EA is behaving atrociously concerning all this. Many longtime, loyal players, creators and modders have never felt so disrespected by EA as they have over the past week. It's amazing that we get more real information about all these bugs from creators and modders than we do from EA itself.
The sims 4 is the only game that punishes you for playing it.

I’ve been playing on my save since sims 4 came out and put YEARS of work into every family and building I created. Now it’s all lost. I had to start everything over again. Ridiculous.

@@bubbles6853even if backing up is important, it's EA's fault for releasing packs that are so glitchy they need several patches to not ruin the game.

Modders just prove that the sims team/EA is more than capable of fixing the bugs that happen, they just don't want to do it or don't want to put the effort to do it. Modders make it look easy (I know it actually isn't for some of it) and that should be embarrassing AF for their dev team/coders.

Having to delete and lose all of your saves and gameplay is unacceptable. Time for simmers to get on that Class Action Lawsuit.
Look at EA killing one more franchise (but that one took them more time, because people were a LOT more forgiving than they were with SimCity at the time).
We have all been forgiving because there were no better alternatives but soon that will change
@@segoleetrudz Yep... when the SC2013 fiasco happened people could turn to Cities XL (and I still prefer XL or XXl over 2013)... but When Sims4 was released there was NO other life sim game around, and even if it lacked tons of features from its predecessor people could just say "heh, it's not there".
That and the gaming industry has been beating us down with more and more less friendly business pracices in the ten years since.
@@tonyzed6831 There are other sorts of simulation games that aren't quite "The Sims" but might satisfy the itch until one of the alternatives drops. I really encourage people to go to Steam or whatever they have access to on console and start "dating" other games.
I am a person who hyper focuses and sometimes its really hard to break away even tho we know these are pixels and not real people. It's hard to raise families through several generations and not get attached.
of course they are, they great at killing franchise after franchise. but for that we have sims 2 and 3 that are still good enough and way better then the horrible buggy mess called sims 4
While I appreciate Turbodriver for doing that, I don't think they should have. It pretty much just shown that they don't have to do anything because of the modders (and then console players get fucked).
For people reading: THIS BUFFS BUG WILL AFFECT EVERYONE'S GAME AND IT'S NOT ONLY COSMETIC.
There's not a single soul that will be saved from being affected by this bug since it's located in the script side of the game, which means all of our games are affected. Regarding workarounds, there will not be a workaround for affected saves other than rollback to a healthy state. If you saved while this bug was active, then you can declare that progress lost.
If you value your savefile, please do not save while this bug is active and just get in to mess around, things like fears, preferences, core game mechanics will get messed-up if buffs do not work correctly.
I feel for those affected by this. I'm a console player, and this is the first time I don't envy PC players.

If you look in Bug Reports in AHQ it’s so scary I have never seen so many serious and game breaking bugs reported after a patch. Today I found one concerning wohoo/romance preferences(married partners unable to interact 😮!!!). I‘m a legacy player bugs like this would destroy all of my family dynamics and stories I set up. I don’t know how they’re going to fix so many bugs so quickly I’ll definitely wait and see. The modders keep this game going at this point. I‘m so disappointed never would have thought we would be at this point after playing this game for 20 years 😢😢😢
I’m not touching any of my saves till i see that they’ve fixed the bug. I’ve been playing with my sims for years and I don’t wanna lose anything. I haven’t played the game for weeks and I’m so sad..
This is the reason it's strongly recommended to save back ups of your saves before patching the game.
Literally, it’s so easy to not ruin your game is you just wait to update your mods, your game and save backups😭 all this complaining can be solved in 10 minutes if they thought about it
@@phoebedavis288 I follow all the safety steps and still I don't think people are wrong. it shouldn't be this much work to play a game as it shows how spaghetti the code is. I didn't start backing up my saves because of bugs, I did it to switch computers or to save story points. Now I am backing up in fear the bloody game will eat my save. It SHOULDN'T be like that. Casuals should be able to login and play and buy new packs without worry the game is going to destroy save files.
@@phoebedavis288 Yes BG players ruin their games simply by playing, makes so much sense. Reminder there are new players everyday, who' just because they aren't savvy they ruin their own game. Not how that works, EA ruined the game. And no all this complaining is not solved in 10 minutes lmfao- the game, regardless of if you backup, remove mods, repair your game etc is not solved. All you did was work around, something that shouldn't HAVE to be done in order to play an active! game. Injectors don't care if you run off a backup save, as long as you continue to play you risk your game. and it shouldn't be that way. You simply cannot solve an issue you didn't create in a game. Even mods that "remove" certain attributes dont solve anything, it's just overwritten. Playing a game created by a team who literally do nothing UNLESS people complain is vital even for people like you.

I went into one of my saves after the patch and I exited it but never saved anything. However I did backup my saves before the update so I should be fine I think. But it is very frustrating how there are awful bugs after every patch, it shouldn't be happening

I literally lost my whole save file and it was my only save that I had (5 gen) and I’m still devastated over it😢
I promised myself I wouldn't go on today but I did. And I'm done with it. I had already removed my mods and cc so I can't blame them for the neverending loop of winterfest and new years eve that I had today. One day it was winterfest, the next day I got the notification that new years eve was coming. After that, I got the notification it was winterfest...over and over. The sims 4 groundhog day. Nothing on the calendar, doesn't move on from winter. Just stuck in this neverending crap of crapness. I think im done RIP Sims 4
I'm what they refer to in the industry as a whale. I have purchased every Sim game and every expansion pack since the original game. I used to play the OG game and Sims 2 and God mode designing entire neighborhoods. My doneness really I think came to a head with the high school life expansion pack I have not purchased anything since that release because I cannot download it. Literally nothing fixes it I've tried everything I put in multiple tickets they basically just ignore me now, bought two new laptops.
Nothing works.
So why would I buy any more DLC?
I also had an issue with downloading my High School pack purchase, sent them a ticket to ask for help and *never* heard back. Luckily it sorted itself out, but EA won’t see another penny from me.
I lost everything last week…maybe a week before that, idk but I was FREAKING OUT!!!! And magically they all came back…I played last night and everything was fine but thanks for the heads up I’ll move or duplicate my save file TONIGHT! I don’t need this stress rn lol
I have only ever had 1 save file, and it stopped saving. I kept opening the game and it was at the same spot over and over. But, don't delete your saves!!! You can recover your game progress by saving every household and lot to your gallery, and, start a new game and install those files, without losing progress. I did it once, and it worked for awhile but then it also stopped saving Started another new save, with new sims, and it worked for about 2 weeks, then it stopped saving. My game is unplayable as I cannot save progress. But, if you have years of progress in y our save, you can recover it. It took me about 3 days to reload everything into a new save, but at least I won't lose progress whenever this gets fixed. I'm done playing for now, in fact, I'm installing Sims 3 to have something to play until it is fixed. And I won't reinstall my hosueholds/lots until I for sure know it is fixed. Very sad situation.
I just restarted my game after months and this happened for the first time, I ended up deleting every household I had saved and making a new one, played 7 hours, reloaded to the family back on a empty lot and their starter money again. I don't know what to do. I can still play but there's no saving the process whatsoever..

Im so glad that I unstalled the EA app & the Sims 4 game off my laptop. This is unacceptable. Period. I wont re-install the game for a long time. Disappointed 💔
You know when you have that job where your boss’s hires all of his kids and nieces and nephews to work for him and none of them know how to do anything so you end up doing all the work to cover for them I feel like that’s the current sims team they are all incompetent and don’t know how to do their job, so they rely on moders and, the community to do their work for them and if they can’t, then they just Pretend it doesn’t exist and move on hoping that no one catch on and I for one don’t intend to reward that kind of lazy incompetent work ethic anymore. They will not be getting another dollar from me and this is coming from somebody who has bought every Sims game from the very first one way back in 2000

This is why it’s so important to create a backup of your saves before you update your game. I’m not playing any of my legacy saves until these bugs are fixed.

I started fresh as well... I also removed all of my mods, emptied my library folder... And my game is still crashing...
So the next step for me is to reinstall the game only with a few packs and see if I have a better experience... Let's be optimistic!...

SIMMERS JUST DONT UPDATE YOUR GAME. PLEASE for once let us ALL take a stand and show EA who pays them. Don't update for the next pack and don't buy. Once! Just Once please!!!! PLEASE.
People need to stop buying kits, expansion packs and so on to hurt EA pockets ONLY THEN will they care to make sure these bugs aren’t released or fixed asap when they drop new items. People continue to complain but continue to buy then expect them change & correct things & as always they don’t that sucks.

I understand everyone’s frustrations but the Henford Hen user is coming off repetitive. I feel like they update the game only to complain and they do not do what they should. For example, removing their mods or updating them. Also, I was watching a simmer on Twitch and they put that turbo driver mod in their game and it messed their game up so if you do not have that mood glitch DO NOT put that mod in your game or it’ll mess everything up.
I am ready for the fixes but nice video.
It's not the mods that is the problem it is the base game. People who don't play with mods are having the same issues. They changed the base game to monitor what packs you have and yes that broke mods (expected) but also broke the base game(not expected)

Also, I don’t care what Hen is my opinion still stands. Hen doesn’t know you and you defending them won’t give you any brownie points. I, in fact know this patch has been bad. Like I mentioned I understand everyone’s frustration but if you’re playing in a save file that was created years ago of course it’ll end up bad. Everyone is experiencing different bugs and some bugs aren’t really bothering some simmers. I was doing something simple and that was saying MY OPINION and passing information down to those who do use mods. You replying to me wasn’t needed and irrelevant.
@@KTB-cm05 As far as the base game breaking it could be a bit of stretch. It’s clear as day that when the sims team release a patch something will go wrong. Maybe 30 percent of the time or less. From what I get it seems that the sims team is trying to add and change the game for something new. Cars, fairies, bands, a new life stage idk maybe open world. They have mentioned multiple times how the game wouldn’t be able to run certain things but now are changing the base game in order to run something. Idk maybe it’s a stretch but with all the things we’ve been requesting maybe these little or big bugs are a sign for something we’ve all been wanting for a very long time. Yes, patches shouldn’t have bugs but idk the sims team do need to figure out a way to release patches without the game acting weird but hey a game is a game and every game has its moments. I know for sure the sims 2 and 3 went through the same things with the bugs and being unplayable from time to time.

Any update from the Sims team yet? I've been hesitant to open Sims 4 to even check out the free kits they gave away recently. I'm already a very casual Sims player because I'm a cheapskate and don't want to buy the add ons (and i never know what to do in game anyway.)

Is it save to only just playing around in the CAS page without going further into the game? The bug won’t infect your save file or your tray files?
@@therealgeorgiadacosta9320 The bug won't disrupt tray files, it will disrupt save files. Meaning you can create sims and save them in your gallery like normal, but playing in a world with them can have adverse affects.
I haven't played Sims 4 in a few months so I updated it today and was ready to play. Low and behold all my games were gone and the game acted like I was touching it for the first time since I got notifications for all of my packs being installed. I tried to look for some help but the "saves" file in my sims 4 documents is empty so.. yeah.
You’re so right that this the worst the game has ever been and its a long time coming- i wish there was a way the community could join together to boycott the next pack and demonstrate.
I had that yesterday when ya, I set up a new game, two sims got married and today, it was so bad - they were 'married' but I I noticed the , erm, vampire had different hair, so I went in today to do screen caps and his hair was back but the sim who owned the house originally (vampire moved in) couldn't go in but the vampire was having a fun time playing games, had some plasma packs to drink while the owner sim was basically dying outside. Like what? I reported it and you should see what they replied. "Did you delete everything in your mod file first and set it up again (seriously?) or 'did you move your mods to another file and play the game and wait until the glitches show up and get back to us? (again are you kidding?). Ya, it's bad.
I had this same bug, an npc sims just got pink hair, I went to CAS and he had the hair that I chose for him originally yet in the game/ live mode he has pink hair

I have not played Sims in almost a year. I really want to get back into it, but every time I am thinking of switching it on again, there are tons of issues popping up...

I feel bad for everyone that has long standing saves. I play with different save files from different simmers and just play save as to keep the OG file and whenever I want to start over, go back to it.
Legit why i have not touched or updated my game since this whole disaster started...i dont have a super long save but the one i do have is the first time ive played in alnosy 6yrs and ive grown rather attached and dont want to deal with any of this.
I have not even opened my game since last Monday, hopefully I should be okay, I'm definitely backing up my saves again just in case

I used a new save that I hadn't really played with. So I didn't notice because I didn't want to play with the saves I usually until all my mods were updated.
My biggest issue is corrupted festivals!!
I made a brand new save when I felt like it, but I'm SOLELY using it for building.
A question for the 'experts'. I don't own the crystal creations pack, but I started a new save Sunday, after the fix for the social menu disappearing. I started was an infant, and is currently a child - it is the supersim challenge.
I didn't outright notice any moodlets disappearing - but it might have happened without me noticing. I have not opened the game since Sunday night, as I am afraid to break it. My question is: how much will this bug impact my game? She still have her traits, but will this have an impact on future carreers as a teen/adult? Or can I continue to play when the game is fixed?

Okay i thought i had mod broken and thats why it was taken forever to load the interaction menu even though i updated every mod. Im someone who also dont experience the bugs or glitches to this bug has honestly made stress over the last couple days.
OMG! I haven't updated my game since the patch before the chef's stuff pack. So many bugs keeps me away from updating as long as I can. I didn't update my game before that was before the High School prepatch. Which messed up the apartment walls and doors in cut view. I didn't want that mess but I had to repair my game and had no choice, over a year I didn't update. If have to repair I guess I'm done playing until/if they fix a ton of bugs

The past few days I went back through my mods deleted duplicates reinstalled ones that needed updating and my game worked for a while. Then it stopped and needed updating.
This is why I have TWO back up save folders! Stuff like this would make me quit the game

I’ve been playing for four years and was there for my wedding disasters and this is the worst I’ve ever seen it. I can’t even play my game right now because my controllers don’t work. At this point I’m feeling like they should release fairies and cars and call it it a day. That’s all anyone wants anyway. This game is too many add ons shoved into bad code
I don’t really have the bugs they mentioned about with the moodlets but I do have a bug that won’t take me to my sims household and just reloads back to the world select menu and now when I try again I can’t even open the game, it just keeps saying there’s an error (and yes I already checked my mods and cc). Also Idk if my game is weird but during the drama about the pulsating shopping button, I never saw that button appear in my game despite it being up to date

I haven't been able to launch my game ever since the last 2 patch updates. It keeps saying that the Sims 4 is running but I haven't played in over a month. I have deleted all my saves, mods, and no matter how many times I delete the Sims 4 and my EA app nothing works. I even created a new account on EA, but it still doesn't work. I don't know what to do and I'm really worried it could affect my laptop.
This is similarly to the aging glitch where it messed up the save files..I'm done with this game at this point.

i have the woohoo preferences bug, i try to repaire but now i can't even open my game anymore, i lost everything, my saves, my sims T-T i'm going back to the sims 2 or 3
So, are my saves okay if I wait to play them once the patch is out? Or are they already affected just from opening the game? I have a save that is purely for building stuff on and that has been the only save I've played on since I've heard about this broken update. I've been playing other games instead for the time being, aside from just building in the Sims 4.
Whoever sees this, please don't even load your saves! Play a different game if you can or make a save that you just mess around with and don't care about.

not related but ts4 randomly deleted my favorite family i made.. i logged on one day and they just werent there. i worked super hard on it too. one of the moms was a 5* celebrity with a pristine reputation and was a grandmaster vampire and she had a wife and 5 kids 🫤 rip to them

Well since I installed the sims 4 I saw that my Onedrive gallery was full of random sims 4 photos! ( houses, sims..) That I didn't even take or made , So I wanna now how to stop those from getting into my onedrive bc that take too much space

How would i know if i have this glitch?
I guess i am lucky that i couldn't get into my most recent save at all. It would just get stuck on the loading screen..
So i made a new save instead.
Game bug: None of my packs show up so... I'm playing base game I guess?🤔

I started a fresh game, no mods.
I don't play Sims4 but I do open it when I hear there's bugs incase I can help.
My first save file won't load. It just stays on the loading screen forever. 😭
