I live in Gaslamp downtown. Pros: Walking distance to entertainment Cons: Downtown is dirty and noisy. Lots of transients Some food can be expensive. Large crowds on weekends. The best place to live in downtown is Little Italy. Clean Safe But good luck finding parking. Great video!
I lived in Bankers Hill...just above Little Italy, and visited every day. I find the accommodations anymore are way too expensive. To rent a studio there is just prohibitive financially 😐. How someone with a regular job can afford Little Italy is something I cannot figure out.
You’re absolutely right. The average wages in SD are not compatible with the current rental market. Little Italy also blew up during covid so it’s become in high demand. Oceanside and Spring Valley are becoming the next hit spots.
