You made several valid points but I will stand by this album and pretty much all of Gracie's older work until the day I die. People love to act like their opinion is the end all, be all and say "this album is garbage, she's a priveledged nepo baby with no talent, etc etc" as if their sole interpretation is fact. I personaly loved this album and feel that a lot of the hate gracie is getting is exceedingly unwarranted, but yet again, that's simply an opinion. i respectfully disagree tbh. naming olivia rodrigo and lorde as artists she's "derivative" of is interesting, especially since olivia rodgrigo herself said she was inspired to write driver's license after listening to gracie's EP minor. also in your track review of close to you, you said it sounds like a lorde track, even though she technically wrote it before lorde released melodrama. i agree the vocals aren't the best, but i feel like there are still a lot of solid tracks.

I honestly can't decide if being a nepo baby would suck or rock. Like you get to put out bullshit for your whole life and never come close to failing, automatically getting in with some of the biggest names in the biz cause of your family. But I feel that security from failure means people like Gracie can never really grow as an artist because they'll never have that moment of introspection after a crushing failure, they'll just get pats on the back from throngs of yes men.

I really like EVERY song on her album and she does not even feel like a ripp off of Taylor Swift or sorts. I mean you can judge how its produced. But as a non-music expert even the Production and her voice sound fine to me. It even gets me really emotional. But I think with songs where its really about the lyrics you kind of just have to feel some relatability to catch the overall vibe that I really feel btw.

You made several valid points but I will stand by this album and pretty much all of Gracie's older work until the day I die. People love to act like their opinion is the end all, be all and say "this album is garbage, she's a priveledged nepo baby with no talent, etc etc" as if their sole interpretation is fact. Unfortunately, different taste is what makes us human. I personaly loved this album and feel that a lot of the hate gracie is getting is exceedingly unwarranted, but yet again, that's simply an opinion. An opinion that I am entitled to, just the same as everyone else. If her discography doesn't resonate with you, that's fine, but it's imperative to remember that it does resonate with others. i respectfully disagree tbh. naming olivia rodrigo and lorde as artists she's "derivative" of is interesting, especially since olivia rodgrigo herself said she was inspired to write driver's license after listening to gracie's EP minor. also in your track review of close to you, you said it sounds like a lorde track, even though she technically wrote it before lorde released melodrama. i agree the vocals aren't the best, but i feel like there are still a lot of solid tracks.

I agree, Olivia's songwriting style is pretty much inspired by Gracie Abrams. But I say Olivia is more interesting than Gracie, Olivia has very expressive voice and delivery compared to her. It's a shame, I thought I would like her songs, since they both write similarly.

Saw her live recently with t swifty as the opener and have to say the studio stuff doesn’t do her justice. She does have talent and the songs sound better live. Not huge on t swift but my wife is a fan in case you’re wondering.
