Great tutorial,very informative. It was very helpful for me when I purchased the AVH-2440 NEX three years ago. I watch it about once year.
When I did a search and see that this video was 30 mins i thought there would be 25 mins of useless info but I was wrong. It is a very informative video thank you for taking your time to do this video.

You missed mentioning a cool feature on this avh-2440nex while in android auto, you dont need to push the steering wheel button to speak,nor the radios mic button, nor the mic icon on the screen , just say "hello google" and it will do anything you ask,text,phone,nav, answer questions etc. Pretty cool feature

I just installed this in my Crosstrek. The only thing I dislike is the missing lines on the back camera. so far everything else is working well and I love this, the Android Auto is very handy.
Great Video! One other difference you forgot to mention is that the 2440NEX also has an 840x480 resolution, which all other nex units have 800x480.
Just picked up this deck. Thanks a ton for the in-depth tour. I also enjoyed your demo style. Even after the warning of not plugging in the idatalink into the aux port, I still did.
Just swaped a Kenwood DPX502BT for a AVH 2300. Big difference in sound!
I have that kenwood, I wanna swap it out as well.
The only complaint about these newer pioneers is that there are no longer dedicated track forward and track back buttons. I understand most cars have steering wheel controls at this point but for the ones that don’t makes it kinda meh. Great video guys. Thanks!

Its ok. but it would be much easier to press a button without looking than doing it on the screen.

Since the 2 differences between the 2400NEX and the 2440NEX are the remote and HDRadio, can a remote be used on the 2400NEX? Love the channel!

What is best way to hook up 2ohm kicker subwoofer. I tried the y splitter that didn't work and tried an adapter that you strip the wires and put together positive and negative that didn't work. I also tone the wire attached to the subwoofer works fine .subwoofer has speaker wires going in and rca going to the headunit.
Where did u plug the phone wire in the radio the usb in the back?

is the 2440 any faster than the 2330? or better screen or anything. i really want the parking lines in the camera but also dont want the radio to be slower than the 2440 model if its worth the extra cash

Hi Dean, I've got a question for you. I installed a Pioneer AVH-1300NEX in my 1991 Chrysler... and yes I had to modify the dash and trim cover. The car has a remote CD changer with the round 8 Pin DIN plug that plugged into the back of the original radio which had a Mode button to select the changer. Is there an adapter available or can one be made to connect the car's CD changer's 8 pin DIN plug to the Pioneer's audio RCA inputs and also provide power to the changer?

If u register the unit and later sell ur car with the unit how can u transfer the info to the new car owner?

Will this need an antenna adapter to get the most out of the HD radio? On site I wanted to buy this from recommend I did need it. Or was that for the w4400

So far love this radio but have two questions.
1. I installed a front camera ,does this now prevent me from adding any form of miracast since I used the 1 A/V input, is there a way to do both?
Also my maestro rr uses the only aux jack ,since that's the only way it will interface with modern cars steering wheel functionality.
2. Is there another way to stream content like netflix ,you tube etc with such limited port offering on these radios?
Will the factory rear side view camera work with this when the right turn signal is activated and also factory rear camera? I have a 2016 Honda Pilot EX-L. Thanks!

How is the screen in the outdoor daylight? The glare on my new Kenwood 9904s I got sucks big time. I only see finger prints.

Important (to me) question: the specs on Pioneer's site say that it supports Android Music. Does this mean I can plug my Android device in via USB and play music such as Spotify, Tidal, UA-cam without being in Android Auto mode?

I hope somebody can help me. I have three illumination/dimmer wires on my car adapter harness: orange, orange/white; and orange/black. I know the orange connects to the Pioneer orange/white but where do I connect the remaining two wires? The orange/black is a illumination ground, so do I connect to the chassis grounds?

the idatalink has the 4 pin connector and the headphone jack, does the headphone jack plug into the aux input or w/r? I hooked up mine to the w/r and everything worked last night when I tested it before putting dash back together, this AM everything worked except volume controls on steering wheel... 2015 Tacoma non JBL

yep i switched it and all is well....seems if it is plugged into the wrong one it causes the steering wheel controls to work intermittently....

I registered my (1st Gen) 4200 NEX and never received an email about the updates. But I found them on their website.

No, you would need the w4400 for wireless CarPlay.

I have a Merc 190D, from 1993 and on the back of the rear seats is a metal plate that goes from pillar to pillar, behind the metal plate is the diesel tank (plastic) that can be seen from the trunk. Should i sound deadening (total or part ) this metal plate from the cabin side?

This radio will not work with usb-c phones. The recommended cables from the pioneer websites don't help either
Sure it does. Mine works fine. Use your phone's original cable.
Well that sucks for me then cuz my original cable broke. Even still I remember it having trouble connecting which was why I bought the recommended cables

I was told by seller I can't stream or mirror video on 2440. I upgraded to 4400cuz I video at all times but installers haven't got it right yet.
@@erichogan5903 the microbypass let's you get around the emergency brake sequence so you can acces all the menu functions while the car is moving. Passengers can also watch video from the dvd or usb drive.
@@erichogan5903 the installers at BB told me they can't install the bypass for liability reasons so i ended up installing my 2440 myself with the bypass.
