My issue with “get a group of friends if you want to push keys” is that in reality a team requires a schedule, which I and I think many others don’t want. I don’t expect the people in this podcast to get not wanting to schedule their lives around WoW but the answer to many of their questions/confusions about pug behavior I think simply comes down to not wanting a wow schedule/obligations.
Well you dont need a full group of friends, and you dont need a schedule just having friends online that wants to do keys and push is a huge step from sitting in the groupfinder to look for 4 randoms.
@@bryfejs in theory (and maybe your experience) yes, but personally I’ve found that if you don’t play with people consistently then long term you stop grouping together at all.
@@themInterwebs yes and you might progress further than them or the otherway, then you might need to make new friends that you can group with. Just dont understand why ppl are making it harder than it need to be
I think it is quite simple. If you want to progress in anything in life you have to get involved. And M+ as a Group activity is no exception. But I agree that most people dont want to have any kind of fixed obligation in a video game. One has to live with the limitations that comes with though.
This is a big reason (and skill honesty) but this is a big reason I don’t ever look to push past the KSM mount and teleports… I won’t be a 30 pusher and that’s fine with me I’ll grind my alts
I was bored at home over Christmas week and decided to push in the 22-25 range after never really doing much beyond vault keys for the season. I definitely echo the sentiment of pugging being brutal - you either brick a key in about 2 minutes or it's the smoothest group you've ever seen. I had way more success asking people to run more at the end of the key, or adding people I thought were good to try and play with later. It might help that I'm also a tank, so I was getting invites to do like 25 Fall having never timed a 23, all because I just timed the key before with the same dudes.
I always have problems with people not completing. Like going into a key for the first time, a couple missed kick, a mistake and wipe, whatever, and people leave? that is now several hours of prep before i can get to the actual bottlenecks that would require learning/prog
Since I just got that Slimey Worm Mount from Plaguefall, I remember how crappy that last boss was on tyrannical. And for the added bonus, you get a group wide poison rain DoT that stacks! 🤮🤮🤮
not being able to do anything about the snapdragons is kinda absurd. my rsham spirit linked me to death on my bdk. feels really good. bleed ticking for 1+ mil, but also having allies that need link to live.
Mythic plus would be rough if I didn't have 2 irl friends I play with. Much easier to form groups when you know you have 3 people who aren't griefing and won't get mad.
What would you say about all mob casts being no less than a 2.5-3 second cast? Some are so quick that unless you are using focus macros + weak auras + other addons (in a pug at least) it just too much. Or at least casts that are so impactful you have to kick them must be at least re-actable. I seem to find this being the most key-killing aspect in pugs besides affixes.
"got them now and won't let go" in the patreon names is a line from Pip in the Council of Dreams trash clearing/rp bit before you can start the fight i think?
For me the issue with adding pugs to friends etc is that even if one run went well there's zero guarantee they won't be throwing insults when something goes wrong in the next dungeon. If anything I think runs that go poorly are a much better indication of a person.
I wish they expanded more on the fact that the legendary wielders are all bad right now. they kinda brushed it off as a "they're always bad" and as someone that plays one of those specs, it absolutely blows that its our time to shine with a legendary and still we aren't wanted in groups
Hunter's Pet Cleaves work on those orbs knock backs too for 2nd boss in TotT. Of course no one wants Hunters in very high keys, so it's kinda pointless 🤭🤭
In terms of the legendary thing... if I have to spend 400k~ to get 5-10% extra damage I'm 100% deleting the item and not bothering. Not all of us have millions, and I'm absolutely never dumping that much into anything temporary... a sick utility mount or whatever? yeah but a weapon that's getting replaced in 1 tier? fuck no.
I really want to do the quest chain just for the lore cause I'm a loser like that who's still into the lore but the first time I went to the auction house and had to drop 80k for just one of however many steps I logged off my paladin and haven't gotten back on.
I think the highest key I have done is a 23 EB because I found a good group and happened to have time for an extra key but generally I get on, do 1 key, then have to get off. It's fine that title is designed around people who no life wow but I feel blizzard really misses the midcore players who have nothing between portals and title to work towards.
I hear you, but my issue as a healer is that after that much adrenaline for 25 minutes, I need a break for 5-10 minutes before the next key. Also, I forget to blink during a run and my eyes hurt. 🤣
We should have a game that is designed such that "Mob CD on Nameplates" WeakAuras are not even desired. There's no reason that mobs can't have tells for their abilities, a simple cast bar is fine but an obvious animation is even better. The example that was brought up about Rock Elementals in Azure Vault using Shards is actually a perfect example of how all those kinds of abilities should be. They do an obvious animation and have a few second cast before the ability needs to be stopped, which is more than enough to manually coordinate without a WA. Mobs that have no cast startup or obvious animation though are the problematic ones that encourage degenerate WA overdependency.
When I’m tanking 15 mobs in a stack, there is no way I’m going to see one of them using a unique cast animation. Cast bar is the only visible solution for something like that.
@@scuttlebut Yeah, I dunno why we need these dumb anti-WA comments every time. People will want to pull bigger and do crazier pulls. Not using WAs is not an option, because a WA will always be able to give you more information more quickly than a specific Blizzard in-house solution, and forbidding them just artificially gates keys way below players' skill level.
I really hate cooldowns on nameplates and WAs that announce CC chains and so on. The logical response from blizz to that is to then make every ability impossible to deal with without those tools, like casts that are 0.5 seconds long so you practically can't respond to it unless you know beforehand exactly when it's coming. Abilities should be designed such that you can reactively respond to them, assuming of course that you know about them beforehand or they're coming at some point within the next 10 seconds or whatever.
I think it's ridiculous that it costs 400k+ gold to make the legendary. This seems pretty obvious that Blizzard wants you to get the legendary drop and then buy 1-2 WoW tokens hahahahahahahahahaha :)
in every video tettles must say "You must know the Meta ..." to be honest until keys up to 23+ to 24+ the "Meta" is not important mate ... tettles you must know better playing balance which is not "Meta" as far i know
"Up until now we hadn't found any good uses for shadowmeld in mythic plus" - Dratnos
I liternally laughed out loud when you said that.

Cool guest, love Tarithal's takes
the totem boss, causes his auto attacks to also proc nature damage. so it largely bypasses stagger, shield block, ect
phenominal episode, I learnt quite a bit thank you fellas

1:11:20 Council of Dreams. Pip says it (or something similar) during their ultimate.
Another great episode, love the discussion

Fun Fact on the Squid on last boss: He can parry. I learned that when my warbreaker got parried :)

The itsie bitsie minie mo line is from Pip on council of dreams
Amazing insights tyu
These come in so clutch on boring work days. Y’all doing the lords work. Ty
The double meld BRH tech is insane

They only added the Sound API for Private Auras because we asked for them, that is intentional.

I think it’s a line from his sleepy song

Your right, but this is the only way to get a good friend group built up to make groups from. Easier to remove someone than it is to add them anyway.
The guarantee is not there, but of course you can just remove that person from your friends list. I'd say that's the best approach.
where do you find WA packs like terry's pack you mention in the weakaura segment?
Bump
Bump
Oh you're the m+ wa pack guy, what a GOAT, absolutely the best
Can you link please?

great episode gents. great guest. i love cds on nameplates. one of the best WAs

All this praise about his wa pack but nobody links it =[
nice
Okay so the take away is "be a tank or an augvoker, get friends to not pug, climb by grouping with good streamers"
im in the 23 to 25 range i play 1 week then 2 weeks at work cant dont play Plus im a warrior
Im in the minority cause I’m always asking after a good run “you guys wanna keep going?” And everyone just throws at the gg and leaves
I think a lot of players just don't want to socialize lol
I hear you, but my issue as a healer is that after that much adrenaline for 25 minutes, I need a break for 5-10 minutes before the next key. Also, I forget to blink during a run and my eyes hurt. 🤣
can you invite Yoda in the future talks? Also tactyics and Quazii
The community wants these YTers, get them!

if his only credential was 3700io aug evoker Id just thibk hes an average skilled player. The other credentials however give him big credibility
Personally i would love if single target kicks would not overlap. Having 3 kicks go on a single spell feels bad 👎

so many casual player comments. most of your ideas will kill the content.
Does someone have a link to his weakaura pack? Sounds like a good pick up
