Trevor does a great job highlighting and comparing luxury grills in this short video, but FWIW, the Temp Track feature of the Eagle One warrants further explanation because it is so unique. Through my due diligence research, I discovered that Twin Eagles engineered Temp Track to provide more accurate temperature readings by providing a visual representation of the average temperature inside the grill. Rather than having the typically inaccurate analog ambient air temp gauge on the hood, the Temp Track thermocouples are located under the grates closer to the cooking surface lower in the firebox and provide a more accurate temperature reading through the color-coded Temp Track. The temperatures represented by the lights are to be used as reference. Yellow = Low @130-300 degrees / Orange = Medium @ 300-450 degrees / Red = High @ 450-600 degrees. The last LED illuminates at 600 degrees. The grill surface can reach 900 degrees or more. Additionally, each temperature control knob has an LED colored light indicating the temp of that specific burner zone. Coupled with an accurate meat thermometer like a Meater 2 Plus and/or Thermapen One in your protein, you are good to go. As a prospective buyer of either the Hestan or the Eagle One, I drilled down on each model and compared features and customer reviews. In the end, although a bit pricier, I chose Eagle One. In addition to the sleek angular tactical aircraft clean look, I appreciated the 25,000 BTU burners, constructed of 14 gauge 304 stainless steel with lifetime warranty, individual zone heating, better exact control illumination, fully insulated control panel, Temp Track, two rotisserie levels, and a larger smoke box located on top of the burner - under the grate. Additionally, the Eagle One housing is also a bit beefier in construction and uses 1/2 inch chef grade hexagonal thick grates. Similar to the Hestan, the Eagle One also has options for wood/charcoal fuel tray and a griddle plate. I really like the Hestan, but I read many customer reviews that document flare-ups - too many to ignore. Not so much on the Eagle One. I also have no use for a broiler in addition to an infrared burner and a lid that can stop in any position. My grill is either fully open or closed for smoke. Just my two cents - Nuff said.
Only discovered this channel recently, been watching his videos from old to new and his kick game has improved and he’s looking good. Lost a bit of weight!!! Loving the content, keep it going!!!!
Just received my Hestan shipment. Ordered from Embers through Zaine. Obviously have not had to use customer service for any issues yet, but the order experience is great, your videos on here are great, the shipping to Illinois was great. This is the place to order from. I also ordered some electric heaters, and will order all future items through you guys. Hoping the grill and storage is great, but the service was phenomenal.
this guy does such a great job with videos. soooo honest. funny. comfy in front of camera. he should do infomercials. but, only if he's being 100 percent honest. so, he would have to tell the pros and cons of it. that's his lane !
Have had my Hestan 42 for almost a year now and love it, chose it largely based on the reviews here. I had a super minor issue when I got mine, the hood wouldn't stop at any spot correctly, support was --fantastic--. They had a hard time finding a local tech that could come out and tweak the spring but they kept me completely informed and tried like 3-4 different ones and got it fixed relatively quick. Super friendly and attentive which is nice when you're spending this kind of cash (you don't always get that).
Video is OK, but it lacks more comprehensive details that are very important. The grade of the steel of each internal and external components is far more important than a spring--which only serves to make opening an closing a bit easier. So is the flame manifold construction and material, the warranty and what accessories can be added optionally is also useful info. That's why I ended up going somewhere else--for a more comprehensive education.
I have a (hybrid) Kalamazoo...best grill out there for versatility and quality of construction and overall customer experience. That said...this video is reviewing Gas Grills...Kalamazoo is a whole separate category. I will be building a new place where grilling area will be on a covered wood deck, so pure gas grill is a better option for me (though wish I could take my Kalamazoo). Leaning toward the Hestan for this next project. I can appreciate these types of reviews.
I still like the Hestan a bit better, as I am looking for a 36 or 30-inch grill. I was looking at the Napoleon Prestige 500 Pro, but wow, these grills are so much more elegant and designed so well. The blue lighting on the Eagle One is as beautiful as the Heston. I do not really care for the lack of a proper thermometer. though. My only decision now is to go with the 30 or 36-inch Heston. I will be contacting you soon!
I've watched a lot of your grill reviews, and was wondering what you think of the XO lineup, I'm in the middle of designing an outdoor kitchen, and have used your videos to educate myself about grills, and to me it seems the OX checks a lot of the boxes you mention in your videos. thoughts?
How do the grill warranties impact your assessment? I think the Hestan grill is incredible but it looks like their warranty is only 1 year. Is that an issue for someone considering buying one when nearly every other manufacturer has a much longer warranty? (I think, at least...) (Also, thanks for all of your videos here - they have been incredibly helpful as I plan an outdoor kitchen!)
I haven’t seen that as too much of an issue. In my experience, sometimes your warranty is as good as the company you choose to buy from. For example, because we purchase over $500,000 a year in Hestan products. We can always get stuff pushed through after warranty, if we are the ones helping you. So give us a call and we can help with your order!
@@embersliving Thanks for the input. We are about 6-9 months from being ready to order the outdoor kitchen but will definitely be giving you guys a call when we are there.
@@embersliving you’re welcome to fly out to Northern CA and use mine. I have an EVO next to it in my outdoor kitchen too. My Kalamazoo has the updated grates too.
@@embersliving You do. First of all Hestan is an awesome grill. However, they take a major short cut. The area in between your burners - try putting white bread there. The trellis burners are exposed there to the surface (no metal/no ceramic briquettes. Ever notice that Hestan does not use ceramic briquettes to cover the entire surface? The trellis burners cover the surface of the grill - but without the ceramic briquettes between the burners = you get a vertical line of hot spots. Try your infrared gun.
@@johnhebda my criteria is different from everyone else’s. I like the DCS 9 the best overall - even heat (not Hestan), extra lighting for night time grilling, 304 steel throughout (not on the Lynx), less flare ups (vs Hestan). Obviously the Hestan and twin eagles have color - I’m into practicality. Alfresco would also be right up there.
@@jasonstein5179 Have you ever used American Made grills? Looking more seriously at these now and curious what your thoughts are cmopared to the others you mentioned. I was also thinking about Alfresco, too.
All bullshit! my Hestan did not last even 1 year. It's a great grill to look at and sell the features. But this is a SAFETY hazard. The wiring behind the control panel will melt when hot and will catch on FIRE between the knobs and firebox. POORLY engineered!!!! Heston should recall and fix this manufactured problem. But for $9000.00 plus there isn't any warranty after 1 year of purchase. I was stupid to think that the cost of the gill has quality build in. This guy must get a VERY Generous commission by selling these overpriced grills. Buy a Weber, a $2000 weber lasted me 15 years and i thought i deserved a better grill. Spending over $34,000.00 for cabinets, refrigerator, granite top, pavers to expand for my outdoor kitchen and plumbing for a gas line was a waste. This guy of course is selling this junk.. If the grill catches on fire and melts the electrical wiring, what good is it????
Lynx with Trident burners and a LSG pellet grill. Killer combo.

I have the hestan, it’s a great grill. I do wish the rotisserie was a bit easier to light on a windy day.
intresting
If Kalamazoo isn’t on your list than it isn’t a list.
We have some coming in for review

In person, the twin eagles isn’t even close to the hestan in how it looks. The hestan looks far more premium.
I agree I like the small details of the Hestan.
Im hearing a lot of flare ups due to lack of drainage on the hestan?? Are you experiencing that???
No flare ups here
great videos. The new DCS Series 9 models have a sear burner included. Would be curious to hear your thoughts on that long overdue addition.
Oh dang that sounds nice
What a fantastic store…. Great concept.
Thanks
hestan grills are dripping
Eagle one 💪
Great choice!
DCS is now owned by Haier, a Chinese company. Not sure if parts are sourced in China and assembled in Mexico.
Great video thx

Any chance you might review the OG Professional Grill (Officine Gullo)?
Hmm we dont have that one

thoughts on Wolf's? I had it narrowed to it and Hestan
Trevor prefers Hestan he has it in his own outdoor kitchen

I think you need to throw Alfresco in here
U think they will ever make an eagle one in 36 inch?
They used to buy discontinued it
I may be able to find one laying around though if you want one
