- Anto heads out with good mates Paul & Richie during the Roar to try and bag a decent 12 point Southland stag.
We decided to shelve this footage and not include it within the broadcast series of The Hunters Club, due to the fact that it was filmed predominantly on non-public land. The series has evolved a great deal since the time of filming. At this stage, we were still finding our feet somewhat and fleshing out a style and structure for the series.
As they say, it's the fish John West rejects, that makes John West fish best! - Спорт
Awesome ! You saved my day with this video! Great!
best hunting show hands down.
Thanks again for the free DVD at the sika show bro thumbs up !
“Deer eye for the old guy”, a show where a few young hunters help spot deer for an old guy who couldn’t see a big red if he walked into one 😂
Wasn't that the premise of "Outdoors With Geoff"?
Hahaha I completed forgot about that show, maybe Paul could do a cameo on it, it ever came back 😉🍻
Good vid showing the frustration of guiding.
awesome vid thanks for sharing
Really impressive footage fellas, sometimes I wish I didn't do all my filming myself. Keep it up...love it!
nice intro boys and narration , funniest shit iv seen in a long time.
Early days mate, things have changed a fair bit since this vid was produced
iv seen that, top show that you put together. well done. I think all kiwis would of had a laugh, two thumbs up
Still a choice hunting film. Keep up the good work.
Good vid getting me through this lock down ! Just wonder if you could tell me what rifle and scope everyone was using on that trip please
good camera work chaps

Good hunting!
10:43 fantastic film making
Unreal
I would love to bow hunt that spot 👌🏻. How far from Queenstown is this?
It’s says there is 5 videos but can only watch the first one???
Haha! Great show, but where are that dude's pants?
Still pretty good footage even though its from the cutting room floor. Any hunting footage is good footage. Plus it lets us in the other half of NZ without sky get an idea what your show is like.
Scott Giltrap This ep isn't a patch on the rest of the series!
part wants to buy the lure of call where I sell a decoy call for red stag
What app do you guys use to edit your videos?
Adobe Premiere Pro
whats the song at 23.06
10:45 magazine? No worries, didn't change the result :)
They actually took that shot after for the zoom effect if u get what I mean, he did have the mag in the moment
Kaleb Griffith oh haha that, makes sense :) yeah I see what’s going on now. Ah well, they do a great job these guys all the same
yeah shame they weren't wild it makes for a more exciting buzz. Like Bushman Josh or Graf Bro's. But still excellent HD footage. Thanks
dudekiwi They were definitely still wild mate, there's no fences on Nokomai, those guys were free to come and go as they pleased. It's the 2nd largest station in the country and is pretty much surrounded on all sides by DoC land.
The Hunters Club my apologies
Don't say that to loud because DOC will fcuk that up for you. How do I access that land to hunt please$
dudekiwi - Ha, you're right, will lower my voice... You'll need to try and win over James Hore to arrange access.
Crazy that off a stag that fat, they only took the backstraps. Wouldn't exactly be difficult packing him all out between 3 people (plus camera men), close to 60-70kg's of beautiful meat on that first stag, equivalent to hundreds of meals. Vacuum seal the muscle groups and wet age it in the fridge for a week or so, and you'll have some of the best meat out there. The backstraps are probably only 4-5% of that total weight, with the rest left to rot. What a bloody epic waste, if you don't have room for it in your own freezer, give it to someone who does, or donate it to those who are without.
Which part of new zealand is this?
Chin Chun Su It's Northern Southland, near Athol.
That first stag should have been let go pedicels looked a bit high probly would have been better in a couple years
Not sure about antos idea of 'big' and 'huge' stags. They were all young stags with pretty average antlers.
Is New Zeland ?
Yes, Otago & Southland
South island NZ
The old bloke was an absolute pain the the arse
