I propose a term "DE-lite" for any game that's pretty much a Disco Elysium sort of thing but also not quite

Pathologic 2 eh? Brought a smile to my face quite enjoy that one.
Skill checks mechanically remind me of Disco Elysium from the looks of it, but if what you say about no backing out when you encounter them an interesting and probably better approach.
As I know I am one to abuse the "let me come back to you on this" level of communication at times. (You touch on the comparisons and I think the mechanic comparison is fair but other than that its hard to say without playing it, but I can see it with the skill check mechanic to some extent.)
The glossary does indeed sound like a good idea. Something to take away for other lore heavy games real or fantasy based backgrounds. I think kingdom come deliverance had something similar if memory serves me right...
Its nice to see Obsidian still making good games. I got a little nervous after they got bigger and bought up. But no, they're still at it. Lets hope it stays that way. If I can find time I'll have to check this one out.

Should I feel embarrassed that I immediately recognize the music of Hildegard of Bingen ?
