  • Our first ever broadcast episode, talk about a blast from the past!
    New Zealand is pretty much the only place in the world where you can hunt the majestic Himalayan Tahr, but it’s much easier said than done! Ice axes, crampons, and an ability to withstand freezing temperatures are all necessary for anyone looking to claim a trophy bull in full Winter coat.

    Thanks for the great adventures. I'm from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and will be heading to NZ March 30th. The lands are similar, but quite different. It'll be exciting to see new terrain. I'll be watching a few more of your videos before heading over for sure. - Scott

    Bloody Awesome Dave & thanks so much for putting the Full Ep up on You Tube, as I haven't got Sky.
    Must have been hard going karting all the filming equipment up around rocky iced mountain areas like that & looks like the hunters got the easy Job !!
    Hope they shouted you a Speight's back at the Mossburn Pub after all that effort mate !!
    Well done, Cheers !!

    Awesome video lads! What gun is Sam using? And what are you guys using in the end to protect the muzzle, just the classic electricians tape? Have you got any experience with shooting through it or are you taking it off before the shot? Anyways, thanks for the upload, unfortunately there is just no other way to watch it here in germany

      +Fabian Streit Hey mate, hoping to fix that problem of being unable to watch the series in Germany this year. We're going to be airing in Italy, Portugal and Spain over the coming months, with Germany next on our radar. To answer your question, Sam's using a Remington 700, 7mm mag, 154g SST. Pretty sure the guys simply fire through the electricians tape that they're using to prevent barrels getting gammed up with gunk.

      @SHAGSpearos 8 років тому +1

      The tape just pops off when you shoot due to the increase in air pressure as the bullet fires, it doesn't touch the projectile at all hence doesn't effect accuracy or anything like that. Common practice here in NZ

      +GKM2129 Hey mate, sorry for the delay. We were using Black Diamond tents, not sure on the exact model as I can't find it on their website anymore so may now be discontinued. Very good tents, lightweight and extremely robust.

    I must thank you for putting this up on you tube as Sky UK won't put anything involving shooting on the TV. Very well made and photographed, I really enjoyed it! It would be nice to know what calibre rifles you were using? Once again, well done lads!!

      +Simon Smith Cheers mate, pleased you enjoyed the episode. Sam was shooting a Remington 700, 7mm mag, 154g SST.

      SST's do make a good job of dropping animals although I have encountered severe blood blistering when using them. I now stick to Nosler Partitions. But at the ranges you lads shoot at I should think the SST is perfect for a clean kill. Thanks for the info and keep up the good work! Regards, Simon
