Neil Franklin, a long time friend and student of Val Riaznaov gives a lesson to Bronson, a seasoned boxer. Bronson has been very interested in Systema and the Ballistic Strike, so Neil gladly gave him a lesson!
We start off with Bronson striking "Bob", the dummy with his normal Boxing punches. These are the punches that every boxer learns to throw, which are very effective, but we are going to make them MORE effective!
You can see that his strikes are hard, he has a lot of leverage and motion when he throws. But in the street, all the motion and moving could cost you.
You can see the first thing Neil demonstrates is how to position your fist on the body. He demonstrates how you want a straight line from the elbow to the knuckles, you don't want that "dip in the wrist". Try placing a board on your forearm, does all of your arm touch the board, from elbow to knuckles ? All while your upper arm is totally relaxed, from your elbow to shoulder.
What Neil is trying to demonstrate is how the arm penetrates the body, how the energy goes past the muscle into the organs.
When striking you want to make sure to keep your shoulder down, keep it relaxed.
TIP: When striking, don't over extend your arm. This will cause you to lose balance.
Learn how to drop your opponent in a single punch! You'll get FREE access to a 4 Part Systema Training Course taught by Systema Master Val Riazanov, and the Science of Ballistic Strikes ebook + 2 FREE bonuses.

It is striking with structure instead of muscle. It saves your shoulders and when correctly the fist it hits very hard dispersing the energy throughout the body. For me, and many people, staying relaxed is the hardest part.

Amazing to see how such a simple strike can be effective or more effective than a whole all out body in motion strike.

Yea, make sure those shoulders are down low not guarding your chin, so when the other guy starts throwing punches on you he'll be able to land one on your chin and knock you out nice and easy. LOL good advice Systema guy.

I think that if I was going to have a fight with someone, puching someone three times in the throat like he did right at the start of the video would be more effective than the body punches the fat guy was trying to show him.

I would agree... People can take punches to the body even from the Systema punch ... Try punching a Muay Thai or Karate man ... They will still be standing and probably laughing... Systema punches don't hurt ...only hurts the untrained..
