Connection issues with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Toyota

The three most common issues connecting both CarPaly and Android Auto are covered in this video. It is almost always one of these three issues and I show you how to correct it. Depending on the specific model, this applies to 2018-2024 Toyota models with the wired version of these applicaitons.

Hey steve. Just got my Toyota Yaris yesterday. Really nice car.
The android auto was not enabled in the menu like you showed. I then flipped it on, but it does still not connect.
The phone and cable works fine in my parents car. Do you have any ideas or should I go to the dealer with the problem. The phone does charge fine.

@@djmaggen hmmmm… not really sure. First thing is to figure out if it’s a phone issue or a car issue. See if other phones will work in the car and if your phone work in other cars. You said your phone charges in your parents car, but does Android Auto work? Some older Android phones don’t work at all and the ones with the USB mini connection will not work. Only phones with USB-C on the phone end will

Where can you buy one of those wireless adapters for Apple Car play ? And do they work well. What brand does any one hrecommend that works better than others . I have a 24 4 Runner and I am disappointed with the entertainment system and video quality of the backup camera and panoramic front view camera. Much less the wired Apple Care play.

@@Tundra-pw2cu I don’t have a specific recommendation but they are all over Amazon for about $60. Mine works well but sometimes cuts out when first starting out. There is a noticeable delay as well but overall I’m happy with it

@@vencislavvankov4897 of several have not worked, it’s likely a phone issue connecting to it. Or you’re not plugging into the correct port. Make sure you’re using the one with the USB symbol and not one with the lightning bolt

@@TrainerSteveClifford I'm using the correct port because with a cable everything is fine. But with a Wi-Fi module it does not work.

I usually can clear the phone port of lint, etc with a straightened paper clip.
