Yeah it looks like a really fun game to play. Can't say I've played a survival horror wolfenstien 3d before. The sound effects when opening the doors sound like they're possibly from PSX/Doom 64's lift sfx. So a bit of Doom in there as well even if just audio.
*Very* Wolfenstein-y. Nice frame rate and smooth animation (unlike the 3DO version of Doom). Very cool that you got the limited edition with all the bonus items. Thanks for uploading this. Cheers!
Wolfenstein meets survival horror. I like the overall work and presentation, also that they used original logos for Panasonic and the 3DO. Good pick John! 😮
3DO is one of my favorite systems of all time. It really served its purpose and pushed sony, sega, and nintendo to up their game. Our pool hall we ran had arcades and a couple big screens to rent out by the hour and the 3DO was ALWAYS rented out. Need for Speed, Slayer, Wing Commander III, and Fifa were the games usually being played.
I had the 3DO back in the day truly revolutionary, the 3DO port of FIFA International Soccer is the best ever It blew my mind and it was the reason I bought the system. Playstation my arse, 3DO was the real revolution.
I do love these kind of games. It looks like they went all out in the packaging and extras. Just like they did back in the day. Thanks for the video, John!
I grew up playing Doom and Wolfenstein 3D but not on the 3DO but those are still some of my all-time favorites and I still like to play Doom on the PC to this day Thank you for your content John Hancock and I hope you're having a good day in a good week sir God bless you and your family God bless you Jeremy Scruggs
That’s cool! I loved the old wolfenstein back in the day on my old computer. Don’t hear much about the 3DO anymore, glad somebody is making games for the platform!
100% agree still my two favorite versions of those franchises. I also love Slam N Jam (which was similar to Give N Go) and Twisted (very underrated and little known 3DO title).
This is something I would have been happy too play on the pc back in the day. I still have fond memories of playing Marathon on the old macs in middle school.
Got the long box too John, #23 for me. So fantastic to see on the 3DO shelf. Are we considering this an official 3DO retail release at this point, it seems World of Games was able to license the 3DO symbols
Whoa John, it’s beautiful! The long box is def the way to go! Great production with this, loved the little flyer with D on it. Definitely the Wolfenstein/Doom vibe, these vids are cool good sir!
We had a 3DO back in the day. It was (mostly) great! Its main downfall was the price. By the time they got the price down to a reasonable level there were other choices out there. But one of my all-time favorite games on any system was on this: "Gex"! Loved that game to death.
If you want to play Wolfenstein 3d all you need is an original Xbox and a copy of return to castle Wolfenstein tides of war, beat the game on normal difficulty and a bonus option appears in the main menu that lets you play the full Wolfenstein 3d.
I grew up around the block from Kevin Cloud.I remember when I was 14 Kevin told me he wanted to design video games when he grew up. I think he was ,9 or 10 years old then.
There is many people out there who don't realize this.... PANASONIC 3DO has amazing graphics and sound NOT even PLAYSTATION or SEGA SATURN can compare!!!!
I like panasonic as a company. There are some great youtube videos about their history. I wish there had been a system they made that I had, but right now I am focusing on gamecube/advanced and I can't afford a Q box! Although I want one so bad. It also looks more difficult to mod and I'm hoping to get another gamecube and turn it into an all around mini pc work station. My fiancee came with a gamecube and a gameboy advanced and while they were after my time I'm kindof excited about what you can do with them. Totes wish the gear wasnt so expensive for them though.
John since you are a fan...please do more content on Panasonic 3DO, it needs more recognition and love. Too much negative stigma on the console out there. The game library is the issue (but there are some gems for sure), not the console!
It certainly looks like an interesting game. I’d really like to get my hands on it. Although the difficulty does seem a little bit high, starting off on level one they were probably trying to set them self apart from doom or Wolfenstein, but after only a couple of hits, and your dad seems a bit absurd.
Not TOO difficult to replace the laser and recap those consoles if you want to. Easy to learn the process and relatively simple soldering skills (worth learning and getting into if you want to keep your old consoles going)
You should be able to pick up ammo from the dead prison guards. I cant even count how many movies I've watched where the villain is shot and the protagonist moves on without grabbing the gun or ammo. Drives me nuts.
I will have look that game up. 2 be fair The Philips CD-i, The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer, Apple Bandai Pippin, Neo Geo AES, Neo Geo CD, Jag, and Jag CD are all systems I passed up. It has to do with the fact that only sotre that had the systems and games cosled less then 1 yaer after it opened the resoan was Blockbuster Video. See where I live both the SEGA and Nintendo kids did agree with one thing you never buy video game systems that you can't rent games for at the loacl Blockbuster Video store.
I thought it would look like it's own unique thing in a non-wolfebnstein/doom setting after seeing all the effort that went into the packaging. Kinda disappointed.
It's only for the 3DO. The ISO is available and can be played on an emulator if you don't have the hardware. I recommend using RetroArch with the 3DO Opera core, but hardware is best.
This looks really bad. No feedback for item pickups. No indication the bullets are even hurting the enemy. I enjoy the retro Wolf3D vibes but right off the bat it's missing some basic design. Which sucks 'cause it looked cool.
Graphically for sure ...but I'm not into Classic gaming since there's so much newer & better games to play. Even at the time of my original 3DO Console purchase ...I really felt it was a total waste of ($700) money.😪@@johnhancockretro
I remember being in college and seeing Wolfenstien on a friend's computer with... OMG!!! a sound card. The German soldiers yelled "Mein Leben!" when you shot them, it blew my mind! 🫨
“Boomer Shooter” you say?! 😍
It's like if Wolfenstein and Resident Evil had a baby.
Yeah it looks like a really fun game to play. Can't say I've played a survival horror wolfenstien 3d before.

You are most welcome
Thank you for the feedback, John! I'm glad you are enjoying the game so far.
Wolfenstein meets survival horror.

Good pick John! 😮
Yup, the publisher licensed this title through official channels, so they had the right to use the 3DO logo.
@@sixersfan105. Yes I like they go an extra step to achieve that.

Same 🎉

I also forgot Return Fire was a big hit as well in my place.
@@JGKingCrusher yeah!! Amazing game!! 🙌 But I played years later, didn't know it back in the day.
I really enjoy seeing after-market games for obscure consoles.
3DO homebrew keeping it REAL
Imagine playing the 3DO before Saturn or PlayStation, ya I was there 💪
I do love these kind of games. It looks like they went all out in the packaging and extras. Just like they did back in the day. Thanks for the video, John!
Looks fun! Reminds
Me of the Jaguar version of Wolfenstein. I was obsessed with that version of the game in 1995-1996.
I grew up playing Doom and Wolfenstein 3D but not on the 3DO but those are still some of my all-time favorites and I still like to play Doom on the PC to this day

Loved the 3do. Road rash and need for speed are both fantastic and still worth playing on the system
100% agree still my two favorite versions of those franchises. I also love Slam N Jam (which was similar to Give N Go) and Twisted (very underrated and little known 3DO title).
I saw this in a facebook 3DO group and I couldn't believe it!
Wow really cool.
Im happy to learn about this from you especially, but really wish I had a 3DO now 😂

@@johnhancockretroalways!
Wish I still had my 3do . Loved it back in the day
I didn't even know 3DO was a actual game series. Might have to check it out later
DOOM and Wolfenstein are classics blessed to see all from 1980-Now
I wanted a 3d0 so ridiculously bad as a kid, seeing way of the warrior in gaming mags had me hypnotized , to see this video.
Nice to see new game on the 3do. Such un underrated system in my opinion
I love these old style shooters. Is this releasing anywhere else? Would love to try it but I don't have a 3DO.
they still make games for 3DO? This is amazing, I still have my OG 3DO hooked up and would love to add some new games to my collection.
all 100 copies are sold out already....grrrrrrr
But standard copy still available :)

I don't have the 3DO console but 30$ for a game is not that expensive, thanks John
It’s basically wolfenstein with a fresh coat of paint and a different name
I grew up around the block from Kevin Cloud.I remember when I was 14 Kevin told me he wanted to design video games when he grew up. I think he was ,9 or 10 years old then.
This game reminds me of Rise of the Triad.

I need to hook up my 3DO and see if it still works. The Sega CD still works even if the thirty year old CD player is starting to show its age.
Not TOO difficult to replace the laser and recap those consoles if you want to. Easy to learn the process and relatively simple soldering skills (worth learning and getting into if you want to keep your old consoles going)

Classic 4:3 aspect ratio

do the world need a new wolfenstein clone?
Yes, as this is a good one ;)
I thought it would look like it's own unique thing in a non-wolfebnstein/doom setting after seeing all the effort that went into the packaging. Kinda disappointed.
Do you ever get asked for your autograph?
Will or is there a way to play this other than the 3DO ?
No idea

Correct and without posters and extras. Same game content though.
Purchased the game on the link you have in the bio after watching your video just to be refunded 1 hour later with no explanation from world of games
Joseph Hatcher issued a $34.99 USD refund
30$ is a lot for what is almost a Wolfenstein clone lol
this is actually much worse than wolf3d
I agree with you. This looks terrible.
Wow ...thanks for sharing, but that game looks absolutely horrible. Not a purchase for me since I sold my Panasonic 3DO years ago.
Hmm what do you think is horrible about it?
