Well done! One thing that I usually do especially if you run into an offshore lock with irregularities in the plug is that I would test the key after putting each pin in. In other words, after sticking a key pin in, I would immediately put the driver pin and spring in so I could test the key. This way, if the lock acts funny, I know exactly which pin is causing problems.
