      Next time I catch a big Bergall I’ll try eating it, I heard they taste like tog.

    Very cool that you got those triggers when the larger Tog were hard to find!

    What’s a good all around rod and reel combo that’s not too pricey(I’m relatively new)?

      @@TriboroFishing thanks! sorry for all the noob questions, but will I be able to put the braid line directly onto the reel? Or will I have to put it on some mono or Flouro first?

    • @TriboroFishing
      @TriboroFishing  3 роки тому

      Let a tackle shop do it for you they will lay line correctly for you.

    • @Ghost-sz7uo
      @Ghost-sz7uo 3 роки тому

      @@TriboroFishing if I can’t get a tackle shop to do it, do you suggest that I just use fluoro instead of the braid?

    • @TriboroFishing
      @TriboroFishing  3 роки тому

      Putting braid directly should be fine for Daiwa BG. I think it a has a not slip coating on the spool but you should be fine.

    What is the name of the jetty? I’m from ny and I really want to get on some tog and some trigger fish. I would really appreciate it.

    I was there yesterday using clams caught nothing but sea bass and cunner. Are the sand fleas easy to get? What time is best to fish the inlet for triggerfish and tog?

      Where is this?

    • @TriboroFishing
      @TriboroFishing  3 роки тому

      Sand flea are easy to get, check out my other video how to catch sand fleas. High tide is a good time for triggerfish. You have to fish different locations around the jetty they move around.

    Man those big bergals don’t taste too bad either if you never tried them, they eat the same things the togs eat

    • @TriboroFishing
      @TriboroFishing  3 роки тому +1

      Your right Tog a Bergals are similar fish, i think both are in the wrasse family which they love eating crustaceans. Soon as I catch a large one I’ll try eating one.

    Awesome catches. I'm in the the New York City area. I was told that the Tog actually swim away from the area for the summer. Is that really true, or they're simply not in season?
    Stripers and blues, for example, are not as common during the summer as they are before and after.

      Fisherman’s Magazine said Tog fish around the jetty and shores are residents fish and stay all year long.
