This Is New wave my Friend. They began pure new wave electronic music in the 80's then turned more rock'n'roll style still with their New wave influences. I Saw them twice in concerts. They are one of the most charismatic and energetic bande on stage.

Finally someone that uses industrial to describe done. I'm fed up with people calling them synth pop. They WERE synth pop until Black celebration. Then that's another whole mood and band to me. And to be clear, one of the greatest of all time.

I love love love depeche Mode. I'm a metalhead for life, but I've had Depeche on repeat for 30 years. Hid voice, the music, the let's get between the sheets energy, the lyrics.....DM are one of the best bands ever. It's No Good, Only When I Lose Myself, Barrel of a Gun, In Your Room, Little 15.....good luck finding a bad song. And get on some Metal......Slaughter to Prevail.....Bonebreaker live in Moscow.
I literally went to see Spirit World, Death Angel, Sepultura and Kreator in Seattle. A week later my wife and flew to Paris to see Depeche Mode!!

one of my favorite aspects or things i like about this band (especially alan wilder era DM) is the interesting sound designs & arrangments. the use of samples of random or unconventional non-musical sounds (industrial noises, spoken word, breathing & all sorts of crazy background onomotapoeia words) which mr wilder truly shines best imo : )

I want to suggest you legendary Russian rock band from 80s. Kino. Interesting music style. Still now popular in many countries. Also in US they have fans.
They have lot of hits. One of them Calm night (Спокойная ночь). It's masterpiece. If you like good rockmusic it is for you. You will be surprised so great music you never heard! I will waiting.

I would say their genre is 80’s new wave. Also the emos of the 80’s- they have music from 1981 to 2023 though, highly recommend listening to stuff from albums like Playing the Angel, Violator, and their 2023 album Memento Mori.

Love Depeche mode , I recommend reacting to no good by them from the ultra album . I played that album to death during my teenage years
I know we're past the point of it being new for him, but I would have loved to see a reaction to "Walking in My Shoes."

You seem to have found the extended club version! Yeah, the end just kept going, sort of overkill. The version that plays for most ended shortly after that last chorus.
This is the album version. The one that you're talking about is the single version. The official video is the single version but it's length is a lil shorter, but is has the same abrupt ending.
