I grew up in Kolkata When I went there recently , it broke my heart to see Kolkata . The Oberoi , New Market , the flyover from Victoria Memorial , La Martiniere , Park circus . The entire New market was a sea of Burkhas . Where are the Bhodrolok ? I remember the book fair , the classical music , the plays . Kolkata was a place where we had wonderful Paras and women were so safe .

Abhijit was spot on when he said that we should be thankful to the British for liberating us from the mad Muslim tyrants. I felt the same after reading William Dalrymple’s The Last Mughal. They did a big favour.

1) Mysore, after tipu died ( good riddance ) ,they mad a hindu the king or maharaja of Mysore
2) kashmir, where they allowed a hindu king in a Muslim majority area
3) bengal where the nawab were basically aurangzeb and British christians were better than those nawab
Rest all of india was under hindu or sikh rule with some exceptions

It's not really you kannadiga's fault brother. Pakistan's ISI is trying to open a new frontier in south India mainly kerala and western coast after losing narrative war on Kas1hmir. The radicalisation will increase in your state in next decade. North-south divide, language issue, caste divide, will be fueled to create divides and later these will be exploited by ISI when needed. Your state will likely see the import of toxic form of Dravidianism from Tamilnadu as well.
Our enemies will keep creating divides so they can cause instability in India whenever they need. They used to radicalise Kashmir earlier, now it's Bengal and North kerala. Stay strong brother. We will certainly come to aid you if things get out of hands.

Abhijit really underplays himself. Look at his depth of knowledge, and the way he articulates it. That is creative. His humor, self depreciating at times, is funny and requires creativity. I love the guy. A lot of my friends are gay. And they are more normal than what is considered 'normal'.

Bengal has already become kashmir. I live in Bengal, in 2019 stone pelting on ram navami prosession happened. it even made national news such was the scale of the attack. I went to the place where this happened and all i could see was stones from drains to roads everywhere,the roads were not visible. That memories still gives me chill. From that year we need security of central forces on any festival even during religious event like they do in kashmir.wherever you step out out you fill feel that you are in an Islamic country from their choice of cloathing,grooming,strong perfumes etc.last year i saw security personal in seven different clothing (yes i counted) to protect ganesh idol visharjan which was hardly 2km from its venue...
Very sad. In big metros, black tents everywhere...complete exclusion after all the benefits ...

Bengal might be making a comeback soon. However, even before the hindus, moderate "normal" people born in muslim families are probably the most in danger.
We have people like Kazi Masum Akhtar, who is a staunch Nationalist. He was attacked by a pattharbaaz mob when he sang and taught the National Anthem in a madrasa!
It is strange that in the 21st century, the stone age exists.

I have been to Kolkata, its shocking to the extent to filth and poverty in the cities! Didn't have courage to visit the more poor rurul areas! Irrespective of politics, the south, west and north India are developing fast, however Bihar and Bengal are in another sad universe!

The Meeting of the "MUSLIM LEAGUE" that was held in the Ochterlony Monument Ground in Calcutta near Dharamtala Bus Terminal on the "DIRECT ACTION DAY" of 16 August 1946 resounded with inflammatory anti-Hindu sloganeering and speeches.
The three MLA communist leaders that were present in the meeting was - JYOTI BASU from Syedpur; RUPNARAYAN ROY from Dinajpur and RATANLAL BRAHMAN from Darjeeling.

Being a Bengali, i really don't know what to do. Here people lives in delusion I think they are more liberal than west . Even if bjp comes to power I don't think they can change this in a large extent. Bengal politics has always been dirty and it'll be.
