Great Video. I have to say that I believe you do the best editing of any of the narrowboat channels that I follow. It's like I am on the boat with you. Thanks again for using the what3words app. Your channel is #1. South Carolina USA
Thanks Russ, that’s super kind of you!! We do try and keep things real. Editing isn’t easy though because we refuse to wear microphones and Josh makes whatever noises Josh wants so editing takes FOREVER but we always said we’d ‘keep it real’ 👍
An ethereal atmosphere pervades your early morning stroll and remained for most of your day. Glad you managed to rid yourself of the nasties and top up with water. 😂 Tip of the day... Regarding your go kart tyre. No need to keep untying it from the boat and storing it away. If you know you may be using it again later, simply shorten the line it is secured with, by using a Sheepshank knot. This shortens the line so the tyre can sit on the gunnel and when needed again, the knot can easily be released to lower the tyre. Use this same knot to higher or lower the tyre level to match the canal bank fender. You can thank me later. 😅 Happy that Sue is feeling better. ❤
Thanks for the tip Harry - will look into the Sheepshank knot 👍 We think we’ll need to have a detachable system because we won’t know exactly where on the boat the tyre is needed until we are moored up so we will need to move it around. We have discovered an issue using the tyre which is the inside curvature collects water which is very dirty but another lovely subscriber suggested drilling 10mm holes to allow it to drain - brilliantly simple 👍 Sue says your WW is nearly ready. She’s used £500 of wool but I’ve told her not to worry, you’re good for it 🤣👍
Beautiful misty morning. I did find it a bit unnerving when the geese were honking and those posts loomed out of the murky pound ahead. It looked like they were barring your way. That horn of yours is deafening 😂🤪🤣 that’s probably what dazed Sue and made her put herself in danger 😂
Thanks Paul. It was a lovely morning to cruise. As for Sue’s positioning I don’t really know what possessed her because I couldn’t see the sodding light for her body anyway 🤣
I love these last two videos as you capture the whole scene of that area of the T&M perfectly. I know it very well and its so nice to see it again after 7 years away. All the best for 2024. Can hardly wait to see the next one! from Victoria, BC Canada
Hi there John. We’re glad you enjoyed the video and we could bring some memories back. It’s a lovely stretch down here isn’t it?! Wishing you a happy 2024 also! Victoria, Canada…that’s cool 😎👍👍
Lovely video has always hope you are feeling better Sue all the very Best to you Both tc now the oldies upset the storm has crashed our biggest tree Dow had since it was three foot high over twenty foot this year so beautiful Autumn Glory wonder full colours in the autumn 😢😢🤗🤗🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You're spoiling us this week 🙂 That looked like a lovely and still day, unlike today, we've had 46 mph gusts over here in Hull - hope you've been moored up and safe. K
Wow, that was a very misty start! Slightly more than atmospheric! Great video and editing. Love how caring you are when Sue is suffering. Wishing you both a wonderful Christmas 🎄
Epic last of 23 video ? You crammed a lot in on this one, the historic barges and lovely gardens and homes, even a tunnel not to mention the wildlife ❤ You guys have it all including full toilet and empty water tank 😅 Such a lovely time of the morning in the mist, makes me want to get up tomorrow and kayak from Brinklow to Newbold or if I'm brave Hillmorton locks. Just been too much wet stuff falling over last few weeks. 2024 hoping to bring us all a dryer and sunnier weather front with warmth 😅 Longer days on the way now. Narrow boat Will came through brinklow ❤ I missed him as I only brave the muddy tow path at weekends as dark when I finish work in week days not for the faint hearted walking muddy towpath in the dark. I see Sue looking good I'm guessing the shades help the headache. Now the bog and watering done get some rest in front of a log fire 🔥 relax...😊 Watch some of my old video on UA-cam in Padstow. I must put some more on over Christmas only been 3 years since I added anything new bah humbug...😅😅😅😅 I'm sure we will see you over Christmas on here have a lovely Christmas Lov from kev the Brinklow kayaker and his family katie and millie ❤️ 💕 💖
Thanks you guys. Hope you had a great Christmas too? Plenty to see in this video, which is great and a joy to edit! Shame you missed Narrowboat Will but the weather doesn’t exactly tempt people outside does it? Couple more videos yet in 2023 for us 👍👍
@NarrowEscape1 yer seen em I'm up to fate with videos... I'm full of cold literally 😩 just as I get a break from work full on coughing spluttering runny nose head feels like moo muck... 🐮 Suffering.. to top it off have a family get together Saturday that hasn't happened since before lockdown as all oap's and guess what I can't go with this cold that's weeed me off not sure when we'll have another might be too late. Yer Will want through brinklow missed him next time eh. Can't miss you guys though. Without coming across as a weirdo lol.. Have a great new year Kev
Good morning from one boat called Josh owner to another. I have just found your channel, this is the first of your videos I have watched. Great stuff, well done. Cheers, Peter.
Hello Peter (and Josh of course!!). Your boat could well be the one that people send us pictures of? We sometimes get pics from people saying they’ve just seen us 🤣 Hope you enjoy the videos!
@@NarrowEscape1 Good morning again, It could be I suppose,. although mine is on a permanent mooring on the K&A in a place called Marsh Farm just by bridge 165. Take care and happy cruising. Peter.
@MrPeterJMilner how cool to see your boat in the video. Looking though I’m pretty sure it was another Josh we had pics sent of so there must be at least a third!! Are you constantly double breasted in your spot out of interest? Ps not a chance I am asking a pro film maker/editor what you think of my miserable efforts then!! 🤣🤣
I am now a patron. Hopefully help you keep going and my 10 year plan maybe you will be in the canals. 8 don't know what percentage of people actually stay long term as the only way they want to live. I looked for 4tge narrowboat "Falcon Spirit" online and thought it's the name of many boats can't find that one. I froze it and couldn't see a tiller arm. Could it be it has a steering wheel? Or a remote control like some do now? Or like you said. The whole build is quite unusual. Hmm
Thank you very much Thomas for joining the Patreon crew - we appreciate ALL The support people give to the channel and keeping it going so thank you for coming on board!!! As for Falcon Spirit it's a really strange setup. We saw it on the Rivr Weaver near Northwich but the camera wasn't rolling so it was great to capture it this time. Our best guess is a hydraulic system for steering. It could be remote control but we suspect (we haven't looked) that most remote control boats still retain normal tiller gear for when technical things go wrong? Either way it's certainly a very pretty boat and sits very low in the water.

Hi Toni - sorry to hear you’re going through the mill a bit at the minute but glad we can offer a little respite at least. Stay strong 💪 😍
