      Dan is not innocent, having children act out sexually provocative situations is SH. So he guilty of SH and AB. However, he is not the only guilty person, the executives are also to blame. They knew what was going on and did nothing to put a stop to it. Their only concern was how much money they were making. I just hope all the children that have been affected by this are getting the help they need.

      There is no "just right". I've dated women with terrible skin, buck teeth, flat chested or just plain ordinary. They were and still are beautiful to me. I've also dated two women who were Goddesses but in the words of my friends didn't "put out". I was never a very reliable boyfriend and knew I didn't want kids. In return I didn't have to perform like a circus bear and they felt perfectly comfortable wearing overalls and most of all safe around me. Yesterday was our 29th anniversary, some things are worth waiting for. Any woman looks good with a $500 haircut and 4 hours in the makeup chair. It's when you have to pill a sick cat you find out what beauty is.

      Agreed. And number one thing that needs to happen is for Hollywood to let go of their crazy ideals for perfection. As a director would focus on talent and not appearance. Many at Hollywood don’t realize that you can make something good without it having to be perfect.

      They should have a law where the child's parents cannot be their manager, only their parents.

    • @alyssapowell1799
      @alyssapowell1799 5 місяців тому +4

      The problem is their parents are some of the people they have to be protected from, and it's difficult to take that authority away from their parents to say what they can or can't do with their kids. These are the kids who achieved stardom - but it can be even worse when parents are chasing stardom for their kids. I've seen parents dragging their kids to a cartoon voice over session, then they have to rush off to dance and singing lessons and are being lectured about how much time and money their parents are spending on their "careers". It sets up kids to do whatever necessary to be successful, which makes them far more willing victims to predators. Or just burn out and feel horrible about themselves. You can say kids can only work X number of hours, but that's for a paid job. The kids who are "triple threats" being lugged around to acting, dance and singing lessons, auditions and unpaid work wouldn't be subject to those types of rules.

    I find it really hard to not understand Jennette McCurdy. After reading her book I can understand why she doesn’t see her self returning to acting. There was no safe place for her to be. Onset was a nightmare because of Dan Schneider and things were any easier back at home with her mom. However, what makes me the most upset was the show Sam and Cat. I don’t think I can ever get past the fact that Nickelodeon wouldn’t let Jeanette McCurdy have one day off and she had to turn down things that could help her career, but for Ariana Grande they had no problem with it whatsoever and attempted to work around it. For crying out loud there’s an entire episode where cat is stuck in a box

They don’t have a normal life to do things that kids do like play video games for example but with Jennette McCurdy, her story is pretty sad of what she went through because her mom forced her to do acting and she wanted to have a normal life, I’ve read her book narrated and her book is so amazing. It’s so emotional for me to read. I met her along time ago at capital records in Hollywood in 2011 they were doing a filming for the Food Network show cupcake wars to celebrate the release of her country music that she did when she was on Nashville and I was so lucky to see her there. I heard she spent three months in Nashville working on her record, but it’s so sad for what these child starts go through and they deserve a happy life.

Really? You're going to beat the kid with your belt? I got "the strap" (that beaded leather thing) across my palms in grade 2 in 1964. Told my dad 20 years later & he said if he had known he would have broken the principals jaw. I have a lot of respect for former Prince Harry for getting his family out of the nuthouse. He's done his time, two tours in Afghanistan and flew an Apache. Lots of people think he's just cashing in but he gets no money for security (he must be a target for lots of whack jobs) and got his family out of that nuthouse before it turned his kids into spoiled brats and his wife into some snobby witch. I want actors to be safe, have fun, and know that a good show can be made without perfection meaning they would get regular breaks and practice at their own pace. Most of all I would teach audiences not to expect perfection and not obsess over the stars because at the end of the day they are no different from you and me.
