Man I love how awesome this game is getting. The boss fights are unique, the dungeons are incredible, and the cutscenes are amazing.

all the people asking why she is envy....really havent been paying attention to this game. The Phantom Theives at every turn were doing something that she couldnt with every case she had. caught every criminal she couldnt. Stopped her from being promoted. Evaded her at all cost. She may have already been distorted before the thieves. But throughout the game you can see her falling deeper up to this point.
Yes, and after Kanoshiro's palace this makes it very obviously.
It's also because when her father died she had to put her own life on hold to raise Makoto. Things like taking time off for herself or to meet someone and get married and have her own family, all those are either on hold or look like wishful thinking to her now that she's forced to focus all her time on and spend all her best years providing for her sister, whom she sees as having all the freedom to do as she wishes with her life once she's out of high school while she's stuck in a dead-end job and as a result is jealous of her.

and also, having a palace doesnt means you actually are a criminal. i like to think we all could have palaces if our desires and wishes were THAT distorted by traumas or self problems.
I originally thought she was pride and Madarame was envy since he stole his pupil's works.

You know, for how much I hate luck-based occurrences, this fight used that mechanic pretty well actually. I found myself occasionally going for high-risks and getting rewarded for it. Unlike a certain boss from Persona 3...Also that reveal of Sae's true nature, was most certainly a shock to me...

The possible effects of the wheel is chosen at random.
Getting it to stop where you want it to stop isn't.
The latter is basically the only reason why the Ghastly Wail strategy is viable on Fortune and Strength.

The good news is that Akechi was exaggerating a bit when he said they had a 99.9% conviction rate. The bad news is that the actual percentage isn't far off. It's around 99.3 to 99.6%. So he was only off by fractions of a percent. Either prosecutors are infallible and clairvoyant demigods or they are just getting convictions by any means necessary regardless of evidence. Apparently forced confessions like we saw in the beginning of the game are commonplace too. So just being suspected of a crime is basically enough to ruin your life because prosecutors won't let a stupid thing like a fair trial get in the way of boosting their conviction rate.

Casinos are actually very heavily regulated. Games of chance like slot machines have to meet specific payout guidelines, and rigging of any machines or cards can easily get them shut down. Yeah, the odds are weighed against you (there's a reason it's called gambling), but that's why you stick to stuff like cards if you can. There's actual skill to take into account, and the odds are slightly less against you.

No joke, I beat this boss with a counterstrike. She swung with a desperation charged severing slash and my persona reflected it for a total of 834 damage.
Same thing here. Girimehkala fucking ruins most shit she does. Same thing with debuffing her. It makes her waste turns.
Perhaps I was over leveled (was lvl 61 at the time due to grinding money and personal levels) but all I used was Dakini. Used Rakunda on Sae, had Atk up, used Charge, and attacked with only One shot kill. Each shot did over 1k lol.
I had a level 54 Arsene for this fight with 46 St. I just spammed Charge + Swift Strike, each time dealing over 1000 damage total. Felt pretty bad, she didn't stand a chance at all especially when I have Null Phys.

Shadow Sae's voice when she transforms is scary. The second i heard that creepy voice i was like "KILL IT QUICKLY!! NOW!" Creepiest shadow voice i have ever heard.

In my case is not forcing something, it's OFFICIAL since the JP version of the game was launched that Shadow Sae represents envy.

Just because her shadow is Leviathan doesn't mean she represents Envy through story. Besides, any of the bosses could be multiple sins if you just bs hard enough. The first boss alone could be Lust, Pride, Greed and Gluttony.
note4note Every boss represents some or all of the 7 Deadly Sins, but usually one of them is more prominent one, the drive behind their action so to speak. Also, it's already official that Sae represents Envy back when the JP version released.
Sae's VA was a really stand out for me. She fit her role so well.

That boss ENDED my first p3 playthrough. I didnt spend any time grinding and kinda...fell in love with social links. I spent so long out of tartarus and didnt know to leave a save a month behind just incase the boss gave you trouble.
Fortune is supposed to be pretty easy tho. Its the only boss you could one shot since theres a chance it could fear itself. Then you could just like.. ghastly wail or whatever the instakill fear thing was
Pax Alquiza Fortune is the easiest because you can always time the roulette spin to get whatever outcome you wanted. That fight was more rigged for you the this fight was for Sae.

Considering he's partly responsible for what happens at the end of the game,I don't think the rest of the Phantom Thieves had much more pity to expend, especially when they were busy with something more important. Sae Nijima mentions him at the end, but only to report on his current status.

playing through this game for the first time, in Shido's Palace right now, so my opinion might change, but so far this boss fight is the hypest fight in the game. Seeing her change to her 'true nature' had me screaming in hype. She's so badass.

Remember when Sae got the calling card? She told the director but the director told her to standby because the police were going to ambush them in the casino. Goro was the traitor that used his metaverse app to transport the police once Sae lost.

wow. the gambling theme makes me remember when i played persona 3 and fight boss shadow fortune (full moon). i accidentally inflicted fear to shadow fortune using the roulette and i just used ghastly wail from thanatos to end the fight. that was the most quickest fight i ever had.

Y'know, considering what you said about P3's fans a while back, that's kind of a hypocritical statement for you to make.
I think P5 could've used more nuance in the character's motivations, there was plenty of room for it with all the redundant dialog too.
What do you do in P3? Run around corridors, find the stairs, rinse and repeat. *BORING*. The level designs of P3 and P4 are utter garbage compared to P5, and even the creator thinks so. He specifically said he's going to improve the dungeons and levels in P5 and by god, what an improvement....
I'm not talking about the levels, I'm talking about you. Having this attitude of "P5 is the best and if you think otherwise you're wrong" is no different from the "P3 is the best and if you think otherwise you're wrong" mentality you accused 3's fans of having a while ago.
