The fact that Ed "has heard all about" the Gentleman pirate, and introduced himself as Ed so as not to be judge by Stede as Blackbeard but so that he gets to know Ed first 😭 it was only when Stede opened up to him and even showed him a secret room that he told him "no, I'm Blackbeard"
