I am so glad this was the first video of yours I have seen. I had the same experience- my style was close to smart casual/French but coastal grandmother style feels just like me. I love the relaxed, chic conservative nature of the style. Thank you for sharing- I will be watching more of you videos ❤️
Yes! Coastal grandmother style is so chic and relax and I completely agree it’s a bit more conservative, however I feel like everyone can make something of it. Even a young girl can make it work and don’t need to be very conservative. That’s why it’s so amazing :) simple and chic, two of my favorite elements to create beautiful style.
My style was already based on many of these Coastal elements: 1. A palette of white and other light neutrals like tan, beige and taupe, the cool pastels pale blue, green and pink, with a few accents of khaki green or navy, these are always the best colors for my personal soft, cool, light coloring; 2. Simply-cut and classic styles without a lot of details, soft tailoring, relaxed, but body-skimming fit, with some ease; 3. Natural fiber-fabrics and natural materials, like genuine leather, raffia, etc.; 4. A variety of textures; 5. Simple, minimal, good-quality jewelry and not a lot at once; and 6. Most important of all, flat or nearly so, comfortable and practical shoes (here in California, high heels are considered weird and pretentious, except for fancy evenings). I never used to mix white and cream together, but this style has changed my mind. White, however, does look much better on me. I’ve been looking for several years for a true white, natural-fiber short cardigan, no luck yet, they’re all cream.
I think if you really like to wear them you can continue doing that. Many ladies like to wear white even during the winter. So there is no rule when it comes to that. Obviously all depends on material if they very light fabric then you don’t want to be cold. So you would change for more warmer trousers. But I don’t think you need to give up on them if you really like them :)
Avoid nautical details and novelty prints, like those with anchors, rope, lobster, or coral motifs, it’s too twee, this style is much more subtle than that.
You kept saying jumper when you meant sweater. Think of hot florida summer cotton, linen, loose clothing that grabs the wind hats to protect from sunburn! Blues whites creams tans etc
Thank you. This was a wonderful video. I love your style and delivery of the iformation.
Thank you 😊

For the English a jumper IS a sweater. That's the term for sweater.
Can you link some options for the clothes you show ?
Hi, Sassy
I took all the photos from Google or Pinterest so I unfortunately can’t.
Grandmother here: we always used to put away our straw bags and white shoes away after Labor Day

Lots of distracting background noises, otherwise good presentation, helpful
