@@icastromusic to say there’s an orchestral version as Castro says makes it sound like there was a version before, but then it’s a world premiere so that probably means the original version was orchestral. There must have been a non orchestral, non-premiered version then.
This was not written by an Arranger. It was Arranged for Orchestra by the Composer, Omar Thomas himself. Omar Thomas works at UT, so it made it very easy to do this with his own university Orchestra. Also, Omar came to the Podium to be recognized at the end.
@@ChristopherRahn thank you. This has the same title as Duke Ellington’s Come Sunday and sounds vaguely like it at parts so I though it was arrangement of that. I take it Thomas did not intend this to be a version of Ellington’s piece at all?
@@ttvasakis Not sure, but the Wind Ensemble version (original) was very poignant, unlike the Orchestra version. Orchestra can't have the strict articulation like Wind Ensemble can due to the acoustics of the instruments.
Wow, i didn't think this piece was made for strings but they made it work
Yeah! I wanna hear the NY Phil play this now.
Holy based
So thrilled there's now an orchestral version of this work! Absolutely AMAZING! Bravo tutti!
There has been from the beginning though?
@@ttvasakis this is literally a world premiere what are u talking about

@@ttvasakis The Wind Ensemble version is the original. This version for orchestra was written by the composer after the wind ensemble version.
I got the privilege to watch this live, amazing!
Holy shit
Legendary! Never, ever gets old.
Absolutely beautiful. 🧡
Love this piece. Played it back in my high school wind ensemble (West Monroe High, 2023). Would have loved to play this in a symphony orchestra.
This is FANTASTIC!
Wow 🎉🎉🎉 bravo 👏
So beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this piece!!! I love this!
Unbelievable!!!
A very excellent performance. I only wish I was there!
So none of the basses dropped their uprights in favor of electric basses at Shout? Sad electric bass noises 😢
where can i find the score of this amazing music
Is there a score of this I can find?
Won't be available for another 2 months ish
