Parambil Chandy Metran was a native of Muttuchira and Vicar of Kuravilangadu. At that time Kaduthuruthy Valiyapally was serving as the Cathedral church of Bishop Sebestiani. The Episcopal consecration of Parambil Chandy was likewise conducted here. That same day Parambil Chandy was invited in the afternoon to the Kaduthuruthy Cheriyapally and the following morning he visited his native parish of Muttuchira. Parambil Chandy Metran himself expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the Knanaya community such as Pachikara Tharakan of Chunkom (thodupuzha) and promised them his protection and special regard. This can be found in the writings of Bishop Sebestiani: “On this last day a very serious man from Chunkom (Thodupuzha), a chief man and head of the Christians of Thekkumbhagam (alias of the Southist) intervened.
