Go to the part where the gang come in to office Patrick goes to hit the barman but his nose is already bleeding it's where Patrick gets cut by guy the bear fell on.
I love Roadhouse. One of my favorite movies. Patrick Swayze died WAY too soon. He made soon awesome movies. Another one of his greatest movies is Red Dawn.
I saw it at the movies, bought the VHS, bought the disc, upgraded to blue Ray, and now have it in my VUDU collection. I’ve paid for it 5 times. That’s how much I love it. Also, to say Dirty Dancing was his break out real is ridiculous. The Outsiders, Uncommon Valor, and Red Dawn all preceded Dirty Dancing. And Next of Kin came out not long after Roadhouse, which was another under rated ( but excellent) movie ( with a little known Liam Neeson co starring).
This was a damn good movie. When I was in the military we were trained in how to do the neck rip out but we did it from behind. When I was a bar bouncer we would use peoples heads to open fire doors and get them outside.
Hello again Facts Verse 👋 I’m surprised that you didn’t mention that Kevin Tighe (the bar owner) was also in the tv show Emergency. Thank you for another great video Tim and I hope you and your subscribers have a wonderful day. 🌤
Red West has over 100 TV/Movie credits and has worked pretty consistently since 1958. The video makes it sounds like he wasn't doing much of anything before Roadhouse.
I can't believe this movie didn't get a good reception at first! I love this movie! I was only 9 when it came out but I remember the first time I saw it, I was 14, I loved it then and now I love it more. I think the nostalgia is a big part, plus Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliot are 2 of my favorite actors, also my uncle was a bouncer in the 80's and I remember hearing crazy stories about some of the thing's he had been through.
The 80s were full of action movies like this so it just seemed like another of the same. People who saw it loved it but not many wanted to see a movie they thought they’d already seen many times over the decade.
The fighting scenes were intense. Quite funny to see people in the next scene as if nothing happened. I think in the real world it would have taken months to heal all the inflcted wounds and bruises.
What makes Road House so good is the random stuff that didn't need to be there. Like when the goofy waitress, I don't even remember her name, sings "knock on wood" with the Jeff Healy band and she's awesome. It's not in any way a plot point. Just adds to to the fun of the movie.
The first night club scene was filmed at a place I used to play with many country western bands, called 'The Anaheim Cowboy', very close to Disneyland.
In November 2021, it was reported that Jake Gyllenhaal was in talks to star in a remake of Road House by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer with Doug Liman directing. In August 2022, a full cast was announced including Conor McGregor, Billy Magnussen, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Daniela Melchior and would debut on Amazon Prime Video. The film is rumored to have a similar plot with a modern twist. Gyllenhaal's character is to be a former UFC fighter who is now retired and working at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. Production for the movie will begin in August of 2022 and is planned to be released worldwide on Amazon Prime!!
I just saw and commented on Road House Cast video and this one showed up, as I mentioned before Road House is my all times number 1 movie and I love to watch everything about it. I had no idea one of the Memphis Mafia member was in the movie and cast named after real cowboys . I always say Road House 2 is disrespectful piece of crap and biggest example for why they should stop milking the classics under the title ' Remake'' . Anyway. Thank you for another great video .
I never knew "Roadhouse" didn't fare well, nor that it's considered a cult classic. Everybody just seems to dig it, myself included. I'm surprised that you didn't mention Terry Funk, although he was included in plenty of the clips.
Road House is the kind of movie modern security workers, aka Crowd Controllers adopt into their work. It much more professional to adapt being nice when confronting an antagonist, try to de-escalate a situation, not escalate it with angry, rough talk whch often intensifys the situation.
I'm actually glad Kelly was given the role, I think she and Patrick had great chemistry, I don't think the sex scene was bizarre either, I think it was sensual and hot 🤣
Patrick Swayze studied Wushu, Taekwondo, and Aikido more than 20 years before Roadhouse. And Benny did not choreograph Jackie Chan movies. Jackie Chan was the fight choreographer in both Wheels on Meals and Dragons Forever in which Benny appeared.
The detail everybody missed in all these tuff guy movies, is in bar brawl is, those guys don't fight ya one at a time while the others jus watch. It doesn't work that way.
It’s not my favorite but it sure is better than some shows that are on in today’s world I thought some scenes should have been toned down too much for me and for those who have come home from a war they don’t need that need more compassion!
It never occurred to me that Red West was anything other than a professional actor. His interaction with Dalton at the store just seemed so effortlessly natural. Had no idea that he was Elvis's bodyguard. Interesting.
the Road House film: it had featured Terry Funk, a legendary pro wrestler (1:29-1:44); he was the man wearing the gray shirt (he was talking to Patrick Swayze).
Can you appreciate a movie that doesn't try to re-invent the wheel? Good guys you love and had guys you love to hate. The photography, awesome. You notice how the films today all have that dark, dingy color. Everybody cast in this film was perfect, and nobody was the mirror image of anybody else. Not one boring scene in the movie. The action?, c'mon, it's almost as great as a Bruce Lee movie. Let me tell you something about movies, if the bad guys aren't great, the movie won't work. The guy who played Jimmy? Not surprised was a real bad-ass- a veteran God bless him. And Ben Gazzara? how does he pull off that evil demeanor without barely throwing a punch? It's that stare he gives off with those big eyes. And this movie could switch gears. My favorite scene is after Swayze and Kelly Preston get it on and they're sitting on the porch and she says "you could stay around Dalton"(he don't get a first name?) He replies "I don't think so." Damn, what balls to say that. The way she looked at him, she's a tremendous actor no question, but I think she really really liked him. " Roadhouse" is a guy movie no question. And yeah, I didn't much like "Ghost" or "Dirty Dancing." But there's something about " The Outsiders, "" Red Dawn'" "North&South," Roadhouse, "" Point Break, " and " Next of Kin. " There's tragedy there and I don't know why.
Every thing that Patrick Swayze done he had copyrighted. Patrick with his movie Wealth purchased a huge wild Nature preserve in Texas for Wild Mustangs. Upon Patrick learning of his cancer diagnosis: Patrick made it, that if anything, that pertains to him is to be viewed etc. DUE to his shows etc, being copywritten, The money goes to pay for the wild Mustang nature perserve. Terry Funk, who played Morgan, and called Wade Garret "dad" on the loading dock, is 2 months older than Sam Elliot.

A guilty pleasure. No mention here, and barely any in the movie's credits, of Cruzados (the opening band).

Kind of a stretch declaring that Doc was a reference to Doc Holliday.
