- Finally cracking into my Deadpool Marvel Legends case I received from Dorkside Toys! To start things off, because I absolutely couldn't wait any longer, the two star of the wave (for me, anyway) Cable and Deadpool. Some frustration here and there but mmmmmm, such 90s goodness, it hurts.

The short swords are intentional. I was a little unsure as well, so I went back and looked through some of Deadpool’s earliest appearances. His swords were noticeably short intially, so this is just Hasbro paying homage to that.

This may be my favorite Deadpool figure ever
Since they are doing 90's stuff and we are getting a Multiple Man, I want the 90's X-factor Team. Jacketed Havok, and Polaris (even though we just got a modern Havok and Polaris), but mostly want a Strong Guy.

Some New Mutant Xforce would be amazing. I would love a Moonstar with psychic arrows, Cannonball, Sunspot, Magma and Magik. Also would love some New Warriors love with Firestar, Justice, Namorita and Silhouette. Maybe even a Turbo.
It sucks we didn't get many accessories but this deadpool is still far superior to the juggernaut wave deadpool in articulation and looks. Will definitely get two so I can try to put the pouches and such on this deadpool

Originally I was going to grab Cable and skip on 90's Deadpool but now, after watching your review, I'm more sold on Deadpool and considering to wait for a good deal on Cable.
Picked up this DeadPool for $10 my first one ! Would you recommend grabbing this version of Cable as well .... I was going to grab the new movie Cable from Walmart tomorrow and utilize all those weapons for this Deadpool if this Cable was the better choice

The OG Deadpool wielded short katanas (wakizashi I believe). I just want figs of: Feral, Cannonball, Siryn, Sunspot, Domino (w/ bettter guns), & Warpath (BAF w/ knives).
Did Warpath have knives back in the X-Force days?
+The Fwoosh No, they were a gift from Storm (she gained access to vibranium during her marriage to Black Panther). I want a "mordern" X-Force Warpath as a BAF. They can make a classic version later down the line, when the X-men take over the MCU in a few yrs.

+SpecialK 33 Well, w/ what they did w/ Doc Ock's tentacles & the LLizard's tail, I don't have much hope for Nightcrawler having a good- prehensile tail. And I think once Disney gets the X-movie rights back, well be getting a lot of X-men figs (thankfuly they now make prettier female figs). They're already re-introducing X-characters into the Marvel vs Capcom games (which haven't been doing so well since the "X-Embargo").

I LOLed at the scooter shot with DP and Cable.
I really like the idea of parts not being glued to the figure. It makes it easy to cut them off, create molds, duplicate and use for customs.
That Cable head Mac! Reminds me of that Big Trouble In Little China scene where the dudes head blows up, haha
Just got my case Monday, love these 2. I have 2 of the Deadpool opened and 1 in a box. Want another Cable to have in a box as well.

Picked both of these up today.
8:03 the gun on the top is based off of the Nerf N-Strike Barrel Break and the gun on the bottom is based on the Nerf Doomlands Vagabond
I still love that Select Cable. If only they gave him bicep swivel, hell I'd buy him again.
I'm looking forward to picking these up though for sure. Glad I got Shatterstar. X-static and 90s X-Force need to be a must.
I so wanted to like that MS Cable but I just can't. It's like a store mannequin, or target practice dummy. I like the look, just needs a whole new body underneath.
I've seen some customs where they take off the shoulder pads and the head onto the previous ML Cabel. Part of me is still inclined to try that
I hope we get a re-release or new Cable in the new 97 X-Men wave.
when you compare their heads, you can tell how huge cables head is. it doesn’t look like he’s just a tall guy, it looks like he’s in a 7” scale
I feel like it's a go-to excuse now, especially with this set, but I kind of think that fits that crazy Liefeld era look too.
I've watched this video so much lol just ordered my Deadpool delivery it's still way too far ahead scheduled for may 27 I'm dying man😥
My Cable figure also has some loose joint specially that same elbow and those shoulders man you have to rotate it a bit to move it up not a fan of that. If you remove the shoulder pads you will see what is stopping the arm to go horizontal. But overall good looking piece and I like it
Could not agree more with your assessment of Daniel Way's take on Deadpool! I'll always be a fan of the character, but that series killed my interest in DP comics ever since.
Daniel Way! That's who it was! Yeah, I could not and still can't get into that run. Deadpool needs to be wacky, not three different kinds of wacky at the same time. Too much. And it take a lot for me to say that.

My vintage marvel legends deadpool didn't come with the choker......its been a year since I bought this figure and the strap has snapped!

Good review, sucks that you got bad figures. Hasbro joints are too hit or miss sometimes. Still getting both as they are my most wanted outta this wave

Dang it this makes me want to go and hunt that cable XD.
The issue with my deadpool is that he misses the black choker thingy on his neck when he came out of the package (if ya haven't notice robo his choker on his neck and the bracelets on his wrists and ankles are removable) so I had to improvise and made my own choker for his neck, and the paint does a bit messy. I got a tiny smidge of black paint on his red part on his right thigh. If you want you can use the revoltech deadpools katanas if you want a much longer sword, it fits perfectly on his hands

Fwoosh both of the arms are new sculpts on cable. Look at the bicep anatomy compared to the Hyperion arm.
Yeah, it was hard to tell with the veining and striations, and I wasn't sure if Nuke used the same as Hyperion. No idea how I missed Nuke...
The Fwoosh no lol nuke has the same shitty arms but this new 90s cables biceps and forearms are new idk if you follow mayshelf on Instagram but he actually sculpted all the new parts for this figure 🙂

Which Cable would you pair with a Revoltech Deadpool?
I'm really liking this 90s Cable a whole lot more. His head is huge next to the Revo Deadpool but the styles kind of fit.
I found Deadpool today at GameStop but they told me that they couldn't sale it till April 13th.
Yeah, there's actually a street date but TRU gave up caring about that kind of stuff when they decided to shut down.

The Fwoosh and today 4/6/18 I found and bought Domino at Wgreens and grey and red Dedpool at a different GameStop location and they sold them to me with no problem.
What do you think of the idea of using the Marvel Select Cable head on this body?
I actually did that on my Instagram, @fwooshrobo It looks good proportionally but just doesn't have that Liefeld flair. I'm keeping the Select gun though!
The thing with the swords is that they're not katanas. They're ninjatos, that's the reason of the size.

The loosenes of joints is inherent to this kind of joint design. Thats why I cannot stand black series. I wish they came up with similar joints as the one shf use. I've had Greedo and the fact that the joints were loose in certain range, but super stiff in the ther just annoyed the hell out of me. I guess I am bit pedantic when it comes to collecting, and such imperfections drive me mad.
Does cables big gun attach to his back it looked to have a hole on one side and a peg on his shoulder armour
Holy hell, it does. I saw the peghole in the gun, even looked in the hole thinking there was a screw or something, but then missed that peg completely. It plugs there and looks great, along with being able to now hold all three weapons on the figure.

so does anyone know how to tighten joints?
I think the most common way these days is to apply some floor polish or clear fingernail polish. It thickens up the joint a bit for more friction.
This is barebones for even a $20 figure. The iron spider is the same. I hope this isn't the new normal for hasbro. Gimme some more accessories or something man like with the other deadpool. No guns is kinda ridiculous with a deadpool.

I still like that one but the articulation there seemed a little awkward for standing vanilla. I think I'm starting to sway in this wone's direction. But agree, any Deadpool...

I loved X force as a kid, I still have my first appearance of deadpool. I agree about liefelds art, we used to joke about it as kids that he couldn't draw feet so you've always got a little hill or Boulder or smoke obstructing the feet. Bad as thumbnail by the way
Yeah, we can pick it apart all day but there still a nostalgia there, haha. Like going back and watching cartoons from when you were a kid. Sometimes it just shouldn't be done.
The Fwoosh haha yes, totally. I had that experience with the movie legend....loved it as a kid; tried to watch a couple years ago and couldn't make it past 30 minutes
