      @@johnnyweaver9946 McAfee has been a bit annoying and crass since he's become a studio NFL analyst since his retirement, God forbid he comes across as somewhat arrogant and cocky but that still doesn't erase the fact that he's much more entertaining to listen to or enjoy hearing his playing day stories then 80-90% hard mentality of NFL color commentators, NFL Network smartass analysts who use to be ex-players, writers or columnists. McAfee strikes me more as a poor man's Richard Sherman except being less successful and probably nowhere near as intelligent as Sherman is. I mean, loquacious, controversial, Sherman is easily those things but you don't earn a Masters degree from Stanford University in 3 years and are elected Valedictorian of your graduating class if you don't possess a high IQ, a strong work ethic and equally solid personal determination.

      @Mr X Luck is entitled to do whatever he pleases. He only delayed the retirement because he realized it just wasn't a smart decision for his long term health. We should be praising guys like Luck/Kuechly/Willis and others who retired before they suffered the long term damage that we've seen from so many other former players. His own teammates wish him well and understood his decision, so let him move on in peace.

    • @jackycook64
      @jackycook64 3 роки тому

      @Mr X at least it was before the season and not half way through. Would you rather go week to week not knowing who your quarterback is going to be or have one step away before season starts and another step up? No team has had much success juggling two starting quarterbacks. Even though it was short notice, I think Luck did the best thing he could of for the Colts. Besides, we don't know the true extent of his injuries and how they impacted him. Health issues and exacerbations can notoriously hard to predict and can make someone undependable regardless of how much heart and work ethic they have.

    Weirdly, Indy had Denver's number during that time. The fact that they were the first team to prevent two different winning streaks (6-0 in 2013 and 7-0 in 2015) is baffling.
    Then there was that playoff game in-between, sheesh.

      Samuel Gilbreth Not quite, picking the Luck wasn’t a mistake as he was the best QB prospect the league had seen since manning. However signing Ryan grigson who was by no means fit to be a GM, would ultimately result in Luck being murdered behind that paper bag of an offensive line.

      Samuel Gilbreth They let Peyton go but Peyton’s last year he was by no means capable of carrying a team to the playoffs as he had in his prime. Luck was the only reason the colts had stayed relevant in these past 7 years. Have to place the blame where it’s necessary, would’ve have been something to have had Ballard and Reich from the start of lucks career, just another story of what could’ve been.

      @Hari Avula Yeah it wasn't bad at all, he did alot for us like retiring at the age of 29. Hindsight is 20/20, but if I had known we we weren't making it to any super bowls and the whole retiring in his prime thing, I would've never wanted him to be our quarterback in the first place. Not saying it's Lucks fault that he was always injured, but the fact still remains.

    Broncos were on a roll and there were even 16-0 whispers before this game. Still, Marino’s 1984 season was markedly better than Peyton’s 04 or 13, or Brady’s 07, when you compare the the league averages.

    As Al Michaels mentioned at the end there, this Colts team actually defeated SF, SEA, and DEN during those first 7 games--the top 3 teams that year. (Somehow, they got crushed by the injury-riddled Pats, though.) Nonetheless, that is an impressive feat.
