For the record, I would watch the hell out of a panel about the lorry/trucking industry and musical theatre. (I might even bring my dad.) The logistics of moving a production from one theatre to another are fascinating. I remember being at the closing performance of the national tour of Rent. During the curtain call, Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp shouted out everyone involved in the production. Towards the end of their speech, they brought onstage the Teamsters who moved the show around the country. Looking back, it was a beautiful moment of labor solidarity between workers in different unions.
I didn’t get a ticket because I’ve seen enough documentaries and internet stories about first year events (DashCon, FyreFest, TanaCon etc.) - hopefully it goes well, but I’ll wait until I know exactly what it involves 😅
I was thinking that in the back of my head. This event does seem more well thought out compared to the others so I hope it turns out well with no hiccups

I'm actually sewing my cosplay for Musical Con while watching this video! The video has been very helpful as I've struggled to work out what is going on when and where at Musical Con. The whole thing has seemed a bit... messy? Tickets were sold out, but then suddenly there were more (I bought the normal ticket because the priority was sold out and NOW you're issuing more priority tickets? Also, I still don't know the difference!) Announcements of who will be attending have been few and far between, the schedule was only released a few days ago and no one really seems to know what's going on. I know some MT fans were fearing this might turn into a Fyre situation. I guess the trouble is that you can't really get current MT performers in because it's the weekend and they have potentially 4 shows to do over those 2 days. I think I'm going to wonder around, look for the Phantom Phans (and your good self) and enjoy being mildly bewildered over the entire two days. Hopefully it will be more organised next year.
Missed out on a ticket this year, so if the surprise reunion is going to be the anniversary cast of Rent, I'll be guuuuuuuttted. They were absolutely incredible!
Thanks for the run down! I’m thinking the moving a musical is about how it adapts to a tour? Or maybe they could use Crazy for You as an example of how it moves from CFT to the west end?? I’m really hoping that non stagey fans will be joining in the workshops like me with the singing ones. If not I will hide at the back and lip sync!!!!😂

So there are dance workshops like the Jamie one where you get taught choreography then there are the workshops and masterclasses for singing etc.
