the neck pickup especially. That's a nice guitar... Who's the other hollow body in the background? Don't believe we've been introduced ~
Thanks Jack! That's a Peavy JF-1 with Stewart Mac Golden Age Parsons Street Humbuckers. Nice pickups I bought for this inexpensive 335 copy which is not bad, real nice neck (wider)and build for the money. Maple lam top, back and sides.
Everybody sounds like Larry Carlton on these midtowns lol. That being said I still want one.
It was a great player Paul, fast neck and felt nice, nice quality build. Really wanted a 335, sold this and got one... ha...ha..

just using my Eleven Rack plugged into my PC and a 25 year old Alesis Quadraverb for echo and reverb. No EQ or anything else, that's it. :-)

I thought this guitar was really sweet and it played great, I ended up getting another 335 which is my fav of gibsons. I had a 1975 335 that was stolen from me. The Midtown to be is a fine cross between a Les Paul and 335. It was very nice :-)
Danny why is there a strap knob on the bottom?
It had 2 when I got it used, never checked to see if they came this way. Both are the same kind...ha..ha... :-)
Maybe the original owner had it strung for a lefty.
