As a child, I spend a few years in Andorra,... I haven't returned since 1976. Cannot believe how it has changed :) WOW. I need to return. Although I liked it best when it was just a small village. :)
@@2chatons384, The same as today. I meant Andorra was never, in the last one hundred years, at least, a bucolic place lost in the middle of the Pyrenees, but an inmense drugstore where both the French and the Spaniards (I would say mainly the Spaniards) got some cheap stuff (electronics, tobacco, alcohol... ) due to the almost non-existing taxes.
Beautiful country, I was lucky to work there during a winter season. The whole country feels like a small town, people are open and friendly. Thanks for sharing and making so authentic videos!
I would definitely recommend the Camino at Pyrenees, that’s undoubtedly one the most beautiful parts of the trail. It is possible to start the Camino at any point (you still need to get your Camino credentials book first though in order to sleep at the official accommodations) and continue it later, even for few days at a time. It’s not a race to a destination (Santiago de Compostella) but just being on a journey.
Andorra Tourism Board should pay you for this video Gabriel. It makes me want to pack my bags and go there. Love the look of the modern city surrounded by mountains. Great video 👍
Oh my goodness! How beautiful is this! Look at that clean water and those mountains..I could live there happily.. Just amazing. Thank you Gabriel. Take care.💫😃💫
Hey Gabriel, Andorra looks a little different than it did when I was there in 1993. Either that mall wasn't there or I just missed it but if I had to guess I would say it wasn't there. I was only there for one day but found it to be very beautiful. When I was young I collected stamps and I loved it when I could pick up some stamps from Andorra because they were so beautiful so one of my main reasons to go there was to go to the post office and buy as many stamps as I could afford. I ended up buying at least one of all they had. The guy at the post office spoke English very well and we had a very nice conversation. He would point to a certain stamp and tell me all about what was on it. If it was a person he would tell me the story behind the person or if it was an area or building he would tell me about that. I must put Andorra back on my bucket list to visit once again.
Westur Psychedelic I’ve just finished a tour of all the micronations in Europe and am wishing there were more content creators making videos! @@SamanthaSeltzer Technically yes but i still see them as kind of independent territories since their culture, language and daily life is slightly different from Denmark, i guess the only thing what still ties them together is the financial aspect.
Hi gabriel i love like your vlog..the explorer traveller..im from philippines..keep it up im always following your vlog..and i would not skip your advertiser too..keepsafe always..im fun of your nice adventure view..specially if youre in mountain view.thanos for it. Best regards!
Wow, Andorra- always wanted to go and your video really brings it to life. Loved the adventurous hike. Those splashes of paint on rocks indicate the route of GR long distance trails. If you're getting into European micro states, try Liechtenstein. I have been there, (there's a video of a walk up to the castle in my channel) and the Alpine scenery is fantastic. Not cheap though- Switzerland prices. Also, if you're seriously contemplating a long trek in the Pyrenees, I would suggest the Haute Pyrenees route or the easier GR trail, both of which go from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, in preference to that St James trail. If you ever do such a trek, you really should buy the route guidebook! My one criticism of your hike in this video is that your footwear was totally inadequate for such walking- but you're probably not surprised to hear me say that!
I hope you show us more of Andorra. I've never heard of this lovely, fascinating country in the mountains. I've never gone to Spain but a trip to Spain, Mallora, Andorra and then possibly to France would be nice. I'm also looking forward to your adventure doing the Camino de Santiago trail someday. There are videos of others doing the trail but I'm just not interested. I've gotten so totally accustomed to your low-key, authentic style of travel video I can't seem to watch the others. I hope you got down the mountain OK and you found somewhere nice to have a meal. Your hotel room was very nice and modern. See you in the next video.
In Sommer prices of rooms in central Europe and in most of the Europe are lowered. But rooms in touristic areas around the sea become super expensive. U can find now room in 1 class hotel in Vienna for about 50 euro.
@@SamanthaSeltzer Yes a combination of exploring as well as filming and editing. The editing takes up entire days sometimes, so I spend more time in places than people realize based on how many videos I post. I'll have five videos altogether for Andorra after spending eight days here.
Tulip Hotel Company is sister company of Sheraton Hotel Group, French company style hotelier with very fine, new cushions and beds as well as rooms and hotel concept in city centers of France, Spain mainly. Ciao... Gabriel... I was in Andorra with my wife in... 2011...Very nice country... You have done a excellent job... Take care of yourself... Maybe... You could go to Monaco (Montecarlo)?... Grazie mille for this video....❤️
Also Andorra is cheap compared to France and Spain, because it is a tax haven and people who live near the border in France and Spain often go to Andorra to buy cheap goods.
Great scenery, thanks. It always makes me laugh when vloggers walk up the trail, leave their camera, and then walk back and the walk towards it. Conversely, they film themselves walking away, we all know they have to re-tread their steps to retrieve their equipment and then retrace their steps, lol.
Hi Gabriel, This countryside reminds me of the Swiss countryside this Andorra is a very interesting place. You don't think you may need a compass out there? I know you're not that far out there but that could be very helpful.
Thanks for this interesting and beautiful video, Gabriel! I have to confess my ignorance in never having heard of Andorra 😲. What beautiful mountains, I love the scenery, and it looks to be a lovely place to explore.
Etang is a French word for lake, the more regular one is lac, lago. Estany probably is Catalan for étang. In French the é is pronounced as the "a" in late, the a is pronounced as the "o" in on. In Spanish the "a" is pronounced as the first and last "a" in banana.
Gabriel. Love your videos. Question, do you plan to travel like this for the rest of your life or do you intend to eventually have a more traditional stationary job?
Sometimes you never fail to surprise. What a beautiful country.
Keep traveling n delivering such wonderful surprises.😀👍🍺
