    Dialogue in a nutshell
    1) Farha (lady): No means no. Men should take no as the absolute answer.
    2) Destiny: Okay, but there are ladies who play hard to get, and lie about the "no"s when they actually mean yes. Men have to play psychic about women's ambiguity.
    3) Farha (lady): But no means no.
    4) Destiny: Yes okay - no means no. But the onus should also be on women to be honest with their "no"s. That way the confusion can be cleared out.
    5) Farha (lady): But why can't guys just take no for an answer?
    6) Destiny: Because

I don’t see “no means no” being a bad thing to push though. Because it also implies the solution from the female end, when a woman says “no” to a guy she wants to try harder and he says “okay” and pursues a different woman… they’ll learn to be more forward and truthful with their statements.

you're right in theory, the issue is the overlap or lack thereof, guys might not consider an action as 'pushing a boundary' when the women certainly do and women might consider a response to be 100% clear when for men it is anything but clear. In the end both parties think they were doing the correct thing but couldn't be further from reality.

Related topic: When a woman rejects a guy by saying "I'm just not ready for a relationship right now", they shouldn't be surprised when he asks them out in the future. In their mind, they were letting him down easy. In his mind, he may take them at their word that they aren't ready for a relationship now which means they might be ready in the future.
Women, you aren't letting him down easy. He would to be far less hurt if you just said something like "I'm flattered but I just don't see you that way." Because at some point (probably two weeks later) he'll see you in a relationship and be far more hurt because he waiting thinking he still had a chance not knowing you lied to him.
Men: If she says "I'm not ready for a relationship right now", most of the time, she means she doesn't want a relationship with *you*
Now, to be fair, part of the reason women use these roundabout phrases is because some guys don't know how to act and freak out when they get outright rejected. Men need to do a better job of handling rejection so women feel more comfortable saying what they actually mean.

If a woman does NOT want to do anything, she has zero problems saying NO. she can say all those other words so a simple no isn't hard. Some chicks love stringing a guy along bc it gives them value and power per se 🙄
"I'm making him horny like that"
So they enjoy leaving a guy like that they giggle about it in their little groups the next day. The "u go gurrrllll" pats on the back. Then they wonder why guys ignore them and end up being happier with an actual woman 😆
They get use to playing games. They have zero clue what kind of person they're gonna come across while playing around. Sometimes they don't care if u say no. And yes that'd be really bad. That's why u don't goto a person's house if u don't see then "like that".

This conversation is actually painful. As a man, you’re supposed to respect a woman’s boundaries even when they’re not being clear on what those boundaries are. Destiny’s point is simply that then women have to speak up clearly so that men can take those boundaries seriously and not as a mixed signal so that nobody gets hurt due to a miscommunication. This push & pull is something that is almost expected when courting someone. The man always has to push onto the next step but only if the woman allows it. Let’s try to make sex safer for both men & women. Things aren’t always black & white. There are also shades of gray and she just can’t possibly accept that as a possibility. The fuckboys and straight up criminals are going to be those guys that keep pushing and don't take no for an answer. At that point we need women to be more fkn assertive and clear with their boundaries, but it seems like feminists don't actually want to help women.
"Why can't no just mean no." Well... cuz the criminal or fuckboy just don't care and at that point the woman needs to fight back and be clear and not just let the fuckboy wear them down. @@Rexolf101 Analogies never work 100%. The best analogy is the real thing.
Sometimes, a girl really wants to have sex in that moment, but she has something else she doesn't want to happen...e.g. She isn't wearing the ideal underwear, doesn't think she smells as nice as she would prefer in that moment, the grass doen there isn't cut, or something.
So she doesnt want to say no, because she wants to say yes, but she also doesn't want to tell you her grass isn't cut or she doesn't think she currently smell nice, and she doesn't want to portray herself in a bad or embassaring light by saying my vagina is unwashed or unshaved.
So instead you get a bunch of vague excuses that don't make sense, you provide solutions to her excuses, that end up putting her in a corner...but she doesn't want to say no, or say why the current moment is not ideal.
The other reason is, women make decisions based on how they feel in the moment. So at the start of when a guy tries his luck, many times the guy will know he's gonna get a no even without asking, but he also knows that if he changes how she feels (turns her on), the decisions she'll make has the potential to change accordingly(the guy knows this from experience).
Which is how guys get into a situation where they try to get to first base, second base, etc. All to get her in the mood enough where the no might become a yes. Or the guy talks dirty to get her in the mood, or whatever.
It's better to not play that game with someone you don't already know, intimately.
In the past, I used to just immediately stop trying to get anything from the wishy washy ones the moment I realize she's wishy washy, and end that pursuit.
But, then you end up with the psychobitches. Because only the crazy ones are forward enough to not be wishy washy and more direct. The type that accuses you of things you didn't do, when things don't go her way and she gets psycho.

    • @Noobcake-mm3vd
      @Noobcake-mm3vd 4 місяці тому

I think I know what you are trying to say but you missed the point somewhat or I think this analogy doesn't translate perfectly.. All three examples can actually mean the same thing that they absolutely do not want to swim. However, the question is, what if the person actually wants to swim but just wants the person in the pool to keep asking them because it makes them feel important etc. In other words, they want to swim but don't want to be forward about it. In this case, they may use a vaguer statement as it allows them to not look totally inconsistent when their true intentions are revealed later. I am not sure if any of the quotes in your example are appropriate, but I suppose "The water is too cold and I'm tired" statement could be used in this case as the person could claim that they suddenly got a burst of energy to save face.
Where Farah (and possibly even yourself to a degree) are confused is that Destiny is actually stating that all statements can absolutely mean No and thus all 3 statements can mean the same thing. However, Destiny is proposing that the statement should match the actual wishes of the person as best as possible. If they truly meant No, then all statements mean the same thing but stating "I don't want to swim" creates a better understanding of reality in a cultural sense (in other words, it is more educational). However, if they actually mean Yes or are at least open to a Yes, it is more ideal that they use language that lines up with those wishes. So ideally "sure, I would love to swim " but something like "I'll be in the pool in 10 minutes" is close enough to the reality.
I think Farah got completely stuck in Destiny's prescriptive statements. The problem here surfaces in the descriptive realities where some women may be hesitant to be forthright for fear of losing value in the sexual marketplace. There can be no fool proof prescription whilst that descriptive reality exists. Because then the guys who treats every No as actually meaning No would have reduced sexual opportunity (as compared to men who push the boundaries more).

The Lack of critical thinking on Farha's side is unnerving.
    1) She doesn't even attempt to clarify what "No" means to her.
    2) A lack of trying to find common ground in the conversation to clear up the misunderstanding.
Destiny: is trying say to say is that a No when trying to have sex should mean: Setting a boundary that leaves ZERO room for interpretation aka (spelling out exactly whats appropriate during a night) That falls on the women typically because men are always the ones expected to pursue.
Now it falls on Men to respect this No and to not push that choice.
Farha: Thinks that no, can come in a lot of forms and that men need to at the first hint of a no need to stop pursuing sex altogether. That a "no i think I'm not ready right now" carries the same weight as a "No, we are no having sex tonight" (problem is what does "right now mean...." like 5 mins form now, an hour from now is going to be cool"
Problem: Women right now are ambiguous with the word no....and depending on how she says no... this can lead to actually not fucking or fucking. Leaving the responsibility on the man to figure out what she really means.
Solution: Women should be very clear with Enthusiastic Consent AND When saying no, saying EXACTLY what's ok and not ok for her at that moment.
Men should then take what women say at face value and don't trying and interpret what "no' means.

When, we started getting all over each other in the cab on the way home and at her place, I said “you said we’re not having sex tonight, so we’re not, is that cool. We can tomorrow if you like?” - and basically at that point she said she wanted to and was happy to and we ended up having a nice relationship for a year or so. But I think in that scenario it’s way better to just be clear and as the man say you won’t because of what she has told you previously.
TBH speaking with my mates, I think this is something women will say occasionally, often to put the thought of coming back to their place in mind if you’ve had a nice date, but it is one of the more worrying situations to be in.
But always pays to be clear, it’s better to risk killing the mood briefly by saying because you said x we’re not doing x, than risking any of the much worse outcomes for both of you.

It's like trying to explain a complicated sport to someone with no experience and no interest in playing, plus they just want to only recognize the written rules when it turns out most games are played with a complicated set of unwritten rules that both sides kind of understand are part of the full set of rules. Farha legit thinks you can have a passionate night with someone when you speak like Clay from 13 reasons why, aka super beta always affirming consent cuck. Farha thinks a guy will ask can I touch your leg and the women will say yes and be excited by it rather than get turned off by the 4th or 5th attempt to move to say foreplay or even sex. At some point the communication become unspoken and it is up to the party that no longer feels comfortable to verbally state stop. TikTok feminism argues that women deserve all the freedom but none of the accountability. And that’s what she’s arguing. You should have the freedom to hook up, and the freedom to say you’re not going to hook up and then do it anyway, and the freedom to decide that’s grape, and never have to take accountability for the fact that you were insanely ambiguous about the whole thing. I don’t think most women would agree. That’s why it’s TikTok gender war nonsense. She could also never defend this nonsense, so she’s just eternally obtuse. Notice she asked way more questions than she gave prescriptions. She’s just making the situation more nebulous and annoying so she can pretend like they had a stalemate and therefore both their opinions are valid. That’s her whole worldview. Her whole world view is based on the idea that her world view and your world can’t be proven so their equally valid and she can just ask questions all day and act like we can all never know. Except she also acts like she knows. It’s an incoherent mess born out of women desiring to be the main characters. It’s a cluster b ideology.

It gets dangerous when you don't know the girl.
The safest way to deal with that, is to flirt, and progressively try to be obvious and direct while flirting and joking light heartedly. Most times, she'll stop flirting and entertaining the jokes of your intentions at the point where her boundary lies...then you'll know it's a dead end without having to touch her. If a guy is still pursuing a girl that's obviously not that into him, or wishy washy, they should make what he's doing a crime.
