This battle report feels lore accurate; necrons have everyone dead to rights, tau get obliterated in melee range by something beyond their comprehension, and space marines somehow pull a victory by having terminators teleport in at the last second.
Wouldn’t happen if you rolled per model instead of all at once…. Mass rolling 20 to see what comes back is far more likely to get stuff back instead of per model, it actively manipulated the statistics unfairly in my opinion
Nick's cheerful attitude makes me imagine the T'au commander is trying to be positive and buddy-buddy with the marines and it's hilarious. This was a really fun battle report.
Tycho's narration is F#@KING AWESOME!!! I just started the video, and he's already got me pumped to see the other 60 minutes. Just describing the mission objectives was beyond awesome.

Yeah, I'm a necron player too, but I loved the feel. Necrons kept marching on the surface and wiped out the alliance while there was a desperate battle underground where the death watch survived for just enough to blow the machine ... cool ending even if the humies won
Then i have no idea what youre doing with them because theyre literally unfightable, my only option is to play the objectives against them because theyre so silly over powered that id need double their points to be on equal footing

This would honestly be a good movie for 40k. A last stand to the very end and actually getting the win. The Tau and Marines that are watching from space would be proud that their men who fought to the very end to save the star system
@53:49 - I think the Nightbringer's Necrodermis may have prevented that kill if it had 4 wounds going into that fight phase. "-this model cannot lose more than 3 wounds in the same phase. Any wounds that would be lost after that point are not lost.". I could be wrong ofcourse. But as always, amazing production value, great story, and the terrain is an inspiration for future projects. The starting intro is genuinely amazing! You guys are doing great!! Keep it up!!! Can’t wait for more up close Tau vids (and other armies I just love tau 😊)
Only Thing I Disliked about this Battle Report Is the lack of tracking of points on the board. It was hard to tell with all of the units how many points started on the board and how many were still alive. One of my favorite things about watching your battle reports is how clear you make them.
this one was really, really good. I love the more narrative-focused games! I'm also really impressed by the tables! Amazing gaming tables. Thanks for the video!
The Deathwatch and Tau moments away from fighting eachother are surprised by the sudden awakening of the necron tomb world and are forced intoan uneasy alliance. Now on a mission where they will all likely see their doom. The necrons of this planet had an unholy level of resilience, their ability to just get back up made them true horrors to the combined forces. Almostimmediatly bad luck strikes and the Tau are quickly being over run and Deathwatch take harsh losses. The defenders of the device are hammered and a single marine holds the point. In a critical moment a necron lord shoots up at him and the blast nearly takes him down. But the marine holds fast and barely stands his ground as his allies fall he must hold and wait hoping he can complete the mission. The tau are slowly obliterated and Deathwatch aren't doing much better. The tomb world rises up even more forces and the reinforcements hardly help. But hold the enemy off a little longer. A single terminator squad relieves the injured marine at the device determiend to hold the line for the comrade to finish the mission. The leech guard are too slow to reach them but the wraith pile in and the terminators swap them like flies. Only a few moments remain before the final soldiers outside fall and begin to go down the stairs and the cavern below has awoken leaving them surrounded. Injured and barely able to stand the veteran still standing manages to enact the final sequence and the crystal goes up. While none would survive they had done, a victory, filled with loss, but a victory none the less.

Alright, you outdid yourselves with this one. Better than your Battle of Armageddon with Orks vs Guard and Black Templars. If you haven’t already done so, put this in your featured playlist, PlayOn! Right there with the endless hordes of Nids vs Ultramarines and that Battle of Armageddon!
This is without any doubt your best video ever! That is exactly how i image 40k should be played! Thank you so much for this masterpiece. I have never been so thrilled watching someone push some minis on the table :D
turn number plus 1 plus D6 plus going for a 6+ needing 3 of those and starting in control of the win condition made the result obvious imo, especially with how the underground was designed. cinematic, but all the cool stuff happening above ground didn't really end up mattering at all and made the battle for the actual win condition one sided while all the boosts to necrons only really mattered above ground which didn't change anything as deathwatch only needed to stall which is easy on a narrow path. at some point just a large open war would have been more enjoyable and dramatic in my opinion. the only way necrons would have pulled through was rolling a 3/36 charge roll (with reroll) or a 1/6 chance of the deathwatch not rolling a good result. (which becomes guaranteed after that point) i think any small change would have made it less one sided and ultimately an easy win for the deathwatch to accomplish, anything from not making the device so isolated from the rest of the underground, forcing him to really commit to clearing things out there, removing the +1 on the action check so it isn't a 50% chance to start scoring turn 1 and improving from there. necrons did well so it didn't leave that poor of a taste in my mouth but having the game end in such an underwhelming way as rolling a 2+ is disappointing. tldr: my necron bias is showing, good video
Definitely the best episode you've done yet. I'm guessing the length of the match made everyone forget that c'tan shards cant take more than three wounds a phase. Or that the super weapon had four wounds at the start of the game and turn 2 they failed a roll for damage, so somewhere an extra point of damage was dealt. Either that or I'm just confused by all the glory I witnessed.
