- I'll let you in on a little secret -- when this new 1200RR was in the show room, I was pricing it out and I was JUST about to buy one but in the end we didn't agree on the price. Just recently I got the chance to ride it for the first time and wow what a bike! Enjoy!

What other bikes are competing with this Speed Triple 1200RR? Leave a comment below..
#1 Competitor would definitely be the Tuono no idea why so few reviews directly compare them.
Both make similar power and the Triumph beats it on torque.
The RS has a similar set up to the base Tuono and the RR mirrors the Factory, actually can the Factory get heated grips?
Much lower priced competition I would say are the CB1000R and the Katana both 150hp~ Neo Retros.
There's also the Superveloce but that's just a full on F3 with Cafe fairings and it's even more expensive than the RR for lower specs.
Great video, for sure. Love seeing the bikes showcased on your channel. Looked like you got it up to 158. I'm sure you could have gotten another 20+ mph out of it. 😊 yeah, you needed more time on the "Rancor" nicknamed 😂 Mirror is properly tighten now.
TBH, I don't even notice the vibration or it doesn't bother me. The bike was in "road mode" with TC on and all the "nanny's" associated with that setting. Turn off TC, and the wheel will lift off. It was in comfort. Which is a much softer ride then it's RS counterpart. The Ohlins 2.0 suspension is great. The bike is a refined gentleman's sport ride. Doesn't claim to run with the 200+ SBK's.
Thanks again for venturing out to AZ. Can't wait for your comparison on the Daytona Moto2 and Street Moto2 and your RS.
Great video 👍
I have a white one as well; mostly for track. What windscreen is that please? I’d like one higher than OEM. I have Puig and that one in this vid seems higher.
Hmmmm, I'm seeing a future of like when we installed Ninja parts/tunes in the Concours. Egine mods/tunes of this triple will be nuts.
The motorcycle 🏍 is amazing
only 177hp?....lmao....your question is very good since I don't see the Speed Triple competing with the >200hp superbikes, but it is definitely a cut above the 140-160 entrants....perhaps the Hayabusa?....I can't stand the keyless wave that is starting to take over....someone needs to tell manufacturers that space it at an absolute premium when riding a bike with no storage....just piss off and give me a simple key that inserts into a manual ignition.
Ya that triumph key thing is ridiculous.. Where do I safely put this key when I am doing a track day with full leathers? smh..
@PetroHead yeah, the FOB is half the size of the holder. So not as big as you showed in your palm. That holder had a clip so that you could just hook it somewhere in the cockpit. No worries having it buldge.
But what I don't get at all is "why"? I see clear benefits in having keyless ignition for cars as there is obvious convenience. In bikes however I just do not see any advantages. All I see is something that periodically needs a new battery, and about $400 for a new one if anything happens to it or it gets lost.@@TriumphLover
@@CaptainFeathersword if it was up to me I'd want a key. The keyless is a pain in the ass. I'm not trying to defend it.
❤❤
You have to turn off the tc in track mode to do power wheelie. 1st gear power wheelie easy.
got to at least put it in sport mode, its a noticeable difference
I feel the Yamaha MT 10, KTM Super Duke 1290, and Aprilia Tuono are competing. It’s weird the 1200 is kind of between a sport and naked bike. I love the howl but still seems restricted.
The bike has a DNK tune and unrestricted.
Should get up to 180 mph. I'm a chicken 🐔 to try. I thought Petro was going to do it, but he backed down...
, I see. It’s a nice bike!!
@@TriumphLover, I don’t blame you guys but im sure it’s more than capable.
All CGI with AI voice.
your hands are tiny that key is small in my hands lol
the fuel tank is way too long, one almost lies on the bike to grabe the handlebar, and I am above average height
Would you get this over moto2?
I rather not share my opinion because I know people have their self esteem tied to their toys and saying something they don't like is like a personal attack.. Bahh... you know what.. screw it.. I wouldn't buy either.. The 1200RR will be a nightmare to resell and the Moto2 is a huge cash grab by Triumph. My 2020 is just as good and no one wants to buy it.. Had it for sale for like 6 months.. had like 2-3 low ball offers. Triumph makes amazing bikes but resale market is terrible.
@PetroHead these haven't sold well and they are discontinued. New here in Australia they've dropped $7000 to clear them. I wanted one till I rode it. It's competition is probably better but not better looking. Your street triple won't sell most likely because they are so popular and the market is flooded. Certainly is here in Australia. They don't hold value. Theres just too many of them. I have a daytona and a speed triple 1050. Love them both and I do want a new Street triple but I'll wait until there's some 2nd hand available. Loved the moto2 but they're asking over new prices for them 2nd hand now.
Make no mistake.. these new triumph bikes are the best they’ve ever been.. buying new is risky and then selling without a massive loss is a big risk too. I don’t have the stomach for it. I took my Triple to a wholesaler and they wanted to give me less than 6K for it.. wtf
@@PetroHeadI'm not worried about buying something I love to think about reselling it 2 or 3 years later. The numbered Moto2's are like collectors items. Sure a "cash grab" but you're getting something that's not going to be produced again.
My #1 rule.. don’t fall in love with a stripper or a depreciating asset. Collector items go up in value, not down. Example.. The Daytona 765 moto2 is sitting in showroom floors with 300 miles for 13k and no one wants it.. (3+ months) down 5K since 2020.. I went to buy it, they wanna give me 5k for my triple.. gtfo I’ll keep it. onyxmoto.com/inventory/2020-triumph-moto2-765-2/
So youre the guy who finds it comfy, lol
I ride the most aggressive bikes on the planet.. this bike is a lazy boy compared to what I ride lol
@@PetroHead ok, what do you ride, give examples
It’s out in the open look around the channel
