The back end of the Top 100 was still chock full of surprises later in this year but dance was holding sway, more so in the years ahead. We noticed rock slipping further down and out.
Oh yeah, quite a few of these I heard on Atlantic 252 back then. Nice to see the top 40 debut of the Manics, and even that TOTP appearance of "Bang" by Blur with the chicken head on a stick, hehe. Also, maybe it's just me, but I don't believe I've ever heard any radio station play "Cold Cold Heart" by Midge Ure in the years since it charted back then, am I right?
I think REM near wild heaven is the winner for me and I was also getting into the back catalogue of the doors following the release of the film but nowt else here did it for me back in the day.
