My Dad was still farming in 1971. In fact he passed away in 74. Coming up on 50 years later this year. I remember one two farms south of use. I watched it sell on a retirement auction. Thank you for the memories Chris.
I always shut the gas off and let it run until the carburetor runs out of gas when storing tractors. So it took a minute to get the gas flowing again 🙂 I appreciate you stopping by!!
Nice work Chris and crossing that creek looks fun but at the same you never know what’s gonna happen. Take care and have a blessed day and week ahead my friend.
The creek can fool you- when the water is up, it can wash holes into the crossing that you can't see until your driving through them. Thank you for taking the time to stop by!!
We have a friend that Moved back from Texas and opened a Race Horse Training facility about 10 miles west of us.. When we were row cropping we rented about 50 acres from him.... He has this "mountain" of Stall cleanings in a field behind the Barns.... I would guess he has been collecting for 40 years.... He gave it to us,.... I sent Samples to Clemson to be analized ........ Due to bedding material (wood shavings) we would have to add extra Nitrogen just to aid in the decomposition .... therefore the cost of spreading plus the cost of the extra Nitrogen would cost more than just spreading the blend of fertilizer recomended by the soil test...... We also over the years have learned that The money you save spreading chicken litter, you spend in Herbicides to control weeds and grasses introduced into the Hay field in the litter.....
Man yeah Mr Chris, loved the 544 on that task!! Those wider front wheels really set it off 😁😁 I been meaning to ask, how often if any do you have to work the creek crossing? I'm sure with y'all's rock the creek bottom stays put, but what the edges? I am ready from spring, the frogs were singing yesterday about 62 and plenty of sunshine!! Thank you sir for the ride, and very done on the editing 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It depends on how much it rains, but usually at least 5 times a year we have to go in and reposition the rocks on the bottom to make it safe to cross. I am ready for Spring too, and can't wait until it is 62 again here! Thank you my friend 🙂
@@dehavenfamilyfarm best way to do it!! Especially if you have the 💩gas we have here!! We avoid using it in equipment.. causes too many issues in the older gas engines... and small engines.
The creek was up a little, but there were some holes to watch out for in the crossing that got created from the last big rain. It can be nerve racking to cross sometimes. Thank you Pete 🙂

That's a fine little tractor there!
Perfect tractor for that job 👏
It sure is, and it was great to be out on a tractor this time of year!
Nice video, and nice tractor!
Thanks for the ride along😊
Thanks for watching!!
Excellent video - fine tractor…👍
Thank you! It is a very versatile size tractor.
Gd day from Ontario. Boy that 544 looks big, sounds good. Boy put some old oil on spreader jack.
Thanks
Overall it's a pretty nice tractor. I think I just need to replace the jack 😂
Very nice Chris, that is a tight fit between the wall and the C's tire
Thank you! Yes, I try to squeeze equipment in as tight as I can 😂
at the beginning the 544 seemed like it didn't want to go out and play ... always enjoy watching, thanks for taking the time to do these videos.

@@dehavenfamilyfarm Thank you for the info Mr Chris!! 😁😁
Good morning Chris ☕☕☕
A Little Cranky it seems..lol
Good evening Ed! I had ran the carburetor out of gas when I parked the tractor in there, so it took a minute to get going 🙂

Nice tractor
Thank you!!
Good job applying the organic fertilizer! Was the creek running a bit high from snow melt?

Did you ask your daughter if you could use her tractor? LOL. Thanks for the ride along and sharing.
No I didn't, but when she found out, she did not approve of me using it for manure duty 🤣
