Because nobody seems to know this; you can exit platos cave have a gnostic experience know everything about the tao or dao or whatever term you used and get pushed back into a semi iteration of your old position, that's why you should never trust isolated truth functions, the universe is too complex and nuanced...

If you don't like what you see don't look at it and if you don't like what you hear don't listen. Just because you're offended doesn't mean that you're right. Just live and let live. Great video.

Exactly. The question then is what to do about those who won’t let others live? I guess we show them how to let live, because if we don’t let them live then we become them.

Love your interpretations. I converse and I enjoy it, but I do not talk about politics, news, gossip. Sometimes my brain shuts down and I do not talk about anything. Sometimes it can be joyful to be in the company of another person and be silent. I'm 77 now and as I grow older, I value each moment and try not to waste these moments on unpleasant conversation.

I for one, enjoy not talking most of the time. Only when I have to practically speaking.. but life without the mind going and talking whirling around is unbelievable what you will see if you are truly present, the great unfolding Everything seemingly gets done that your talk is trying to achieve

I’ve always steered away from those who seem to love the sound of their own voice. I admire good speakers but, most of the time, I’d rather be alone and inquire within. Thank you both 👍 ☯

Great discussion! The issue is that I can't relate to people since I had a shift in awareness. One thing I noticed is that they are different around me --- their behavior changes and they are somehow uncomfortable or not themselves. Why is that? Did this happen to you, Jason? It's not easy to talk to people without an ego because they notice something different about me. I may be wrong but my strong presence forces them to be present or it evokes something in them that makes them flabbergasted. The react in front of me --- it's a strange reaction that I can't explain.

Thank you for this-now I will listen to the rest of the podcasts on this subject. FWIW, communication & community share an etymology, my inference being that the type of communication in a collective with be the type of community the collective is. If the communication is open & inclusive, so will be the community. If the communication is exclusive, so will be the community. If the subject of the conversation is excluded from the discussion, the community ceases to exist for that person.

There's an old man, maybe dead now, named Tom H., who is the grand sponsor of about 1/2 of the men in New York City AA, sober more than 40 years, and he was always fond of saying, "Anything that happens 12" away from my body is none of my business." I adopted that philosophy 20+ years ago and it's served me well. 😊

Also, in theWest, where we've turned democracy into a popularity contest [usually], it's more necessarily than ever to voice dissent from the coercion of government, especially a government comprised of those who pander for popularity and then wield power over others, IMO.

I'm a new roommate in a house where the wife yells at the passive husband often. Today she's whining and yelling again. The man just takes it. I wondered if he's being sage-like and just letting it go by himself. Yet his daily behavior doesn't indicate that it is the case.
I have no problem letting them continue, though it's loud. My hang up is letting it go. The thing to do is just let the world be and everything will work out. So if one day in the future he reaches his limit, then does something physical, the same rule applies. Wu wei. Would anybody reading this do something differently?
