    Btwist was my go to move a few years ago. I could throw it effortlessly, then I took about 18 months off tricking and lost it entirely. I'm looking forward to trying this method, it seems to make a lot of sense and simplify the learning process! You're a legend, I love your vids bro, thanks for all your work!

    Nice work. If I'm working with people that have never done b kick but understand the 540 set up then this is the way to go. You can add straight legs later. Beautiful cueing and advice

      @johzuke1  8 місяців тому +2

      With this method you get the needed one straight leg since the very beginning though 😊👍 Btwist and bkick have only one thing in common, the takeoff.

    Love this video , great tip I wish I knew when I was just learning, I was focus on combing a b kick and then twist but this makes more sense to just learn the b kick take off and progress the twisting from vertical to horizontal, super safe method to get it

    SO good, thanks Johannes! I have too much twist when the "flip" is already completed, and pulling the leg will probably fix it over time.

    this is an approach ill definetly try. When i got b-twist, i was simply thinking of it like a really cheated full of some sorts. Due to this (and also a horrible set!) i immediatly lost it. No matter how hard i tried to think of it as a b kick with a twist, it felt like my body was somehow getting caught on the air, not allowing me to land.

    I cannot figure out how to get my jumping leg up and over like that. I keep landing on my “kick” leg, and it’s incredibly awkward to try to land on my jump leg

    • @johzuke1
      @johzuke1  4 місяці тому

      Yeah I have noticed some people get it way easier than others. It comes usually down how good they are at spinning in general. If 540 spin is hard for you in general it's gonna be hard to tilt it in the right way and land on one leg.

    Your videos are amazing but sometimes I have trouble landing and it’s scary when you teach to slowly invert tricks. I’m not sure if it’s you just having amazing air awareness but it feels like I am more likely to land badly when I do little inversion. How do I fix this?
    Like in the cart full video how you bounce out of the landing halfway through inversion but when you just do it full inversion you land perfect on floor. You’re a bit like a cat and always land on your feet ahah.

    • @johzuke1
      @johzuke1  8 місяців тому

      Slow yourself down! You are probably making too big changes in one go or don't have good enough awareness during the previous step. These methods require a crazy amount of reps from most people. It's not meant to be as fast progress as I show in the video.

    how do I get a 540 rotation, I struggle doing a 360 spin, for whatever reason I tend to only spin 270 degrees. can you please explain how to twist more horizontally? I had in total over 100 attempts at trying to spin more than 300-360 degrees (not since the release in the video, but a while ago in the past) and I could never do it. I tried to really try to coil up everything and consciously move my arms and legs, and it didn't work
    I don't know if I am just supposed to grind it and hope that eventually it will work (maybe I was not conditioned enough when I tried), or if I am not paying attention at something and it's fully about technique

    • @johzuke1
      @johzuke1  8 місяців тому +1

      Is it because you can't jump high enough, or is it the vertical spinning itself that makes you fall when you try to do more? I have seen people in our classes who struggle with 360 jumps but it's usually kids who clearly aren't moving in the first place. 540 spin is slightly harder than 360 but it should be absolutely doable with some training. I also struggle with doing a lot of fully vertical spinning during vert kicks but these lower amounts of degrees should be absolutely doable to get.
      If the matter is the power any plyometric training will help. If it's the twist you need to film yourself and see where the technique fails and you are losing the correct twisting position.

    Hello my friend! i've been doing wushu, and this is essential move to learn, even though i practice twists,flips and turns a lot, i do a perfect b-kick, when i try to do b-twist seems the most difficult to me, i always tend to land with my right leg first, which turns to hurt my ankle, and even worst, i usually fall to the ground, due slipping, really bad(few times i landed on my head). when i do a normal 540, or even 720 and land on my both legs, it turns completely fine. but i just can't comprehend putting my left leg down first, like my body feels scared or my mind trying to prevent me from doing so. Do you have any advise on how to overcome that, or what to do in order to fix that? your tutorial was the easiest i have seen and the most well explained but still can't figure it out, and the more i failed, the more i feel scared to do it. (tried both on mattress and grass)
    Thank you in advance!

    • @johzuke1
      @johzuke1  7 місяців тому +2

      It is really hard to fix mental blocks like this. The thing is that once you develop a bad habit it needs to be addressed by starting the learning process from completely beginning. So start with a 360 jump and then turn 180 on the floor while trying to imagine how you should land on the leg. You drill this until you understand how it will feel in the air and after that proceed to the 540 spin. There is no way around it. You gotta always know where you are when you twist and what your position is.
