I wonder if you should just laminate your last couple of cards and start using dry erase markers for them to make them re-usable.
That’s a great idea! Now I’m realizing that you could do that for games like Yahtzee too. Take care and thanks for commenting!
Totally stole that idea from me. 😂 first comment I saw. I might have to do that!
I started doing that for all my roll/flip and write games. Except I choose to use vis-a-vis markers so that I don't accidentally erase anything.
I've found that a $1 plastic crayon box is the perfect replacement for the original packaging, as long as you don't mind folding your score sheets in half (or printing them smaller).
That’s such a creative idea! Thanks for sharing!
Laminate the sheets and use a dry erase marker! Can't wait to add this to my game library. I started with Catan Jr. for my kids, just got the family edition but looking for a faster game play.
Laminating the sheets is an awesome idea! I love the family edition as well. What I appreciate about this version-other than the fast gameplay-is that the dice make it feel more like a Yahtzee hybrid. It changes it up enough from the original without losing the concept. Take care and thanks for reaching out!
I just bought it. I laminated the scorecards and use a whiteboard marker on them.
That’s awesome! Laminating is such a great way to go, especially if it’s a game that you can see yourself playing over and over again. I myself have played it more times than I can count. Take care and have a great day!
I just picked up the game. I was thinking about laminating 10 of the score sheets and picking up a few more dry erase pens.
That’s a really smart idea! You might be on to something there.
@@gameswithdenverjames Thanks! 😊🌞
I bought this and it's actually B to the A!!! 😅 I cut out a piece of clear plastic paper and a got a dry erase mini marker, will never have to replace parts 😂 I Cary this in my collar shirt pocket and frigging play it at work all the time 😊 highly recommended for peeps with withdrawal problems from needing to roll dice 😀
I couldn't agree with you more! Out of all the games I own, Catan Dice gets played with more than 90% of my other games. The fact that it's your "to-go" game is fantastic! I take it with me anytime I travel anywhere, simply because--as you said--I always need to be rolling dice. Lol Take care and thanks for sharing!!

Great review! Going out to pick up a copy now! I travel I lot for work so I love pocket games like this
Hey thanks! Appreciate the words! This is in my top 5 for travel games for sure. Such a blast and feels like a fresh spin on the classic game. Hope you have some amazing gaming sessions during your travels!
Thanks for the review! I was hoping you might provide a quick overview of how the gameplay worked, but I appreciate your discussion of packaging and replacement parts. Also, it's pronounced "kuh-tawn".
I’m glad you enjoyed it! This was my first video on the channel, and afterwards I quickly realized how important it was to show packaging and gameplay. And hey thanks for the proper pronunciation! It’s a joke amongst my friends that my pronunciations are a bit off. Lol Thanks for reaching out!
@@gameswithdenverjames No problem; I mispronounced Catan for years, too.
You can laminate the cards and use skinny erase markers for re use
That’s a pro move on multiple levels!
had been seeing this game at my local walmart for $15, but was a bit turned off by the packaging so never got it (have never played catan because i only ever buy games that can be played solo). i found it at a local place for $5 and figured what the heck and got it. wish i had got it sooner cause it's a lot of fun (and i'm a sucker for dice rolling games). i don't know why they decided to package it like they did. i'm only 2 games in (both on island one) and already wondering about running out of sheets to play. i might end up just using dice to keep track of score, as i have sooooo many extra dice, and tokens to mark off things i've built.
I’m glad that you were able to get your hands on the game, and at such a great price! It’s one of my favorites. I’m with you on the packaging. I wish it came in a miniature box that mirrors the original Catan. That could’ve been really cool. And that’s a great idea with the extra dice and tokens! Others have commented and suggested laminating a few score sheets and getting dry-erase markers, which could end up being a game-changer. Take care and thanks for commenting!
The Amazon price for this at over $12 is kind of a rip-off if you have a Target near by. It's on clearance. Just got mine for $4.64, just for the custom dice. Now to come up with some interesting variants for Rivals for Catan ;)
That’s a great price for an excellent game! I had to wait it out a bit on Amazon before it went on sale (I live on an island in Alaska, thus no Target). Happy gaming!
@@gameswithdenverjames Rivals for Catan is an even better deal at $7 for a game with almost 200 cards. It's only two player but it's my all time favorite in the Catan franchise. Thinking of picking up multiple sets for tournament play. Sadly, I don't have any regular opponents in my life right now 😭
I’ve definitely gotta add that to my game list! That sounds like a blast. It’s always so frustrating when you’re short on opponents to compete with, especially with such a great game.
Ive never played the game before, only watch lets plays of the digital version, but I saw it right now at wagreens for 12.99$. So 13plus tax isnt too bad.
🤔 not sure how much the og game costs. As a solo player who like rolling dice~, it would be fun to learn.
It’s a really fun game! It’s a bit of a hybrid between Catan and Yahtzee. My only complaint is the lack of a box, but other than that it’s great.
As for the og game, it runs anywhere from $35-$50 on Amazon, depending on whether or not it’s on sale. That’s a fun one as well.
Thanks for commenting and have a great day!
Can always pull a few pages out, and laminate them.. Then you just need the dice, and a dry erace marker.
Yes! That’s a great idea. The same could be applied to other games like Yahtzee as well. Take care and thanks for commenting!
I laminated mine
That’s a great idea! Might have to do that myself. Take care and happy gaming!
Laminate a card, and use a dry erase marker....just bought the game at Walmart...
Laminating is a game-changer! Such a great idea. I’m glad you were able to get ahold of it! Definitely one of my favs, plus the replay value is pretty high. Take care and thanks for commenting!
