That tip really helped. I didn't realize that my chin going for a ride on my left shoulder was the main culprit of my push, especially on my long irons.
I watched this video and went to the range. One bucket, with a PW and 7 iron and the block is gone. Getting my left shoulder away from under my chin is a great swing thought. Thanks very much for helping me.
I line up closed because that’s the way Ai learned to eliminate my slide. And I like that draw. But once in a while I block it. I use the square-to-square method so my stance at address is that of impact for other golfer. I think my block may be when I try to put so ‘go juice’ on the ball, push my hips forward, thus opening the club face to match my club path. Keeping my weight onto my left foot throughout the swing and until impact usually prevent the block.
WHAT THE HECK, THIS WORKED!!!! I decided, you know what, the comments are say yes it worked, so I tried. Mind you I fixed my weighting by standing on my heals and not my toes ( So no more heal shots or shanking), so striking became great. But then I started hitting straight right. Mate, I am a high handicapper, using X-stiff ( Don't ask ) and I did your technique, now my 7 Iron went from 130m (If I could actually hit it back then) to 150m, up in the air, straight, great flight. (75% of the time) and that's just first time trying it out, playing today. Tried with my bro's club which had reg shaft, same flight, but had more offset and went even better. Long irons 5 and 4 is a struggle though. but not because of this. Clubs used = JPX 900 forged - X100 dynamic gold
Hi Mark. Play my golf local to you on the links. My 3 wood is the only club I block right. Particularly since I bought the Ping G425. Is this a shaft issue? Great video.
@@markwoodgolfacademy Yes, it’s the standard shaft. It does feel soft on the down swing. I’m no expert but it feels open on impact. I don’t have a fast swing, around 93mph with the driver.

Hi John
so pleased that my tip has helped you, keep up the great golf.
You said so much in just three minutes! Well done and thanks a lot.
Thanks for the feedback
Thanks Mark, for the last week or so this has been me. Hitting the ball like a rocket, but, dead blocks. I’ll keep these thought in mind
Great video. The tip suggesting to get the shoulder away from the chin at the top of the swing helped me tremendously.
Left shoulder out of the way fantastic thanks mark
Brilliant presentation. Short and to the point. Many thanks

Hi Eric pleased that it has helped you.
I guessed that was the problem, but didn't have a trigger to solve it. I have now. Thanks, Mark.

Nice work, always keep the club closing to the path for that powerful draw shot ⛳️⛳️
Brilliant. Thank you

It could well be, what shaft is in it, is it the standard alta cb?

@@kev12558 might be worth going back to get it check out where you got it fitted. Might be worth trying different shaft options.
I think the left shoulder idea might be the key. Assume the same theory works for driver?
Yes it does indeed, give it a try 👍👍
@@markwoodgolfacademy thanks mate - will do!!
I'm gonna try this tomorrow
let me know how it goes, best of luck.
