Tau: So, temporary truce? Deathwatch: Foul Xenos, do you really think I would humiliate myself by- _The planet opens up, revealing a massive Necron army awakening_ Deathwatch: -not taking your generous offer?
This battle report feels lore accurate; necrons have everyone dead to rights, tau get obliterated in melee range by something beyond their comprehension, and space marines somehow pull a victory by having terminators teleport in at the last second.
This reminds me of that movie that was released on youtube. "The Awakening" a Warhammer 40K Fanfilm. Except I believe the Space Marines in that movie were not the Deathwatch...
disagree. necrons would have had that super weapon a lot more heavily defended instead of a few units here and there not to mention teleporting units a lot closer to the line
Nick's cheerful attitude makes me imagine the T'au commander is trying to be positive and buddy-buddy with the marines and it's hilarious. This was a really fun battle report.
Wouldn’t happen if you rolled per model instead of all at once…. Mass rolling 20 to see what comes back is far more likely to get stuff back instead of per model, it actively manipulated the statistics unfairly in my opinion

@53:49 - I think the Nightbringer's Necrodermis may have prevented that kill if it had 4 wounds going into that fight phase. "-this model cannot lose more than 3 wounds in the same phase. Any wounds that would be lost after that point are not lost.". I could be wrong ofcourse. But as always, amazing production value, great story, and the terrain is an inspiration for future projects. Play On!
Youre correct but im guessing after whats been over a 6 hour game, production, narrative story. Stopping for cinematic shots, that it was just a mistake. I cant even imagine how long these things take to produce
Thank you for posting that, I was about to do the same. But I think they also took over 3 damage in shooting with some other C'tan. I'm guessing they forgot the rule.
Yeah, I'm a necron player too, but I loved the feel. Necrons kept marching on the surface and wiped out the alliance while there was a desperate battle underground where the death watch survived for just enough to blow the machine ... cool ending even if the humies won
Then i have no idea what youre doing with them because theyre literally unfightable, my only option is to play the objectives against them because theyre so silly over powered that id need double their points to be on equal footing
Man this was so entertaining and fun to watch, I love how you guys did this, the setup, the narrative, the mood you guys always bring into your games. Keep it up, you guys are doing something really amazing for the entire Warhammer community to enjoy. Love from Latin America.
One Deathwatch marine, badly wounded , holding on to the objective long enough for the First Company to reinforce just before he is overrun. THEN at the LAST possible moment, pushes the green button to sacrifice himself and thwart the Necron. Chills guys. Literal chills
This would honestly be a good movie for 40k. A last stand to the very end and actually getting the win. The Tau and Marines that are watching from space would be proud that their men who fought to the very end to save the star system

Incredibly fun game to watch. Thank you guys for doing this (playing, editing, painting and narrating!) The narrative ending was spot-on, neither team a loser. Audience the biggest winners of all.
That used to be how you run them! Its designed too! When a pathfinder team was in a devilfish the recon drone could go right in he cupola. And it gave ge devilfish special rules.
Definitely the best episode you've done yet. I'm guessing the length of the match made everyone forget that c'tan shards cant take more than three wounds a phase. Or that the super weapon had four wounds at the start of the game and turn 2 they failed a roll for damage, so somewhere an extra point of damage was dealt. Either that or I'm just confused by all the glory I witnessed.
I like the RP from the Necron Narrative play that says "If a unit in your army takes a battle wound, you can instead remove it from your roster and replace it with a flayed one with the same honor and xp."
I agree, has to be my top pick of my to ten battle reports you have done to date and definitely my favourite out of all the battle reports I have watched :)
