After going over so many honey farm tutorials that use observers, this is the most elegant one I've seen and it worked perfectly for me. Also thanks for really explaining how everything works around 3:45 because redstone has always kind of confused me and I really appreciate that I now feel like I understand it a bit better!
Hey, I'm glad it worked for you. And no problem about explaining everything for you. I hate it when I watch videos that teach me how to build something, but without telling how it works. So, I wanted my videos to change that.
This farm works great. The only con I see with this farm is that sometimes the honey bottles get spit out on the dirt blocks with the flowers on it. To overcome this, I turned each dirtblock into mud and placed hoppers beneath which is leading to a chest. Now the honey bottles which are getting dropped out onto the mud goes into the hoppers beneath them and goes into the chest. I'm a java player btw
Yeah, this is a common issue unfortunately. When working with dispensers they have a tendency to push items through blocks. It's a common problem with many farms where dispenser are facing a solid block, or when interacting with water in tight spots. This type of bug has been around for years, I wish Mojang would fix it.
You need to make sure all the dispenser slots have glass bottles in them. As soon as one of the dispenser slots becomes empty, the honey bottles will occupy that spot instead of being spat out.
Tested this out on my phone and everything works except the honey bottles get spit out onto the azalea leaves in front of the hives instead of down into the hoppers. This wasn't a deal-breaker for me as I've created my fair share of hopper minecart collection systems, but it's something to consider if you're making this farm.
Are the repeaters supposed to activate the dispensers when a solid block isnt in front, because mine arent. I also put hoppers on top the dispensers, and the repaeaters still dont activate the dispensers. Please help.
So I’ve made this farm but the items aren’t going into the hopper they are shooting on top of the farm when the dispenser is facing downward is there a solution to fix this

", I encountered this problem also, but not until after this video was uploaded, so I couldn't include it. After some testing, I've found that some of my farms work normally, and some spit out the honey into random directions. I think it is a bug. I can't figure how to stop it happening, but also think it's something to do with the farms orientation. I've got two farms in one room, both facing each other parallel, and only one of the farms is encountering this issue. Sorry, there doesn't seem to be a workaround right now, but I guess we will just have to accept that there will be some loss"
With this farm, no different. If you build the more compact version where bees are trapped in a 1 block wide area, then you'd need to somehow place the bee nests/hives without the bees escaping the farm. This can be done using half slabs I believe.
Does each slot of the dispenser have glass bottles in them? If not, the honey bottles will go into the dispenser. You basically need to keep the dispensersn full of glass bottles so there is no space for the honey bottles to go back into the dispenser, this will spit the honey bottles out for the hoppers to collect
Sooo made this farm and the red stone works perfectly which is nice because I suck at red stone and your explanation made it super easy. But I’m having an issue where the honeycombs seem to be dropping just about everywhere except in the hoppers. I extended them out a row where you have the azaleas and just extended the azaleas out a little, but now they’re even popping out the back on the red stone and the sides. Any ideas why this might be happening or how to prevent it?
It's a bug with Minecraft. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about it when building compact farms involving dispensers/droppers. Fortunately, the amount spat out and not picked up by hoppers is minimal, most items should be collected
@@r3crypt for me it seems like more gets displaced outside of the farm, but everything else works well enough that it kinda makes up for it. Less volume but still does what I need it to do. Apart from that though, which obviously isn’t something you can control, a great farm I’m glad I found 🙏
Built the farm and have the bottles full inside the dispensers as shown, but when the dispenser activates the honey bottle pops out on top of the dispenser instead of being ran through the hopper, anything I’m doing wrong? I have the hoppers, hives, and dispensers all in the right place

Hello, i made this and it worked fine initially. Then I built a building on top of the farm (with a 1 block space between the farm and building) and suddenly some of the dispensers are not dispensing. Is it due to the building on top or what should be changed
That's so strange. I can't imagine it being anything to do with the new building you place on top. Just make sure that nothing you built comes into contact with your redstone circuit. Especially true if you've used redstone blocks in your design
@@r3crypt thank you for replying! Yea, it was weird since the building I put on top was just a decorative one. But I was able to fix it by removing all the beehives and removing the honey inside. Ah, I think I may know what has happened. Basically, the redstone circuit needed resetting. If it happens again, just break and replace each piece of redstone that leads into the repeater
I had the same issue. It's very strange. I had two identical farms running, side by side. Only one of them was occasionally spitting out honey bottles or honeycomb. I even put a hopper minecart rail systems under both farms to collect all the items being spat out. Only one of these systems was collecting items, meaning I didn't miss anything being spat out from the other farm, because nothing was being spat out. So something weird is deffinetly happening. So I'd recommend not to worry about it too much.
@@r3crypt so a chunk border is depicted by a set of coordinates being divisible by 16. Some farms require to be inside of a chunk or else it won't work i.e. the kelp farm. If it's halfway in one chunk and another, it will not work.
There is a slightly different method to building it in the end. If you want to build it similar to mine, then build the farm, and enclose yourself within the farm before placing the bee hives. Otherwise, the bees will escape. Once you've placed the bee hives, remove two blocks, quickly leave, and then replace the two blocks. Alternatively, you could add a door to your bee farm, and use it to quickly enter and exit
I build your farm but when the hives get full the first time it works but the second time it doesn't but the redstone is fully powered so I have to brake the redstone and place it again for it to work.
I think you will only have to break the redstone and replace one time after you've built it. Unless you make changes to the farm, then you might have to do it again. But now you've already done it, it should work normally. Let me know if not. Also make sure to break and replace the redstome for each section of the farm. So break each piece next to a repeater and replace.
Tried your build iand the redstone dust signal is not reaching the repeater so I made it 1 block shorter and it worked once but when the bee nest gets harvested next, it doesn't work anymore. I'd have to break the redstone dust once for each module in order for it to work again which just really breaks the point of this farm
Yeah, sometimes you have to break the redstone circuit and replace the restone to get the farm working. But this should only need to be done once, and the farm should work forever
doesn't work for me. The redstone signal stops before it hits the dispenser, to make it work, I CAN drop redstone on top of the dispensers and then it'll work but then I can fill them.... on top of that the honeycomb and the bottled honey goes everywhere.... If it helps I'm on Bedrock, not Java.
