      Maaaan. To digress from what your actually making reference to. And not to rant. And im not a F*** the police kinda guy. But cmon police need to start enforcing laws and penalize the actual problems in our modern canadian society. Not go for the low hanging fruit buy nabbing the enthusiest holding onto what little bit of their youth that the government allows or the kid who actually enjoys using his hands to wrench on shit and not sit around playing xbox

    • @zakuraayame5091
      @zakuraayame5091 5 років тому +5

      @@coryhaynes8755 loud =/= fast. If it is reasonable, fine; but some people have 100 dB+ exhausts meant for tracks, not the street. Maybe you need to realize there are other people in the world; I was one of the problem in the past; removed the cat back from a 91 RX-7 convertible; and drove it that way until I sold it to a friend a couple years later.
      One day maybe you'll understand. The illegal dB level isn't absurdly low, btw. You can have a rather aggressive exhaust; but again; most people get raspy/tinny exhaust, not clean, smooth, deep tones. They don't consider drone. They don't think too much at all, and I'm not sure why it is such a trend. NASCAR? Fast & Furious?
      A deep throaty exhaust does sound good; but maybe I've heard too many tin cans.
      I also agree the public servants, police, need to use better discretion and go after violent crimes and theft. A friend was given a ticket for accelerating before the speed limit sign, but it was around 100 yards ahead of them; they paid it already when they told me, as I suggested they fight it in court, as there is no way it would stick. They did it because they drive a BRZ and the exhaust is a bit louder than stock. Of course I wasn't with them, but I've been harassed by police when I was young, car searched several times without due cause but didn't want to escalate the issue even back then as also had a cop pull his gun on me when I was pulling my wallet out of my pocket after he asked me to, outside of the car, like he asked me to be.
      The problem is, the wrong people become cops; power hungry, unstable, us vs them mentality, a grudge to bear, etc. instead of being people who truly want to do what is best for the community they are serving and getting paid by.
      My point of view is slanted by being in the U.S.A.; but it is an issue of people who feel a false sense of authority any place in the world.
      I feel for anyone getting harassed and I'd rather them pass up a loud exhaust and ticket and fine people with 20 degree camber and stretched tires as they are an actual public safety hazard. The capability of the car to do anything is greatly reduced; stop, turn, etc. so an emergency situation pops up and the chances of it becoming a casualty/fatal incident is tremendously increased. If you want that kind of car, it is a show car. You trailer it to events, you don't drive it on the street. Have 45 degree camber and 155 tires on 12" rims if you could make it happen for all I care, just stay off the public roads with it; same with aggressive drivers needing to chill the fuck out and pay for some track time. You hear actual race drivers say they drive slow on the streets, because after the shit they see at 200 mph; being crazy on public roads in a normal seat belt and cars that aren't as safe doesn't seem fun or well thought out course of action..
      So some police can go fuck themselves, I've met good ones too; but just stop, think, and be responsible. To your own safety and others. To being decent to those around you. Do you want a 180 dB sound competition car booming down your street at night? Next to you at a stop light? Probably not. Nor do you want one that is capable of 95 dB rattling your rearview from several cars back. Same goes for those loud exhausts. It isn't for the streets; even though driving through tunnels and under overpasses is beautiful to the ears; been there, get it, but realized later on it was pretty selfish of me, but being a teenager I wasn't thinking of the bigger picture. They have manual and electric actuators to bypass exhaust for shows and track events; if you have 2k for an exhaust, you have the money to make it both loud and quiet.

    • @OllamhDrab
      @OllamhDrab 5 років тому +1

      That stainless kit actually doesn't seem so loud, just a nice-sounding stainless setup. It's much more about if it's a good sound than a loud one with me, and that doesn't look like it has a lot of restriction, either, so that's about my ideal for most things. (I do like to drive with music, and almost always with windows down, so I just want it to sound *good.* For my daily, I didn't really need a new exhaust, so I just cut out a bit of extra restriction and sprung for a nice stainless pencil tip, made everything sound much more pleasing to me. It can actually do wonders if you choose well.

    • @zakuraayame5091
      @zakuraayame5091 5 років тому

      @@OllamhDrab watched a video sometime in the last few weeks dealing with exhaust, pulses, velocity, etc; and it is actually interesting how small some race exhausts are. I feel perception is skewed for a few reasons on things like large exhausts; american racing culture is heavily inspired by drag racing and nascar; then the F&F series which for me honestly is a shit show of pure child fantasy of what fast cars are like, not written by someone who knows anything ... I love RX7s, and just the one clip from I'm guessing the first move had me throw my palm to my face so hard I got a concussion :p
      My friend's BRZ is not too loud, I get to drive it now and then; shame its an auto, but it can get 45 mpg highway cruising average on 100 mile round trips. It is deep, throaty, and a bit loud. I can hear the rumble at idle of the car slightly inside the house with windows closed; but its not obnoxious. The got it from carmax with 700 miles on it, and I haven't checked to see if the previous owner changed anything; I know it isn't UEL headers, no burble, talked them into doing that one day, but I had one from 2017, theirs is 2019, and I'm pretty sure this exhaust is louder and more aggressive, but in a very good way. I love a deep/low tone for idle. And no drone at cruise nor too loud when on it.
      In the video, I found, and maybe the camera is making it seem so, but the exhaust they used was quite loud. I also know positioning in the car can make a HUGE difference. My RX7 my friend and I stripped down including removing the cat back; was near deafening in the driver's seat, but when selling it to a friend, riding in the passenger seat was shockingly tame and quiet in comparison. If I was blindfolded I would've sworn you put me in a different 7.
      I definitely will take someone with a loud exhaust over the excessive camber and stretched tires; and definitely over the 'rolling coal' assholes doing it to people in hybrid and shit just because they have a different mindset; I'd like to let a unfixed male cat loose inside their car for doing that to someone. It is such a shitty thing to do.

    Those are Fast FS FC04 wheels, Canadian made, good stuff with flow formed rims. That's as close you get to forged heel without paying for forged wheels. Excellent metal quality and holds up in all kind of weather condition. 5x100 is the bolt pattern with 72 mm center bore. Can't put them on an STI as they use 5x114.3 bolt pattern. I believe this particular one is with the 30mm offset, judging by the poke. These were made for the 1998-2005 Audi TT which used the same bolt pattern. BRZ / Impreza in general is between 45-35 mm offset but 30mm is fine if you don't mind the poke. Just some random info. I could be wrong.

    Both wheel setups actually looked great I think! I'm really curious if the addition of an exhaust on this platform like the Hooker you guys put on it makes it feel much quicker on the "buttdyno."

    I laughed at the 10 whp from the grim speed intake. Yeah no. Maybe on supremely perfect conditions and on a really generous dyno 😂
