My Macbook Air M1 is still worth it so an M2 will be more than fine.

i went for the m2 pro as well. the difference in performance is basically none existant and the difference in price defo is haha. only downside i would say is the "lower" battery life. with the m2 pro they overclocked the cpus to allow better performance over the m1 and in doing so it draws more battery power but ez fix is to enable low power mode while on battery. same performance but much better battery life. enjoy ur new machine broski!

Pretty much, specifically for my use case the difference in performance in day to day tasks is not very noticeable in comparison to the price difference between the 2.
The M3 pro chip is still the newer and better chip but the greater memory bandwidth in M2 pro chip MacBook has reduced the gap between the 2 in certain use cases from what I’ve seen
