    This is the most informative video of Downtown San Diego with its different neighborhoods for a non-local. Spent a month in La Jolla a few years ago and didn't really explore the Downtown area. I need to revisit.

      For a small city it has very different neighborhoods for sure. Little Italy is my favorite spot right now although I love hitting the Padres games. Have you been to a pads game yet?

    I’m so glad someone made a video just on Downtown San Diego. I’ve been looking for this for awhile but mostly find north county or the whole county videos. I’m in my mid-twenties and looking for the beautiful Southern California climate but a dense walkable area. It seems like Downtown San Diego sounds like a great option.

    You have great high energy and so filled with useful information. In 1988,I lived in downtown near the old library. The convention center was being built ,they were tearing down old buildings and putting up new ones. I had a rob
    bery so moved to Normal heights ,then North park .and Hillcrest. I moved away to N .California in 1992.I now live in Connecticut .Thanks for doing these videos of San Diego, they are always entertaining and useful.

      @@wesleyguest I remember there were small theaters showing Foreign and or Art films. It was kind of funky a lot of Vegetarian places .I worked at a small Health food store in Hillcrest for a few years. It was fun to walk around even at night .The buses were good too until I got a car .If i ever were to relocate back there, I'd definitely look you up!

      @@wesleyguest I first moved there in 1969, it was great then and affordable, sad that it has become a millionaire vacation spot. When they started building all those expensive highrises and locals were not living in them, but they were on vacation or Airbnb etc. I know my beautiful city was lost to us in the middle class.

    Downtown has gotten rid of all affordable housing. It's become a neighborhood for the rich. Very gentrified. A serious lack of public parking. Virtually no free parking. Lots of eyesore buildings. East Village is just sad, especially near the City College Trolley Station.

    • @wesleyguest
      @wesleyguest  9 місяців тому

      I would go further and say the San Diego has done away with a lot of affordable housing, but that term is relative. There are people who live there that can absolutely afford it. I feel like the part of East Village near city college is almost no man's land. I am never over there. No reason to unless I suppose someone lived in Broadstone or Union Square. Thanks for watching and the comment!

      So many good options. If I didn't live here, I would be seeking out something near the beach. The catamaran is a great suggestion, right there in mission beach. That's a true beach community if that's what your looking for, very tourist friendly. You also have other hotels that are good around there like the Bahia, the Hyatt, the Hilton, the Dana Inn. Lots of good options. Downtown has several resort style hotels that are great like the Hyatt and the Marriott resorts. You cant stay at either of those and not have a great time in San Diego. Most points of interest throughout San Diego county will be within easy distance from either of those locations.

      Everything is so pricey right now and going up still. I don't know of anything at your budget in the city unfortunately.There are probably shared roommate situations that might be around that price but if you don't want roommates, I know that will suck. Good luck and thanks for watching!

      Tough question. Personally, my guard is up as it gets later in the evening everywhere. Anything after 10:30pm and people are drinking so anything can happen as well. I'm personally not a big fan of spending anytime in East "East" village unless I have to be there.
