- How to do Farming at the Coldest inhabited place in the world -71C/-95.8F - Yakutia, Siberia
My parents' farm in Yakutia - the coldest inhabited place in the world. The coldest ever registered temperature in my region is -71C/-95.8 F. This video is about how they feed, water and take care of their animals.
This is only a winter part of daily routine of farmers. In summer it's a bit different.
Being a farmer is not easy at any part of this world and Yakutia is not an exception.

I will never get tired of hearing Maria say "oh, it's not too cold today....it's only -32°"
I had to rewind the video to be sure i've heard it correctly.
This morning i woke up and thought it was cold, it was 0°C, i'm so spoiled hahaha
Totally cant relate, i lived in tropical country and it was 22 C almost everyday 🥲
Oh._32 is not c old?? Oh the wors experience I had when we visited astana.was -24.was really verycold for me..only Less than 20mins. We were outside.my hands was very trembling.with 2 uses of gloves. I thought that time ohh Phillippines was very nice country for me.
My dad was named bob Schneider..I am glad to see your name
Wierd post but you brought me good memories today sir.
Ha.. Ha...
My dog (Irish greyhound) at 5 degrees celcius: *Trembling* acting like he's freezing to death when we stop walking for a minute.
Yakutian cows at -32 degrees celsius: Yeah, this is fine, lets have a nice drink from this frozen lake.
Such an interesting video! I love this type of day in the life content.
haha, true! Yakutian cows don't give a s.t! "Just break that ice, human, we need to drink"
Cows said mooo, mooo, mooo!!
Where I live in Scotland we just had winds of nearly 140mph batter our east coast. Caused absolute carnage in some areas. The sheep in the field next me were still grazing during the storms peak 🤣
@@scottwhitley3392 lol
I mean thats not a fair comparision. Tolerance for both cold and heat is learned. If your used to a cold place you will struggle in really warm places. Dogs used to the temperatures of your home, will find it cold once they have to go outside and it's 5 degrees outside. Unlike people they can take off and put on their coat for walkies. So it's not fair to compare your dog's reaction (an animal used to living inside a warm human home) to that of those cows (used to living in -32 degrees). People and animals adapt and can train cold and heat tolerance. But just because some human in the world can handle minus 32 without problems doesn't mean some noob with no experience and tolerance would be able to handle it. Temperature tolerance takes time. Those cows would probably struggle if you flew them over to australia, at least at first.
+32°C is normal temperature in the tropics while the opposite is normal in your country. The world's an amazing place :)
I'm so glad that I was born under a temperate climate XD
Where I live in the summer it can be 40C. but summers are short, perhaps 3 and half months at most. During the winters, temperatures is lower than -45C sometimes even lower than -50C and lowest I have experienced is -57C. So I think perfect temperatures are from 15C to -20C. LOL 🇨🇦
@@yatinsebert Which place are you from ?
Im from the Pacific islands. From where im frm thats when its night time. During the day when the sun is out its +38degrees celcius.
Oh my goodness, so much work to be done. I'm sure your family is never bored. I love how excited the cows were to go get water 🐄
Very true
Will I ever visit Yakutia? No. Will I love and learn everything I can about the place and share random facts about it with everyone that I know? Yes.
That's lovely, I feel the same❤️
I guess you must be living in a cold place

-32C - "It's sunny, it's warm!" 🥶 Thanks for your videos! ❤️
Loved how the father is hard worker and he loves his daughter!
One of the good things about YT is how you access to people you may never meet otherwise.
It’s so nice learning about your home life! You have an awesome family!

Hallo from Yakutzia
@@AddyVDH hello brother
Maria, it is obvious that to survive in such an aggressive weather and in a land with scarce resources, a lot of effort, creativity, and a teamwork is needed that only a strongly united family can achieve. in each of your beautiful videos, you show in each of them the supreme value of a united and caring family. Very inspiring Maria.
Resources are scarce only in the European part of Russia:)
Maria is very pretty becz she living in cool places
very supportive comment bro
You can always tell low temps because the snow squeaks when you walk on it! I love that sound!
Your cows running to water make me think of happy dogs 😊
Seeing happy cows makes me happy too. "Yay, time to run and drink water! Wohoooo!"
Lots of greetings from Sweden!
Thank Martin
When you were with your dad smiling on camera, my heart melted. So cute ❤️😍
I love your documentaries from siberia, and admire that farming is possible. Im a retired soldier in a log build house I made myself in the Norwegian mountains. Now the duck pond is frozen, my ducks and chicken stay inside during night.Minimum temperature here is only 24 c below. Best regards from Norway.

-32 not cold😉

If i ever had a chance to drink the milk from this farm, i will treasure it to the last drop knowing what a great length of hard work your dad has put into making sure the cows are happy and healthy. Salute him
Respect. Yes.
Just can't stop watching your videos! Now I appreciate how comfortable my life is. Take care!
It's fascinating to see how people on other parts of the earth live, especially in places that I will probably never get to visit. Thank you for sharing.
Where I live in Australia it almost never drops below freezing! It's hard to imagine what -35 to -50 degrees Celsius might feel like
Very interesting video!
Well I live in Brazil (Cuiabá-MT) and here sometimes the temp goes up to +40C! Sometimes I feel my brain cooking and my face burning... I thought Australia was hot like here! Very interesting to know :)
@@Fabiohatores In regions like Canada and central Russia, while it can be -40 in winter, temperature can reach 40 degrees in summer. In Montreal we get both extreme temperatures
-50 is two times colder than in my freezer in Moscow region:)
I live in Argentina, summer are as high as 40 C° and I never experienced snow in all my life
it hurts to breath
I love your videos. Here I am whining that it's cold(9f, -12.75c) and still snowing here in Colorado, United States and your happy its -32c. You have reminded me today that I should just be grateful for the sunshine 🌞!
ua-cam.com/video/LK0XMkaCUJQ/v-deo.html
I watch your videos because I live in the hot desert and am NOT well adapted to it. I dream of cold snowy days and you let me have that. Thanks for showing us your life.
I’m from tropical country and our average temperature is 23-28 degrees
and 19 degrees make us freezing 😌😆
thank you for your videos!
19 degrees? dangg thats a lot, i live in denmark and we usually get 5 degrees and 12 degrees makes us feel burning!!! we are not prepared for summer
@@tatteredandtorn so it’s winter all the year?
because in my place it’s summer all the year😅
@@dilong3505 yup, in september to may it can still be like winter, even now that its spring, temperatures can reach -2C.. only in summer we get up to 25 degrees and we all feel like we are dying in the heat
@@tatteredandtorn i envy so much with ur country especailly snow😐 I wanna feel and touch snow ,coz my country is so hot tired of this climate,
@@WorldwideTopTier Even tho it's cold, there's actually little to no snow sadly.. I also wish I could touch snow all the time, we get it maybe 1-3 times in winter and then it melts the next day
In my country, it's not really snowy, it's just plain boring weather and also rain showers. the sky isn't blue here, it's either grey or white
Hello from Wisconsin :)
Im just sitting here, and its a high of 102°f or 38.9°C. Where i live. I find it so amazing that people like you all work and live in the environment you do. Much love from Texas
Wow, cowboys live there.
I never knew Texas could be that hot
Yeah, I live in Arizona and it gets pretty hot here too. How can somewhere so cold and so hot be on the same planet?
Don’t you mean from texas also texas isnt the south
@@keyurpatel1982 I lived in south Texas on the Mexico border/gulf coast. In the summers it would get below 100f at sunrise and then it would start getting hot again, One of the reasons i moved to the Seattle area.
Respect for you, your family and all the people who live there. Not everyone could handle the cold and the life style. I enjoy watching and learning from your videos. Thanks.
Hardcore lifestyle. Your videos makes me appreciate the easy life I have more than ever.
Oh my Maria, when you saud “Today its hot, it -32C only.” I am in Canada and I am dying with that temperature. Thank you for sharing.
What a beautiful day! Thank you and your dad for sharing life on the farm with us.
the way your father smiles at you is one of the most precious wholesome things I've ever seen
Yakutia is so fascinating! Thank you for sharing! I would love to visit there some day.
I live in Japan and during winter it’s around -2 degrees but it’s already very cold for me. I couldn’t stand it but -32 degrees for you isn’t cold. Amazing!🥶
today it' sunny..it's warm.....-32 !!!!!
hahaha
I've never heard of this place before, I'll never visit this place, and yet here i am... Learning everything I possibly can because it sounds like a magical place of sorts.
haha, same! Even though I'd love to visit (my cousin lives not too far away), and maybe one day I would? But then maybe I wouldn't - and still it's super interesting to watch Maria's videos!
Your father is a very hard working man. God bless him.
Wonderful information! Your father is a great man and his daughter is a truly precious gem.
Thanx Maria for making such a wonderful video - farmers cowshed in such a cold country, your father is really very hard working and I have a lot of respect for farmers as I am also a farmer from India. Your style of presentation is so simple and humble...
I love how she says 32... without mentioning below zero... Awesome!
Very genuine and practical steps shown that describes actually what it takes and how to live under such harsh weather conditions. Also , the attachment of family members is also a very heart warming and respectable show and my sincere prayers and wishes to the you tuber and her family.
Thank you for filming in such cold weather. I am from Canada and our winter also goes down to -30 to -40°C from time to time and we just don't go out unless we have to☺️
Not very cold today! Only -32˚ 😳
I do believe that the lowest temperature measured in Denmark for the last 150 years was -32˚ back in 1982.
Thank you for a very interesting look at your everyday life.
Want to visit Denmark heard is a great country
The extra crispy, crunchy snow sound is what my Siberian dad says is the real deal.
It's wonderful to see the cows jumping with happiness.
Thank you for sharing your winter activity. I feel calm and warm atmosphere (although incredible temperature for me) with his steady working.
Greetings from Turkey, farmers in my Father, I am not very alien to these issues.
Great
Saying “It’s sunny, it’s warm” at -35 degrees is a next level of insane to me 😅
Internet is great thing, I can watch people's culture from other part of the world. Greetings from Bulgaria 🇧🇬
I've only heard snow make that crunching sound when you walk on it a few times here in England, I'd love to experience winter time in Yakutia. Such a beautiful and different way of life. All the best to Maria and family! 🤗 (and the happy cows)! 🐂🐃🐄
You need to go up North for virgin snow.
Hello from Slovakia. Love this simple lifestyle. Great video as always Maria.
Slovakia nazdar yak se mache?
Замечательная погода, девушка, рассказ... Отдохнул душой. Спасибо
I really admire you, Maria! ❤️
Hi Maria, thank you for another video with snips of such an interesting part of the world. The cows look lovely and so happy in their way to the drinking hole yet I was left wanting to see inside the shed. I think it has to be such an efficient building when it comes to insulation and keeping the cows warm in such harsh winters. Perhaps another video showing us inside the shed later on?
Greetings from London 🇬🇧
Thank you for making these videos! It's really interesting to see part of your family's "typical day". From 🏴

Hi! I was so amazed by your video, thank you for sharing your life in the coldest part of Siberia.I enjoy watching it.
"It's sunny it's warm." In minus 32 degree, what I considered warm is 32 degree. I can't imagine how cold it is there. Awsome channel.
She said the weather was -32 degrees Celsius and was hot. We are so cold when the air temperature is -20 degrees Celsius in Turkey. 😁 Good luck. Türkiye'den Tüm Türk dünyasına selâmlar 🇹🇷🙋🏻♂️

Good honest people. So refreshing thank you for the videos. Love from Lou Ky.

Thank you for sharing how you and your family live in that part of the world. You're a intelligent, lovely, young woman Maria, you're parents must be very proud of you. And your English is excellent! 🌹✌🇺🇸
How successfully have you adapted your lifestyle to nature, even under such harsh conditions. Using almost no technological aids. Everything is natural and in harmony with the nature. Congratulations, Dear Maria to you and to your family!
It was a very instructive video. Endless thanks
Maria doesn't the severe cold air burn your lungs. What happens to someone like me from Africa breathing in such cold air. Will a stranger like me survive or will I get neomonia?
@@charlesdall8165 there is a guy from Nigeria, Mark Babatunde, he's a teacher in local school in a small village here in Yakutia. He get married here and have 2 children. He started a You tube channel but have only 2 videos. You can check it, it's called "The Northest African".
These videos make me so happy. They're so life-affirming. The most beautiful things in life may well be the simplest.

That is the first of your short features I have seen,
a random suggestion on UA-cam.
I am sitting at the moment in a flat on east coast Scotland. It is night time and it is the night of 31st of October. I am surfing through suggestions on a UA-cam channel I use to keep up-to-date with the goings on of the outside world round me and am amazed that I can simply do this and learn from the life of a person living at minus 30 degrees weather on a farm in a very distant location from here,. The differences in lives lived upon the surface of this planet is truly amazing. I am writing this to say thank you for documenting your daily trials and helping open our perceptions beyond the usual scope of this east coast city proximity.
I am off to have my evening meal, it's actually left overs from last nights evening meal but still a warm meal none the less.
God bless
enjoy your meal, stay warm.
Remind me of playing in a hay loft on a sheep farm in western New York State where I grew up.
Cow house reminds me my great grandfather's country side cow house in South Korea our family no longer live in our hometown I'm at NYC others at Seoul the capital city but this so much nostalgic to me my childhood memory
May God bless you Maria... I have lived in Mongolia and it looks similar to that and I miss and remember everything good I went through.
You are very good generous people... May God take care of you people.
I love to watch your videos , big hugs from a Dominican 🇩🇴 friend
This is a nightmare when i imagine living there alone, without any gear like that.. and a house without heater.. Now i will appreciate my country a lot more.. i live in Philippines by the way.. a tropical country.
Fascinating, thank you!
What a lovely video ! Thank you for sharing 😊🙏👌🏽
I love your videos and send my greetings and respect to your whole family from Colorado.

Maria: Its not very cold today, its around -35 C
Me: feeling cold at around 20 C 🙃
One of the most beautiful and happiest people I've seen !
I am from Canada it is very nice of you to show us your part of the world.
Çok güzel bir video baya merak ediyodum ineklerin soğukta nasıl sürekli ahırdamı kalıyo falan diye

And that is how I (a native English speaker) shall now refer to a shed, as a “Cow house” 😊👍 Too cute!!
María. My respect for you and your family! 👍
i love how you're trying your best to present us your culture, it's super interesting. it's important to maintain the traditions because old fashioned ways never fail, while modern technology is fragile
Plenty of old fashioned ways fail. For example, leeches used for bloodletting aren’t really a thing anymore lol.
