Good stuff! This year I will be growing 'Gros longue d'ete 2' and 'Bleu de Solaise' although normally I grow Musselburgh Giants.

Lovely video, I have just planted some leaks from seed in a small planter and was worried that the shoots were too close together, but I see now that they’ll be fine thank you so much for your tips and for making such a sweet video. I cannot wait to eat my crops coming winter should all go well.

I'm sure they'll be great! Nothing better than eating your own veg, enjoy 😀

Glad this popped up. Lovely greenhouse area and lovely yard. I am taking notes to learn and plant new items while it is horribly cold outside. Thank you!

Cheers for sharing , had a mare last year though where doing so well then the rain killed them off , apparently the roots got saturated! They were in a container though not in open ground

Wow those are lovely leeks, I notice your in Cornwall , so am I but my leeks never grew that fat and I sowed Musselburgh, however it was very dry last summer and of course we had a hosepipe ban, I also noticed you filled in the holes , most online gardeners just fill the holes with water which is what I did . Maybe I’ll try your way this time. Only just found this video so I’m going to see if there’s anymore 👍

    Love leeks!
Some of my favorites are the Babington topset leeks, abit smaller - you can harvest as 'cut and come again,' and they'll increase at the base, and plant the bulbils which grow from the flowers! I had a patch under my fig tree for 10 years - moved last fall, so starting again from the sets!

I planted some Flag Leeks in a planter indoors for the first time. I`m in Louisiana and I love onions so I assume I`ll enjoy leeks. I`ve never tried them. I prefer growing green onions to bulbs too. My leeks are doing well and are 3 to over 3 inches tall. I planted them about 16 days ago under a rectangular 17x7 inch LED panel light, full spectrum, on a 16/8 hour timer.

I think you're going to love leeks! They're so tasty, even just cooked on their own with a little butter and seasoning. Enjoy and happy growing, it sounds like the leeks themselves are spoilt rotten too! 🙂
