I was curious about the detachment rules and the whole “most of your army rule disappears if you move into midfield” discussion. For Creeping Barrage you roll for every unit not within 12” of a friendly unit and for Incendiary Bombardment you pick a number of enemy units outside 12” of a friendly unit to affect. Long story short, your army rule does not disappear, it’s just requires some careful movement and picking the targets you want to focus on early. Eventually, especially with melee armies, you’ll probably wind up with only Smoke Shells available, but it’s not going to happen immediately.

I don't know where they got the idea that being within 12 completely kills the army rule from. You can still pick targets for incindiary, and roll for stuff with creeping, but you can't pick or roll for things within 12. It still EXISTS...

well well well, only 14 minutes old, this is indeed a fresh upload, which is somewhat ironic considering that half of the minis on the battle board are already rotting lol
Not a good first outing for the Krieg. Not sure why you would pick an opposing army that basically hamstrings a 4+ hit army. Makes for a lopsided battle. Maybe use the Chaos Cult detachment? I dont know. Maybe Tau?
I assume you guys don't have that many Kriegers but I feel like the Siege Detachment is much more of an Infantry Detachment than "Artillery" one. Like Waves of Infantry with support rather than just big Guns. :v
Need more orders for artillery with lack of heavy on basilisks and manticores. Thinking 3 siege cannons and Creed is the way to go so you can order all 3 to take aim and hit on 4’s even with indirect. Relying on 5’s is just crazy unreliable. And if you want more artillery, 3 FOBs with bombasts with another source of orders.
Siege cannons heavy plus take aim would mean it's hitting on 3s. If you reduce that by one for indirect it's 4s. So...how was James getting hitting on 5s?
In progress but the bulk of the army is on pause as we wait for a sniff of a new space wolves codex. We aim to have the army complete for launch, but want to incorporate new kits if they’re released :)
as far as i can see they will really be filling niche roles, even the manticore has been nerfed into the ground even more. but now they all have their own debuff they give to enemies.
@mrlakkie1612 I really don't like what they have done to indirect attack. Yes I agree that they will fill a niche, but unfortunately that niche will never be good to take when there is so much more useful things to pick or use. Why don't they make it so that any attack that indirect weapons do, the target always have benefits of cover and if there is no unit in your army that have a line of sight of the target then the ballistic skill of that attack will always be 6+, but if any of your unit can see the target then the indirect can shoot with their normal ballistic skill, and they can still have heavy. This is also make sense in a thematic wise since your unit is calling to the artillery where to shoot.
I wish I had 1/10th of the talent and skill of Fletcher, god damn the man can deliver such quality over such a short time spann.

People are slowly realizing how good defilers are. I've been running three in most of my games and they always bully the midfield and do great.

Total misunderstanding of the seige rules you are not meant to take a lot of artillery as the eules are to boost your other units
