So I am wondering how you feel about the numerous ways these runes are used now in everything from witch craft to reiki. So many people using rune stones or "signing in this symbol" in healing videos. Does it sometimes feel like cultural appropriation? I will admit that, when I see the rune symbols, they feel magical or powerful.
I would feel the same way if they where using the English alphabet. Just as silly, but at the end of the day if you put enough intent into anything you can get results. I don't consider it cultural appropriation personally, partly because all they are taking from my ancestors culture is the alphabet but also because people have a tendency to take anything old and put it on a pedestal
