    Totally unrelated to edc but I’m glad Topo Chico blew up! Small bottling company from my home town Monterrey, Nuevo León , Mexico. So proud!

    I always used a really fine steel wool like 0000 and it gives a nice shiny brushed look on brass, but i really like how polished the pens you cleaned came out! The editing and music were done really well it was my favorite part!

    If you guys take some Flitz polishing compound and a polishing drill head from Amazon you can literally have a mirror finish identical to the one in the video! It's insane how good Flitz work with a buffer attachment on a drill.

    What also works is a damp cloth and cigarette ashes hahah it really works. Tried it with the Kaweco Supra Brass

    For people wondering why you would want to remove Patina, I have a certain brass bead I like to put on my lanyards, but they come with a decent amount of patina. I like to patina my own stuff so I always remove their patina so that i can slowly build up my own

    • @ZeroFeud
      @ZeroFeud 5 років тому

      Yep! Make it yours! Also some metals patina faster than others based on machining, coolants, oils, etc that that parts come in contact with during the manufacturing process.

    question: do you know of a product to coat and protect EDC pens? I have a brass pencil which was super shiny and is really dull now. I want to shine it but also make sure it doesnt dull again.

    MMMMM Topo Chico!! Love that stuff. It's everywhere here in Texas. Along with Ozarka, it's one of the best things about Texas. The lime version is superb.

    Man, isn't it strange how our perceptions change over time? I clearly remember wondering why anyone would feel the need to spend more on a knife than about the price of a Buck 110! And more than a few bucks on a flashlight, c'mon...
    I spent just over a hundred dollars on my latest EDC kit, and that doesn't include the cost of my Galaxy Gear 2 watch, cell phone, Leatherman Wave, Boker Kalashnikov, pen, or an organizer.
    I can't decide if I want to go with an engineer from Hitch and Timber or something more like a Yellow Birch or Maxpedition that I could hang from my belt. Hitch and Timber looks so damn cool, but belt-mounted Cordura is a lot less likely to pull down my britches.

    You can get that mirror polish at home with buffing wheel. Just a lil bit of mothers and paper. Definitely recommend mothers over everything else including brasso. And you don't need to clean it first using bar keepers friend before polish is wasting time and money.
