    Hooke and Leeuwenhoek were two of the first scientists to use microscopes to study the microscopic world of cells. Hooke coined the term "cell" after observing the tiny compartments in cork, while Leeuwenhoek discovered a variety of living creatures in pond water, blood, and other samples. They contributed to cell theory, which states that 1) all living things are made of one or more cells, 2) cells are the basic unit of life, and 3) all cells come from other cells.

    Robert Hooke studies Biology,Physics and Chemistry. Isaac Newton burned his picture due to the fact that when Isaac discovers the law of gravity and on why the planets move, Hooke claimed that because of his study of physics Isaac Newton was inspired by it.

    I am very confused about the timeline because according to the module... Anton van Leeuwenhoek's discovery emerged first in 1653 before Robert Hooke in 1665, and it is said that Zacharias Janssen was the one who created the microscope in 1590.
    Content of the Module:
    In the late 1500s, spectacle maker from the Netherlands, named Zacharias Janssen, invented the microscope. In 1600s, Anton van Leeuwenhoek, a Dutch shopkeeper who had great skills in crafting lenses observed the movements of protists (a type of single-celled organism) and sperm, which he collectively termed “animalcules”. In a 1665 publication called Micrographia, experimental scientist Robert Hooke coined the term “cellulae, " shortened to “cell” for the box-like structures he observed when viewing cork tissue through a lens.

      Definition for a Theory "a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained."
      A Theory is backed with thousands of evidence to prove it's true, like the Theory of Evolution, we evolved from Apes to Humans, and all of it is backed up with good, clean evidence to show it's true.
      The Theory I think you are getting mixed up with is a mere guess, however a Theory in scientific terms is a hypothesis backed up with evidence, and can be explained, unlike the Theory you refer.

    • @VivzStudioSs
      @VivzStudioSs 9 років тому +2

      You're meaning for Theory is just a blurb for the whole content of definition, not in depth.

    Honestly this kind of ideas and theories drives me mad. When will science confirm that everything was crafted by ALLAH and that our knowledge is limited to HIS will. How arrogant can u be to suggest and teach a idea that everything was created from a single cell and humans' ancestors were monkys or catfish and build up science based upon it.
