DIY Twinkly Lights Project Ideas

With the holidays around the corner. It's time to start working on my annual Christmas display. This is two small projects that I will add to this year's display theme. I have just completed a bigger project that will be the centerpiece of this year's display, and will upload that video in the coming days.

Yes. They are great and easy to use. I just started putting the display up today. Typically, I'm done by Thanksgiving.

Thank you for your comment. One other thing I fail to mentioned in the video, with the PVC pipes, you can use the lights as arches if you need to.

Thank you. I used a 1/4 inch drill bit to make it easy to insert the bulb.

Do you end up with the glue all over the Twinkly Lights? I might want to rarrange at a didferent time and dont want to spend time cleaning the glue off. thanks

Not really. Because you are putting the glue around the hole to keep the ball in place. That's why you poke the hole big enough to fit the light. And actually, once you hold the ball with the glue firm to keep it in place, the glue also put a seal around the hole where the light is to keep it from coming out the hole. I didn't really have any issues with the glue getting all over the lights at all. I hope that answers your question 👍

Do the ping pong balls block the leds from being mapped by the twinkly app?

Not at all. If you check my channel, you will see I have many lights on the display and none of them gave me trouble.

Does the twinkly app mapping still work through the ping pong balls?

Thanks for your question. Yes it does. I'm not sure if you saw my other video when I was building the big DIY Christmas tree. I was able to map the lights even though it was a much larger build. Just pick a dark space and try to avoid reflection from glass or mirror when you are doing the mapping. Hope that helps.
