- A line of severe storms swept through Southeastern Ohio and Notherwest, central West Virginia on Monday, 6/21/2021
these storms brought considerable wind damage with winds gusting 60-70mph, torrential rain and frequent lightning. at 3:40PM EST, severe thunderstorm warnings were issued, and 3 tornado warnings were also issued.
While i don't believe my area was hit hardest, we did receive some wind damage and 5 inches of rain so far. at the time this is uploading, it has been raining nonstop since the storm hit it, so about 9 hours of continuous rain. definitely the most rain this area has seen in one day for several years.
Even though storms can be dangerous and deadly, there is also something tranquil and hypnotically beautiful about them. A celestial beauty that you can't quite put into words. Seeing the lazy sway of the trees as the wind gently caresses them, the lush green against the angry black sky. It all comes together to create something beautiful. They are the personification of good and evil, of beauty and the beast. Something that speaks to the nature of mankind. Something that demands our attention and respect.

Oh I so enjoyed your video! I grew up back East, but moved to Utah 44 years ago. We are a desert, so I am loving your trees and your wonderful green backyard. The pre storm and the heavy rain were highlights. I love thunderstorms and I thank you for sharing this one.

That silver leaf maple next to the playground is so beautiful when the wind bends the branches and the leaves up! the whole thing turned white a few times!
I always enjoy thunderstorms especially when the weathers nice like in the 70s where I have the windows open I also like the smell of rain during the spring time especially makes it feel more refreshing

Beautiful video. 0:32 is that a developing supercell? Those clouds look high, but I can't tell if it's rotating.
It was rotating, counterclockwise. It did strengthen as it moved east and was later given a tornado warning, but I don't believe one ever formed. Kind of interesting getting to see the birth of one tho.
I don't think so I think it's just the updraft cuz I don't see rotation

I am not exactly sure why but it is what you described and what is in this video that I love the most about storms, its the approach. Once the rain and the wind come in I don't find it exciting somehow. Perhaps its because I like the "uncertainty" of what is actually coming. I love the dark sky against the greens etc.

When will the loud thunder start
Whenever u see a thunderstorm rolling in and u hear some rain drops and thats when it tells u you take shelter fast or or u might get struck by lightning or rained on and the rain will come down faster and harder so when ur outside having fun and u see big puffy clouds that are very dark, u can look at them for a while but when u feel or hear some rain drops even one very small rain drop stay there until it hits u a second time so u know it’s rain anyway if u see, hear or feel raindrops or hear a small rumble from the clouds get inside ur house or under something quick don’t bring an umbrella bc lightning can strike an umbrella
I get scattered thunderstorm in the summer a lot but i miss it in the winter i wish summer came faster i enjoy it so much its calming😔😌 i love the strong winds i like to go outside in the wind to feel how strong it is it helps me fall asleep

Haha, I need to start wearing my sunglasses during storms. Wind blowing through all these trees and things start flying into your eyes. It kinda burns.
